Years ago, when Coleman was possibly going to fight Brock (but didn’t)I was in Vegas.
2 or 3 in the morning winding it down and walking back into the mgm. My buddy and I look up and 10 feet in front of us is Coleman. It was late and he was visibly tired but I still went up to shake his hand and tell him how big a fan I was. He stopped what he was doing. Took pictures, which then caused more people to start milling around. I apologized and he could not have been nicer. Said something to the effect of “ The fans pay our bills, I love ‘em.”
Years later messaged him on social media relating the story, not expecting to hear back. Dude replied, and was as cool as a cucumber. Humble again.
Prayers for hammer and his family. The man is genuine.
He seems like a everyday man anytime I've seen him in a interview. Chael was wrong about the situation though. Mark wasn't passed out inside the house and that's where he was found by police. Him and his parents were all 3 outside of the house when police who were 1st to respond showed up. Said Mark was coughing and wheezing. I'm sure he will beat this, especially since he's sober and healthier than he has been for a while.. it's better to be put into a coma so that his body can heal faster and his body will come back to normal vitals..
God Bless him !!
Proof or you're a liar
@@ppcbernier9945nope he’s actually a great dude
Thhhhhhheeee hhhhhhammmmmeeerrrrrr
Unfortunately the dog did not make it out, it was included in the story I read. Prayers to Mark Coleman and his family. The world needs more people like him. A true hero
Hammer is an unsung hero. Extremely sad to find out that he didn't make it. Gutted, really .Hoping that Mark does. I'm sure he will.
I cant stop thinking about him and the brutal awakening ahead when he will learn his dog, his buddy, didnt make it
Mark wasn't passed out inside the house when police showed up.. Mark and his parents were both outside, Mark was coughing and wheezing.. chael sonnen didn't get his facts right before recording a video
Hammer saved everyone
Damn
That dog saved all their lives and Mark didn’t hesitate to try and return the favor.
As a father, a son, and a dog owner, this makes me want to cry. I hope he pulls through
It's tough, brother. Very tough.
Mark is responsive and aware, as reported by Dave Meltzer a couple of minutes ago.
I’m a father, son, dog owner, school mma fan, and fan of altruism. I feel you.
We get so close to our pets its tough.
I did cry
It was reported 1 hour ago that Mark and his parents are alive and well. He said "my parents are alive, im the happiest man in the world"
Hammer didnt make it though unfortunately. RIP you little hero ❤
I am so happy for him. Thank God this is what the story progressed to .
Dave Meltzer reported 5 minutes ago that Mark is both responsive and aware still in hospital. The dog, Hammer unfortunately didn’t make it.
Dave Meltzer wouldn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground
Mark Coleman is a straight up warrior, some people are just built different.💪
Really hopes he pulls through.
There is no diference between Hero and coward , inside they are exacly alike , both scared of losing , scared of death or being hurt , the only difference is that Hero does something that make him a Hero and the other guy dont do nothing and thats make him a coward
@michail99999 ok thanks for that irrelevant information

I am suffering from Avascular necrosis on both femoral heads. Need both hips replaced. I have large non healing wound’s On my lower legs cause by edema. They require cleaning multiple times a week. It’s so painful and have to shuffle to walk even with crutches.
Over two years now I’m waiting for a procedure that will remove e some badly damaged valves in my
Major veins and arteries. Held up by insurance, I’m happy to say this Friday I’ll be getting the vein surgery that will help heal the ulcers. My legs look awful. They hurt and I’m frustrated.
However, Mark is my inspiration. He bounced back after some hip issues and kept going. He finally got some much needed relief and BAM… life
His encouraging words to me, a person he didn’t know at all made my frustrations and hope become easier to cope with. Watching him battle, makes me wanna battle. I’m proud of Mark and how far he came back from. I know you will pull through.. you have Randelman looking day at you, an angel fighting for you.
Mark we all love you brother. Wake up and realize how you are a Hero. A true warrior. Prayers my friend
Good luck 🙏
Good luck and God bless you mate. I see that you maybe a true warrior yourself.
Keep going. Every day. If you demand and expect it, things will get better
Wish u the best 🎉
God bless you, hang in there and keep fighting.
If Dana can skip a nelk boy donation for his GoFundMe that would be great
This would be nice, but it wouldn't gain Dana any clout with the idiot 15 year Olds that make up the Nelk boy fan base.
Dana should just take the bill himself and pay whatever bills that come in. I’m sure whatever the costs would be minimal to the amount of good will it would bring to the ufc.
@@mikecrossman4010So Dana is just going to pay all the medical bills of the tens of thousands of people he has come across in business? Are they friends? Dana promoted maybe a few of his fights. Why don't the Pride promoters donate as well? He might donate something but real charity is not done for publicity. It's done anonymously. BTW, I pray Mark Recovers.

