In this Dye Time, I hand paint a new to me, unusual plant based fibre; banana! I treated this like I do any other plant based fibres and I'm so happy with the results! The fibre was a bit raggedy once I'd finished dyeing it, but that made no impact on how it was spun. This was a very interesting experience and the whole way through, I kept saying to myself "I can't believe this is made from bananas!"
Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.
