In this Dye Time, I dye some new to me fibre, rose. I speckled with sweet pea and used a pipette to add drops of liquid mermaid's dream, both fibre reactive dyes from Dharma. I wasn't afraid of leaving white and I'm glad I did. I love this fibre. What do you think? This was a very interesting experience and the whole way through, I kept saying to myself "I can't believe this is made from roses!"
Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.

I have a monthly yarn subscription that can be purchased through my Patreon: / fromthecauldron Each month you'll receive 100g of yarn in your chosen weight dyed in a mystery colourway and some goodies made by other small businesses. Another perk for Patreons is they get early access to the video where I dye that month's yarn and they get to vote for next month's theme.

This is lovely. Makes me think of mother of pearl.

Thank you! I agree. I didn't set out to dye something that reminded me of mother of pearl, but I do love how these things turn out.
