I had so much fun dyeing those ankle socks (Dye Time #160 • Dye Time #160: Ice Dye... , Dye Time #161 • Dye Time #161: Tie Dye... , Dye Time #163 • Dye Time #163: Ice Dye... , Dye Time #165 • Dye Time #165: Bag Dye... and Dye Time #167 • Dye Time #167: Tie Dye... ) that I bought another pack of socks to dye. This time I accidentally bought socks that were 74% viscose instead of cotton socks. Viscose is a man made fibre from wood pulp and it take up dye amazingly. Red and orange was a colour combination I wanted to use last time but I ran out of socks. So this time I made sure that red and orange was the first combination I used.
Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.

I have a monthly yarn subscription that can be purchased through my Patreon: / fromthecauldron Each month you'll receive 100g of yarn in your chosen weight dyed in a mystery colourway and some goodies made by other small businesses. Another perk for Patreons is they get early access to the video where I dye that month's yarn and they get to vote for next month's theme.
