I was the caretaker for a 103 year old lady (sadly she passed away about 4 months ago) but before she passed, watermelon was a staple of her diet because she basically refused to drink water in any significant quantity, but was willing to gleefully devour several large bowls of watermelon (balled for convenience) a day and that provided her with ample hydration. Watermelon is a SSS tier fruit, though I personally prefer a really good cherry. (bing cherry, specifically. not rainier)
bananas are mid b tier at best, and would be lower if banana bread wasn't a thing.

Watermelon is the most hit or miss fruit ever. If it is PERFECTLY ripe, it’s delicious. Otherwise it ranges from bland to disgusting. I love watermelon (as did my late grandfather), but that shit better be in season when I eat it!
No it's a banana,the smell of a banana alone can condition because whether they like it or not. Personally I dislike bananas,I can only consume it through banana bread or banana milkshake
Absolutely not. There is definitely a difference between ripe and not, but it's not all that huge.
Bananas are actually the WORST in this. There's literally about a single hour that a banana tastes good.
You can take a watermelon home, open it 5 days later, put the leftovers in the fridge and finish it another 5 days later without issue.
And MOST fruits are worse than that. Pear, Peach, Apple, Persimmon, Mango and just about any small round fruit is way more delicate.
Melon, Pineapple, and the one big exception, Orange. Those are the ones that depend less on exact ripeness. Just about every other fruit is more difficult than Watermelon

There are very few things that feel as good as coming home on a hot Summer day and finding sliced watermelon in the fridge.
What Joey mentioned as side dish for chicken paprikash, nokedli, are what Germans call Spätzle, and it's a staple of Central European cuisine. He says it's halfway between bread and pasta, but it's actually closer to egg pasta, I'd say. He should try Käsespätzle, spätzle with melted cheese and fried onions.
they're best just fried in butter, with a bit of salt, makes a full dish by itself.

I have no problems with banana, but I don't really crave one. It's a bit too dry and mushy and I don't like that (in my fruit).
bananas vary widely depending on how ripe they are, they become more juicy when the dark spots are starting to appear.

Same, chinese american here. He makes a good point, things people consider a "bad" texture is just the norm for people who grew up with it, so texture is less of an issue for me.

A good banana is at most B tier. And I've tried several kinds. Watermelon is more hit or miss, especially now since it's become widely available (it always has been in the US but I'm talking about global availability). It can be A tier if you're lucky but it can be as low as a C tier. My favorite is strawberries or cashew fruit. Peaches are so rarely good anymore that I don't even bother. Same goes for nectarines.
I highly agree with Joey and Garnt that Watermelon is a lot better then Banana when i eat Banana it's kinda like that feeling you get when you eat too much sugar it may not be sugar but it gives that same feeling

Banannas are the most filling i think one is 140 calories while watermelon is 90% water so its light and the complete opposite if you’re on a diet like me you’ll choose watermelon for that juice but if we talking for a filling snack banana is the way to go and if u fry it man unreal the flavor

Bananas are nowhere near my favourite fruit but I cannot handle this slander. I agree with Connor that they are quick and easy to eat and have lots of good flavour. I eat them way more than a lot of other fruit (ie apple and orange) because of their convience. Meanwhile, me personally, I don't really like watermelon. It has annoying seeds, is really messy to eat (and the stickiness makes me feel uncomfortable when the jucie dries up on my hands), takes longer to eat and doesn't have much flavour to boot (not like I'm that keen on the taste anyways). I'd rather try straight watermelon juice if I wanted to get the flavour. Bananas are better overall imo

Pineapple, Kiwi, Oranges, peaches, nectarines, plums, strawberries, blue berries, grapes you know all the good juicy fruit that are bursting with flavor are S tier.
Apples are A tier. Apples are crisp and have a satisfying crunchy texture along with varying flavor profiles from sweet to tart depending on the type you buy.
Bananas and Melons are B tier. Melons (honeydew, cantaloupe) are aight they have some flavor going on, but it's not anything to brag about. Bananas are a solid all rounder but like melon the flavor isnt anything to be wowed over.
WaterMelon C tier. Watermelon is so wank, literally just weak flavored water, I could not fathom why you would opt for it over anything else. Every other option is better than it. I will never understand the obsession I see over it. I'll take nearly any other fruit over it it's that shit.
