Excellent review man! This is the best Review I have seen of the CT5-V. Glad your channel popped up man.
Good work! Man, I don't get it....I am well aware that my admiration for the "V" doesn't pay Caddy's bills, as everytime I made a new car purchase and it was in my top three, it never won. I could never get over the immense value their cars have used. I'm back in the market again in 2021....maybe the Blackwing, if they stick to the hype, and don't water it down.
FYI for anyone watching this in 2023 and considering ordering. The Alcantara /Suede actually is an option (separate) on the headliner/pillars/visors. Like $500 some odd dollars /separate from the steering wheel if you want alcantara /suede to match your steering wheel.
Came here after looking at TFL review. Very nicely done! Loved it.
Placed an order for one of these, in that fantastic silver too...CT5-V 2021...itll be a billion years before I get it, but its worth the wait...well done review...
Thanks for clarifying that this competes with the E-class and all. Really increases my interest in it!
This is the only caddy I'll buy..👏👏💯
Soon to trade In my 2015 ats 3.6 premium with performance pkg. I still get the wow factor everytime I drive my ats but ready for a change. The ct5v sounds amazing! All blacked out is the only way to go. Stunner!
“This car doesn’t look that great in white in my opinion”
Thanks, as I stare out the window at my white 2021 CT5-V, wondering if I should have gotten the dark red...
Edit: I’m beyond happy with the white :) beautiful choice!
Great video as usual, keep up the good work my brother!
You earned my subscription with this review. Good work!
Love the intro. Gets me PUMPED.
Great channel, I really like the presentation style. Subbed.
I like this guy , his channel is gonna blow
Up soon 🙌🏽
Yo caddy!
Give me that escalade dash and mood lighting, and you'd have a loyal customer.
Dude, if Cadillac picks up on that, they will sell a ton of these... Imagine having a CT5-V Blackwing with a manual transmission, mood lighting, 32-inch curved LED infotainment screen and the speakers in the headrests from the escalade. Sometimes I wish the head of product development at some of these companies. It frustrates me that a manufacturer with so much history and pedigree for luxury is just going to let their ass get handed to them by the germans.
@@dylanw890 exactly... Their management are some dumba$$es mentally.. They never get it. The market tells ya what's hot, and they are always on some on some BS that nobody wants
Facts idk how it doesn’t have interior lighting. And if they add that Escalade dash oof I’m def copping that.
That would be killer but I guess that's the selling point for the Escalade. They could make it a little smaller maybe 28 inch curve.
3rd rewatch. Keep the vids coming.
I see a lot of cars now short shifting and then the trans doing dumb stuff, including Acura. I can't even drive our Acura because the transmission does whatever it wants, in sport/manual mode, it still shifts automatically, otherwise it simply doesn't shift at all when the paddles are activated. I can't stand it when it holds the gear just because I gunned it for 2 seconds up an on ramp.
I've been away from Caddy for a while, but these new V series are pretty damn good.
I totally agree on the overall terrible marketing of Cadillac these days (when it comes to the cars). The CT5 is a damned excellent car, but until Cadillac learn how to sell cars, it’s all for nought. It’s a shame, the work of the designers, engineers and assembly workers is o dam good.
Excellent, thoughtful review, sir.
I watched your reiview multiple times, then I just bought a CT5-V with Plantium Pkg today with cash. Yeah, the driving experience defines premium and luxury not the interior design, lol, the interior material does feel premium though. the Exterior just stunning
Keep up with your works! My support will always be there. I would love to see more review in the future... btw would you guys do a X5 or X5M review? Would love to see that, Hopefully 🙃
Would love to get our hands on one to review. Thanks for watching our videos!
Great review bringing some unique perspective I have not heard elsewhere. High level of detail with some good humour. This is an interesting car and for me Cadillac has always been out of financial reach and lacking value - this model changes things - from someone looking to upgrade from a WRX but looking for fast nimble performance with some luxury.
