The all-new Cadillac CT4-V is the higher performance compact sedan from Cadillac, replacing the excellent ATS sedan. This new CT4 is slightly larger than the old ATS and it comes with a base 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder model or this CT4-V with a 2.7L turbo 4-cylinder with 325hp. The base price of the CT4-V undercuts many german rivals like the Mercedes CLA, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the Audi S3 and more. The handling of this new CT4-V is strong thanks to a 50/50 weight distribution, magnetic ride control, limited slip differential and Brembo brakes. The power goes to either a base RWD setup or optional AWD and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The CT4-V isn't a big car but it does have room for 5-passengers. The exterior styling is fresh but the interior of the CT4-V is a strong point, thanks to above average materials, easy to use infotainment system and plenty of redundant buttons. Cadillac has some strong cars on its hands and this CT4-V is one of them.

Test drove a Cadillac CT4 yesterday, I was amazed! Finally, Cadillac did something right... power was good, fit and finish was better than I expected. Cadillac just has to market the CT4 correctly, they're not good at marketing like they used to be. You compare the CT4 to the Audi A3, I don't really agree with your reason, physically the CT4 measures about the same as my C Class. Just looking at the CT4, I think it looks better than the CT5... my reason, that ugly C pillar that's on the CT5. The CT4-V is Awesome! Great power. More power than anyone needs, I live in an area that's saturated with police radar, so it really doesn't make sense to have so much power that you are restricted to use. Take note Cadillac: plan on producing these new automobiles long-term, after all, we're still dealing with the pandemic. Don't drop this automobile because of soft sales during this time, CT4 & CT5 are winners!
Thank you for your positive feedback, glad to hear you feel the same as us. Awesome!
Great to hear, as a former ATS owner, that car was rock solid in so many ways. Loved it. They did that right in the mid-2010s.
Full points to Cadillac for turning their product around over the years.....
Great interiors, decent rides and power.....and not another boring CUV/SUV !!!
Absolutely, couldn't agree more.
Another great review guys! And you are the ONLY auto journalists that aren't confused and don't make a big deal about the new "V" series VS the upcoming "Blackwing" series. Thank you for being sane and moving on with the times. Seems other reviewers can't keep up with change in their minds. Well done Team Motormouth, the best auto review channel on CZcams!
Thanks for this JJ
Wow, thank you so much!
Great review... Right now you guys are my favorite CZcams car reviewer's... Keep it up!
Wow! Thank you so much!
@@andreaspencer9813 Agree!
@@MrMustangrick Thank you! Happy New Year!
Great review, always are !!! I said it before and I will say it again. The way you go over the vehicles together like just a normal conversation (like there was no camera in the car) is absolutely perfect 👌👌. Have a wonderful weekend Zach & Andrea.
Thank you so much, your support is appreciated. Have a great weekend too!
@Hugh MacIsaac so good!
Hey Zack and Andrea!
This review was just about as good as it gets! 👍
Awesome, thanks for your kind words!
Great review folks ! I own a CT4V since Sept 2021. Despite living in Montreal area with potential harsh winters, I got the RWD version to get the magnetic ride control which the AWD model doesn't have. I traded my 2018 Regal GS for this car because I wanted something smaller, lighter and more nimble and boy does the CT4V delivers. The CT4V puts the power down so well in its RWD version and drives no problem in snow and ice, currently equipped for winter with Continental Wintercontact TS830P. The magnetic ride suspension in tour mode makes the car comfortable on rough roads despite its rather short wheelbase. Even in track mode the shocks are compliant and zero body roll. Couldn't be happier !
Cadillac sedans really are first rate.
How do you find the transmission? I hear the downshifts can be kind of slow
@@revaholic I don't use the paddle shifters as they are slow to react. In track mode, automatic shifts are quick like a dual clutch transmission and when flooring it it activates the performance shift function which remains into high revs. In touring mode shifts are smooth and seemless, much smoother than a real dual clutch transmission.
I like the direction of Cadillac’s styling, as of late. And this CT4-V, especially with GM’s 6-speed manual, I think, it would be quite the fun and inviting drive. The only real disappointment, for me, might be it’s size. I’m not the biggest fan of small(er) ‘luxury’ cars (I’m more of 5-series/E-class/A6 kinda guy). But if you like things in smaller packages, I wouldn’t be disappointed with this new Cadillac. It certainly has a distinctive look that will age better than some of the Cadillacs of past. Thanks for doing another video together. They are always entertaining.
I totally agree! Thanks for watching and as always thanks for the support. :) Glad to hear you are enjoying the videos we do together.
I rarely say this, but, this Cadillac is gorgeous both inside & out! I'm not sure how reliable this particular drivetrain is, till then this sounds like a good 1 to 3 year lease car. The pricing is tantalizing too and should help break the senior citizen demographic stereotype and woo in the Gen-X and younger crowd.
