I love this so much it's almost like you can imagine Apollon himself lifting it. Iconic people never die, they just take form in their legacy, which in this case is leading strong man doing the same exact thing Apollon did years ago and this is what brings him to life. What a legacy and culture we have. Thanks for sharing this so fucking inspirational
@@J-Strength1 There is no freaking way Henry (or any of the others) were remotely clean. But it's okay, we know they are all on something in Strongman, they just don't test them or lie and say the tests were clean. Even today OLY WL is not clean, they just manage cycles better and microdose to wash out traces really fast.
Wait so the original was just a barbell with an axle thickness? So if you could manage the grip strength at the bottom, it would be way easier to clean?
It's within the football stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. I was so fortunate about 6 years ago to go there with a friend who knew Terry. Terry gave us a tour around the Museum telling us about his favourite pieces. Certainly will never forget that.
Thanks to Terry Todd who brought back the Apollon Axle into modern Strongman. Such pieces of history should never be forgotten.
RIP Terry 1937-2018

No mention of Zydrunas Savickas/Big Z who mastered the Appolons Wheel for 8 reps
mnikhk Apollon did it without steroids though.
@@DasGonz13 So did Mark Henry!
Henry was the first in 2002 to lift it that year! Sure people learned how to lift it YEARS LATER but Mark Henry was the first!

Please note, the original narrow gauge axle's wheels were independent to revolution but the copied version has fixed non revolving wheels.