View velocity. 10k already. Great work bro.
I'm picking mine up soon. I'm excited.!
I really like how you focus on the marketing end of things more than most car reviewers
Great video as always. It is a good looking car in grey or darker colors. I still hate that black plastic near D pillar. I think Caddy have been tweeners since original CTS. I think this is between 3 and 5. I still don’t understand why they stopped CT6. Hard to take Caddy seriously when they change names and stop making cars like CT6 after just 2-3 years.
Really love the style and content of your vids. I should’ve subscribed a while ago.
This was a great review the pacing was perfect with little to no unnecessary info. I didn't have to put it on 1.5 speed like most reviews lol
Really admire your style, approach! I want one!!!
I don't know why Cadillac did it call it a V-sport like the previous CTS.
because its not a cts nor is it s a v sport. its like the atsv for the new ct4/ct5 platform, since the ct4/ct5 are "replacing" the cts in terms of sport saloon
Great video 🖤🤙🏻'
beautiful car have one coming in a couple weeks, mad jealous of that garage though.
Pick mine up tomorrow! Damn hard car to find, dealership 2 hrs away! Cant wait.
8:53 The SD card slot is in the rear probably because the PDRs (performance data recorders) in thre ATS-Vs were there for better weight distribution.
This is a great color combo selection here. Looks sharp. Thanks for the video. 👍
I got a sweet pathfinder fully loaded and a ride like that will be highly complimentary
They market it down a class from the CTS because all the reviewers complained about the CTS rear seat room vs. E class and 5 series. They could have improved rear room by raising the roofline and seat cushion--instead they lowered them to copy Escala styling. But they didn't know the CT6 would be cancelled in NA.
How would you compare this to the 2019 cts v-sport?
Finally a reviewer that gets this is bigger than the 3 series and C-class cars. Sitting in this is WAY more comfortable than those German counterparts.
It is holding gear because you’re in track mode, it needs to keep the power. I believe once you switch to comfort or normal mode it will upshift
Facts, your meant to be pushing it with your throttle pretty far down out of a turn....also track mode should always be manaul shifting
nice review.. Subscribed 👍
Excellent video thanks
In your opinion what’s the best package you should get with this? Parking, Super cruise, platinum, premium? Please help this is in my top 3
Great Video, This video helped me decide to go with the CT5 V.
@@tintocherian7715 I did, Waited 3 months this for it. White with the 20" black wheels and sun roof. I constantly getting people asking me questions & complementing on it, definitely a neck breaker.
I will own a ct5v here soon. Love it. I currently own a 2015 ats 3.6 premium with performance pkg. I love it as well! I still get the "wow" factor everytime I drive it. Warranty is up here in 2021 and time to upgrade? Lol My ats is all blacked out with factory black shiny 19 inch wheels, beautiful.....
@@Travis73917 I want something different. Thought about atsv but same exact platform. Also I don't have an issue with my cue, just not a fan. Love the look of the ct5v v
My new favorite review channel
You need to review the Type-S when it comes out
Caddy was marketing to the right place (3, a4/s4,c43) .. 5 series, E are more likely to compete against SUV’s. This car performs handling, power and performance with the smaller class but you get more room . It’s a different way of competing.
The more I look at the CT5-V, the more I want one. I'm cross shopping this with the Acura TLX Type S, Audi S5, and Lexus IS 350/500 and so far from a value/total package perspective it's hard not to love. I only have a few gripes with it:
First, as a Cadillac, it's a GM. And since it's a GM, there's too much plastic where there shouldn't be. I really wish some of the plastic bits were carbon fiber, leather, suede, or other soft touch materials. It's not enough to bother most, but when you cross it with an Audi A/S5 or Merc, it's noticeable. Second, I wish they'd used better rear brakes. The front brakes are brilliant, but you can tell they cheaped out on the rear, which is odd considering it's a RWD platform. And lastly, like you mentioned, I wish the front brake intakes were larger. Joe Raiti also commented on how the front needs to be (more) functional, so this seems to be a common complaint.