I totally agree with you on all your points!
For carmakers who can't build better quality products just lease their vehicles.
@@1quickster Yes, you have nothing to lose especially if you want to give a Cadillac a try.
Great job Andrea and thanks Zack
Thank you for watching!
Beauty cars....they just need to be sound ten years later.
I saw a CT4-V that looked exactly like this.....black wheels really added to the car's look
That's my old hood! What a fantastic location that is.
Terrific neighbourhood!
@Motormouth I am so ready to see a review by you two for the CT5-V Blackwing. SO PUMPED!
I am buying this for my daughter this year.
Andrea, very classy lady and great sense of style, very comprehensive review, you guys complement each other well.
So nice, thank you so much! We are happy to hear you liked the review.
Nice car Another hotshot review
Thank you so much, really glad to hear you enjoyed the review.
❤🎉 beautiful car
She's a great add to the channel. Great input
Miss Andrea! 😮❤
And with the Farrah style Shades?
Im all about these CT’s! Might need one soon
Am very much confused
Is the CTS V muted ?!
I never had a car that sounds and I want a car that just produces an audible noticeable sound when I start it, I had the cts 2014, Is this just as muted as the normal cts 2014 or sounds better ??...
8:25 Zack, you seems to tilt your head, and make that face whenever you do a hard acceleration 🤣
So wonderful to hear a lady's point of view!
Although Cadillac seems to be gunning for the A3/2 series, etc., its size is actually bigger, or a "tweener." Compared to the A4, it's actually an inch longer but has a slightly shorter wheelbase and interior dimensions. So if you're shopping for one of the larger German brands, you might want to check this out, it might fit you (and save you thousands).
Absolutely!
great honest review. However I think Cadillac had passed its time. It's still viewed as an old folks or die hard Detroit fan's car. Old folks don' need power or super handling.
Note: Cadillac was a status symbol in the 60, 70s. Every one wanted one.
Debating between this and is350. Which one do you suggest. Hopin to keep for 7 years or so.
I don't know if you've made your decision already, but this car seems a lot more performance oriented than the IS350 (and faster!) Since this has a GM motor used in trucks, the engine will likely be reliable
Can you start adding litres/km or miles/gallon? I will look it up myself too, thanks!
Yes, we have started adding a few new things in the videos, one being litres/km and some US prices as well.
@00:30 "t-shirt that says put it in..." LOL
Get ready, they are coming! :)
Miss the old 3.6 Liter V6 the ATS used to have. Didn't have a Turbocharger and it ran on 87 octane
I was done at pitter patter. 😂😂😂
I like that!
Hopefully the blackwing has handling that is comparable to the ATS V
Always a great review. Why do so many luxury brands have silly transmissions shifters in their cars? I include the Germans here as well.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the review, thanks for watching.
How's Cadillac maintenance and reliability? Is it bad like Jaguar or better?
It's getting better but if you are concerned you call always lease, kind of like a 3 year test drive.
#NeverForgetChrisBangleRuinsEverything 😂
Saw a real V yesterday, black CTS-V, still one of the nicest and baddest looking cars on the road.
The "Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac" line in "The Boys of Summer" refers to a $21K Seville, the status symbol of the right winged upper middle class American bourgeoisie driven by guys w/ blue crested blazers & gray pants. Also, have you notice GM do not market their cars as performance vechicles for enthusiast, but as stylish for status seekers as they cruise 2 mph down cobblestone streets?
I was expecting a car review, with images of the car
I am not getting it. I like the tail lights and rear view of this ct4. I like these alot. Just got a 2021 CT4V in the Red. It works for me and am enjoying the comfort and feel.
Us Americans have a car to buy from our home land, nice!
Love the both of u. I still remember zack reviewing the Pontiac g5 when he was on tv and I bought one cause of him. This ct4’s butt looks like a sealed envelope imo
Thank you so much, so glad you are enjoying our reviews. That is so cool you bought the Pontiac because of Zack, fantastic.
Hmmm, in the states, we seem to suffer from ( lack of colors ) for new automobiles. As far as the “ color pallets “ (sp), car companies are pushing too much white! Anyway , great review folks! Hello from Washington D.C.🇺🇸. Stay safe , stay healthy!.... Btw, it’s spelled ( palettes ) ... color palettes.. yes!
Thank you very much, glad you liked it!
‘Color’.... is a actually spelled “colour”. But your point is well made ... neighbour.
You got lot of fans
Best Cadillac reference in a song - The Pretenders, Night in My Veins. Check it out ... you'll like it.
I like The Pretenders, thanks for the suggestion!
