2:33 Connor hit them with the “Nah, I’d win”
2:46 They synchronized AGAIN
In certain parts of the US, we call that feeling of overeating the "Itis"
And Canada. But I haven't heard that term used in a while
There's lots of really good but not well known Korean restaurants in Arakawa-ku in Tokyo. It used to be the main Korea Town before Shin-Okubo blew up and is still a little more old-school than the more touristy experience in Shin-Okubo.
Connor was letting his inner viking out this episode
Preferring Korean BBQ in LA over Korea actually makes sense. LA's Koreatown has the biggest population of Koreans outside of Korea itself, so the Korean food scene there is generally authentic. The USA is a huge country whereas Korea is a small nation (that's been divided in half). So there's more space in America to raise cattle and build bigger restaurants. That's probably why you tend to have more options in a LA restaurant than a Korea restaurant.
Also, my understanding is that modern Korean BBQ really originated in the US, not Korea. Because Korea used to be a pretty poor country and it was very difficult to get meat, especially during the Korean War. But when Korean immigrants moved to the US, they suddenly had access to all kinds of different, affordable ingredients, particularly meat. So I think the modern Korean BBQ boom really started in the US.
That’s kinda cap bro… as weird as it sounds, Korean food in Korea is not authentic
It's the type of soda used for the marinate. Sprite/7up is my favorite.
I won't really say Hongdae is the best place to have food. They do have a good variety of 'good' restaurants but there are many other good places in Seoul to have Korean Fried Chicken, Korean BBQ, etc.
The main reason I think why the 'limited cuts' issue happened is because there are a lot of specialized Korean BBQ restaruants here - to have more diverse cuts you have to find the place that DO serve different cuts.
If we're talking about the animals themselves, Korea's main meat source is pork, chicken, and beef - others are quite hard to find as a tourist, coming for the first time.
I do wish they give Seoul another chance - but to a different part of seoul, just because the 'touristy' cities do have quite a bit of tourist traps indeed.
When I go to all you can eat bbq, I make sure to eat other things like rice because it also keeps my palette cleansed from all the fat from meat. But I prefer yakiniku because their meats tend to be focused more on marinade while kbbq in America their meat tends to be just plain unless you do spicy.
I'm with Connor on the meats, I can eat an ungodly amount of meat, but 5 mins after finishing I feel incredible like I could fist fight the world, I don't know what it is but I love it 💪
........PAUSE!
Lol I'm jk I feel the same way dude. A nice juicy steak medium rare with the mashed potatoes 👌🏾
From experience, not all kbbq place in Korea serve all meat types (i.e. many specialise in pork or beef) hence the "limited variety"
Cornor : Meat makes me light 👁️👄👁️
Grilling meat is one of the most primal human cooking experiences. Add a bunch of tasty side dishes, beer/soju and some friends and you're guaranteed a good time
back with the hot food takes! love to see them
韓国の焼き肉は豚肉がほとんど。牛肉はないのかと聞くと高級で食べられないと韓国在住夫婦が言っていた。牛肉が一般的に食べられない事が不思議でならない。
No wonder Connor has the most cholesterol of the 3 of them
"What did you like and not like about Korea?"
Keeps on talking only about K BBQ and meat sweats..... 💀
It's better in the state because of the quality of the produce and meat
I live in Korea and you have to avoid those chain places for bbq 😂 especially the all you can eat. It’s not bad but the meat quality isn’t great
Connor was born to be a Jojo fan
Went to a pub where they do a 1kg steak challenge. Eat it in 20 minutes it's half price. No thanks. Biggest steak I can handle is about 350g. The Yank in our party did it tho', but even he regretted it. Said he was constipated for a week. :)
I need it!!!
This but every time someone says "meat" Connor's voice gets higher pitched.
I feel like a trash human after eating a big bowl of ramen but I don’t feel as bad when I eat nothing but meat and veg at kbbq
I reckon it’s because there is so much that goes in just one bowl of ramen
Kbbq isn’t as complex and harsh on you? I mean it’s just meat for godsakes.
Come on hire a local guide for goodness sake
that's a Jojo fan right there..
M E A T
The meat sweats is usually followed by the meat sh*ts... it's overwhelming for the body to digest, & beef & pork are greasy. If I eat more than a palm size of meat I throw up... I think it's crazy to like the meat sweats!! ughhhh
Never heard that sh#* anywhere else... and I know some pretty weird people...
Connor so american
I'm with connor meat makes me feel great not heavy

Because it tastes good? Come up with better clickbait, dawg.