I'm sure Cadillac is holding their punches for the Blackwings next year, and then some of those features/finishes will find their way into the mid-performance V lineup. Once those hit, it'll be hard to ignore this.
The new Honda Accord is best sedan on sale right. Most bang for your buck. Roomy, stylish, and a JDM product.
Love your work, one of few reviewers I usually agree with as well lol. Video work is excellent. If I could make one suggestion though. In the studio or garage a lot of your videos are really dark. The darker cars don't help either. But you need more light on the sides of the cars. Same issue here as with the 340i review as well. Just can't see the details.
U add the same amount of class to your reviews as the Products u reviews. The ONLY GO SITE for a no BS opinion .
Great review I agree totally with everything you were saying!
Great review of a fantastic car. I think the name issue is so overblown. Blackwings are coming and as you say, they’re so low volume as to not really provide what most buyers actually want and need.
Exactly, which is such a low volume car that will be sweet once it does arrive. However now they have one that you can use everyday.
@@ACCELER8TV Precisely. I love the halo cars, and I can’t wait to see them, but more choice is only good for the consumer!
Putting the SD card recorder in the back is a security feature. If it is in the front a thief can just reach in and take it whereas they would have to know it was in the rear to take it with them. This is just my opinion.
luv it,luv it,gotta have it
Thank God someone finally speaking truth. Why would this compete against the 3 when’s its bigger. Anyways I want one it grew on me even the back window
CT5v. Win.
That is the best thing
I’m still a huge fan of the 2015-2019 CTS’s. I think these newer cars look cheaper and tackier. Is that just me?
your not the only 1. The dash and interior layout of the CTS is nicer and has more quality than it's CT5 replacement.
@@tintocherian7715 it felt like it was more quality than the newer ones. These newer cars look like rentals lol
Mike, do you feel like Cadillac's decision to lower the price of the CT5 (relative to the last gen CTS) is a move that will help the brand grow sales in the long run? Although the last gen CTS pushed the bar in terms of luxury, the sales were lack-luster because they priced in direct competition with the German brands. The base 3rd gen CTS started at $47k and the V Sport started at over $60k. Now the base CT5 starts at $37k and the V Series at $47k. Folks do have some gripes about the interior not being as luxurious as they'd like but I do believe that it's reflected in the price so ultimately the value is there. And even tho they dropped the HP from 420 (CTS V Sport) to 360 (CT5 V) it makes more sense as a daily driver.
Absolutely correct, as I have a VSport. I have a 2015 VSport Premium 420hp/430ft. Got it 3yrs ago for a STEAL with 3k miles on it and a CPO for half the stick price. The dealer really did not know what he had. I have every option in the car and the final kicker is all of these cars 2014 -19 are limited edition only because of the marketing. They only made 344 total Premium and 321 Standard VSports for that year. The total numbers goes down dramatically each year. 2019 only 77 Prem and 101 standard sold.
Nice videos. Keep it up. Would be nice to see a Mercedes Benz GLA 45 AMG video,
Using my 2.0t ATS as reference, the shifting point running to redline is actually quite annoying due to how the torque curve hits, just saying
I checked through most of the comments but couldn’t find exactly what color the car is. Is it the Satin Steel?
Love the color!
I like it but no sunroof
How does this compare to the CT4v in driving dynamics? I'm drawn to the 4v because of its lighter weight and lower price. The 5v seems more luxury focused.
Bought the sleeper 550t
Great review
If they can re do the interior so that it looks like it's been inspired by the new escalde or new Cadillac Lyriq EV, I'll buy the CT5 V tommorow...
Next yr the CT4/5 get the full digital dashboard
Wish they wud just use the one from the 2021 Escalade...but I hear that will eventually trickle down into all models
@@JCRFit I'm 50/50 on the digital dash. Its cool, but I like a nice set of needles also.