Hmm if it has pop culture status with the letter/number stuff I suppose they won't bother switching back to names like Lincoln did. Pity they had some epic names back in the day that many still remember today. I see what you mean about the rear. It's like Jay Leno often says if it looks good in white you have a winner, all the flaws will show in that paint. The wing separated from the trunk edge looks better on the other model.
Cadillacs and other luxury cars are only a good buy when used.
I would do a lease to start.
I personally think it's looks far more dynamic ass than any of the German droopy buts.
50k for a Compact? With that gauge cluster that came from another gm car?no head room in rear seat area? I don't know...
This is a fantastic car! But it's just a hair more expensive than the fully loaded G70. The Genesis is superior in every way.
Great product!
Car looks nice in most colors. However GM reliability is still going to be an issue. I purchased a 2021 CT4 and within 1 month had it back at the dealership (twice) for something as innocent sounding as "Engine Light On". They have had to replace a (cluster) module (not stocked in Canada) but were unable to program it (which I interpreted as a configuration activity). I have been told that I will be without my vehicle for 6 weeks while GM engineering writes some new programming for the new module. At least they are providing a free rental but this does not bode well. Yikes
4:16 So no Edsel grill and no Bangle Butt.
Your kids must be horrified by all the talk about Andrea's butt! lol. You talked about it in another one of your recent videos too!
lol! I don't really think they watch us very much. But, they are used to butt jokes at home...haha
What is Andrea's watch ?
Datejust pink dial.
@@Motormouth... Nice, thought so. I have a datejust blue dial. On waitlist for the new Sub 41.
Good luck with that, I've given up on buying new. It's a racket now.
This is for the burbans and the Cadillac’s
It looks like the spent all their money and time designing the interior and front of the exterior but didn't have the budget to design the back lol
The back is definitely an acquired taste!
Put it in .... S. ... awww man 😅
The issue with the CT4-V is options. Starting price for the V with AWD is 45k but once its optioned the way most people want to buy it the price is 53-55k. Just to much money for what is considered a niche brand now. People 30 or younger will just get a German car for that kind of money. Hell, at over 50k the Kia Stinger is a great option.
As a first time viewer I felt for some reason like you were trying to minimize the cons. To deflect some of its issues. Not putting anything down. Just something not raw truthful. I’ll subscribe to give it another chance but may not sub for the long run.
To be honest we just generally feel Cadillac is putting out some good products. We are impressed!
Andrea Spencer I’m a cadillac fan. Own two. Have been in a cadillac since 2005.
@@demang0405 Fantastic! They are putting out some terrific product these days.
The interior looks really old for a new car or is it just me?
I think the interior is quite nice!
@Hugh MacIsaac Me too, I like the combination.
24 ct4-v
I hate the rear end of this CT4V too.
Intake wider pipes corsa cat back ECU tune e85 mix your in 400Hp around 500 torque it’s gonna evil 2.7 inline walking sleepier beating on your exotic
Just work harder and get the CT5-V 😂
An even better idea!
Maybellene, not Madeline.
Good catch
Thanks! Couldn't remember the name......
Luxury cars shouldn’t have a 4 cylinder engine from a truck.
If you believe that's a luxury car, you probably drive a Honda Civic.
Something we both can agree on
putting a 4 cylinder in a V is a joke, cadillac just made the V a brand to be taken seriously then they just a 4 cylinder in it idk why they did that
Hey guys, I love you both but your taste is ton much North American. This does not compete with the German premium brands. And the rear is really terrible. The designer must be fired. Greatings from Paris.
Thanks for watching, glad you are enjoying our reviews. As for the rear, it's an acquired taste!
@@andreaspencer9813 Hi Andrea. Thank you so much for your answer. Keep going with your lovely sense of humour. Salut !
@@jrr3558 thank you so much, you are very kind. BTW I love Paris, what a wonderful city :)
With all due respect, this absolutely competes with the Germans. I have a 2018 Audi A4 Quattro and will be trading it in for a CT4-V later this week. I loved my Audi but the CT4-V is a more engaging drive. And, I sure hope you see the irony of a French person commenting on the look of any car. Surely you are aware the French are infamous for their "designs."
Poor value depreciation reliability very poor
A lease for now might be a better way to go
Great car, really, but for God’s sake Cadillac, WTF is with the naming? What Marketing mastermind decided to loose all the V equity? For a V Blackwing that won’t have a Blackwing engine? Nobody knows what’s going on at Cadillac these days, and it’s sure not gonna help your sedan sales. Self-inflicted damage to the brand.
Time will tell.....
@Hugh MacIsaac hmmm interesting
Stop putting standard Chevy drive trains and power trains in Caddy's. All you are doing is over paying for styling
Is it me, or are all vehicles starting to look all the same? ..... Ugly!