I'm so torn on what to get. I'm a jeep guy. Been in a Mojave Wrangler for 11 years. It's time for a new ride. Not sure if I should get a new jeep or go with something like this. Hell the new jeeps have almost the same price tag as this caddilac.
They are comparing it in price and performance. If you put it to that it’s comparing with the new Acura type S, Genesis G70 3.3t, Kia Stinger GT2, Lexus IS350 f sport, etc the 3 series and C class Benz.
I want this car! Performance, gas mileage, luxury & style.
I really wish they'd sell cadillacs here in Australia
Great job but I was waiting on the 0-60 number
ive heard the downshifts are slow af but other than that pretty solid car
The way they are marketing the CT5 V makes sense from a pricing and power/performance standpoint...this specific model is a successor to the old CTS V Sport and is meant to compete with the Audi S4 and BMW M340I
the brand was dying, they had to do this. People need to not get so worked up over a name. Besides, Blackwing sounds cool, and it'll be nuts. I'm more worried if these cars are reliable than a silly name
I partially agree except for if it’s bigger, and your main push is handling against the Germans, then your already at a disadvantage... so just wanted to point that out!
Thanks for watching!
@@GoofieNewfie Cadillac was never “dying” with a $104,000 SUV as the #1 seller in America year in and year out. Watch your mouth. I’d definitely trust the CT5-V’s reliability over the Genesis G70, BMW 340, Mercedes-Benz C-43, Audi S4, and Alfa Romeo Giulia. That’s for *damn* sure, what else is there to choose from outside of that? Better question, after you’ve ruled out all of those brands who cares who’s left? Reliability of the 3.0 V6, and 10-speed automatic has proven to be more than just solid. They’re great.
@@mybro727 Cadillac has been dead last on every reliability chart for years. Watch my mouth? lol....step away from the keyboard man...take a deep breath, other people have opinions that might differ from yours.
@@GoofieNewfie While you’re reading outdated “reliability charts” customers are loving the 10-speed automatic transmission and the 3.0 twin turbocharged V6. I haven’t heard any issues, have you? Exactly. And yes watch your mouth, you idiots that post comments before doing any research to actually know something factual need new hobbies. Stop trolling. You sound dumb.
What color is this car ?
Bring back manual v cars in coupe sedan and wagon form. V8 supercharged with awd
Dude that’s a sweet ride
Is this faster than the CTS-V sport. The CTS-Vsport had 400hp.
The CTS V Sport has 420 hp and is at least a whole second faster than CT5 V which has a lot less horse power. CTS V Sport 0-60 4.4 Camaro SS 4.1 #VSportOwner
CT5V is what Audi did with their S4 . The S4 was more performance than the 335/C350, but less than a M3/C63. It’s just odd that caddy did the process backwards. But it got people talking. If it was still marketed as a V sport nobody would notice. Who remembers the CTS V-Sport?
Don’t listen to the negative comments. The video and content is great.. your suppose to use your hands while talking .
It might be outdated but would you review a CT6?
Not feeling this car but the ct5 v black wing that’s coming out
The best review I have seen on this car yet. Hold this subscription my guy. Great vid.
@@ACCELER8TV Anytime, I cant wait until you get your hands on a G70 or 80. Your camera angles and lighting will really bring out the beauty of those cars.
I have own 2 cadillacs and I will tell you they are the most undependable vehicles on the road. Sure they look great but In 2 years you will have a frustrated owner. It's not marketing that failed it's the brand reputation for dependability.
9:00 there is probably a good reason for the SD card slot to be located there: The camera is probably nearby, and having longer cables limits the speed the camera can push data into the card which translates to video quality.
I actually am going to buy one, it looks nice, and great price...gona get one.
And the cts v was pushing something like 610hpw. Can’t compare this to the previous cts
Gorgeous looking Caddy. I have a Ats and still get the WOW factor after 3 years everytime I drive it. I wish I could reasonably afford a blackwing but the ct5v is my next whip! Lol