That dog is a hero too, man Mark has always been a badass but this is bigger then all his world titles, hope you make it through this Mark you deserve it! Godfather of GnP! What a true legendary human being, what he did was beyond words... Hell of a way to go out if you do go man, god bless Coleman.
Its an honor to call Coleman my coach. Not many people survive what he went through. Absolute savage of a human.. and when we talk about some of the most legendary humans to walk the earth, he's at the top Chael.... RIP to hammer the dog... absolutely heartbreaking.
I grew up watching UFC on VHS. Coleman was one of my favorites back then. I was at a Tough man contest in southern Ohio, at 17 years old, when I got to meet him. I was ringside and was getting amped up as a kid, looking forward to fighting Tough Man the next year once I hit 18. Music was loud in between fights and people were moving around, when I felt some hands lay on my shoulders a bit harder than I thought they should in my 17 year old, amped up mind. I spun around like I was gonna whip somebody's ass. I was staring, eye level, at a very wide chest. Coleman just looked at me with a smile on his face like I was cute. My buddy came running from a few rows back. He slapped me on the back and said, "You almost got knocked out by the champ!" Me, my buddy and Mark all had a laugh in that moment. Much respect to Mark Coleman.
Did you end up fighting at 18?
@@uncouthboy8028 I didn't. When I was watching the competition within my weight class at 17, it looked like a fun time and an easy 500 bucks or whatever they were paying at the time. By the next year there was a guy that came into the weight class that would've been a problem for me. Haha. You didn't get paid unless you won all your fights and I had to be realistic after seeing the guy. I would've walked away with nothing to show for it but a beating.
Mark will pull through
He’s responsive and aware! !! Reported by Dave Meltzer 6 minutes ago
Amen
@@flyeball huge news. was trying to see if they had any updates.. thanks for that.
If he makes it he has to change his name to Charcoalman.
Mark is one of the nicest people I've ever met super humble
In the past he proved he was one of tha 'baddest' men on the planet. Now he proved he was one of the best men on the planet.
Man... I love Mark. He was married to Kelly, who was a friend of mine in high school, during his early UFC run.
He was so incredibly cool when i met him, and he always remembered my name after. He and Kell would come into my work (Max&Ermas) in Columbus, and i would joke and ask him to "punch me,"and "put me outta my misery!" He came back with, "it'd hurt me more to punch you, trust me." This was right after he fought Mo. I saw him a long time down the road when he was training other fighters, and still remembered my name and asked me how i was doing and how my family was. I was working on Bethel Rd. In Columbus at a bar and he and Kevin Randelman came in, obviously, these two could've ran through that bar in under a minute, but when a fight broke out they both snatched up guys and "walked" them outside, no questions asked. He is truly a humble, and amazing man. I wish that i knew him better, but i guarantee he is a loving father and friend. My prayers are with him today and always. I pray with his daughters and his loved ones to stay strong an positive. God bless you "Hero, and Hammer" Mark Coleman, you will BEAT THIS! God bless.....🙏.....❤
He spent a saturday afternoon in my bar on 161 when I was bartending back in '07. Nicest guy, cool to talk to. I grew up and live in Columbus, have always known about and followed Mark since he was a Champion wrestler at Ohio State. He's one of the good guys.
RIP to mark Coleman dog hammer 😔 praying for Coleman.

That love and bond resonates.
The relief and joy that he expressed that he knew he got them out alive .
Broke me up
Praying for Mark. He did what many of us tell ourselves we would do if put in that situation but none of us truly know until the day that moment arrives. He saved his parents without regard for his own life. What he did is the definition of heroism. I hope he beats this… and I agree with Chael.. if anyone can pull through this, it’s Mark Coleman. These champions are a different breed.. Remember when people said Matt Hughes would never pull through after he got hit by a fucking train? …Don’t count Mark out too soon. He has a warrior’s heart, and we should all be in his corner on this!!
It's like chael is talking directly to us individually
Real talk Im drinking Jocko Milk listening
I was shocked reading about it because its literally insane what happened. I can hear the pain in your voice Chael i hope Mark pulls through he deserves to see the outcome.
He'll pull through. Mark wasn't found unconscious in the house like Chael reported. The police arrived first and found Mark and parents outside the house. Mark was standing, coughing and wheezing. He was conscious until he was placed into a coma at the hospital.

If there’s anybody who can make it through, it’s a guy like him. Dude is a unit. Big prayers and thoughts.
Can’t keep the hammer down. Prayers for Coleman and his family.🙏🏾
This kid I went to elementary school with he was a nerdy kid but a bigger kid now that I look back at it he was just a all around good guy I can’t remember him ever being rude or anything back then I was one of those kids who thought it was cool to play into all the shit kids do but now when I look back at him hes a hero. His house burned down twice (pretty crazy coincidence) the first time I’m pretty sure there house just burnt down but the second time we were in high school then we were in different high school when I heard the story but his younger brother was trapped in the house when all the family got out when he realized he ran back in and literally saved his brother life his brother is still head to toe completely scared when I see pictures on Facebook the older brother the one I knew seems to be a lot better but my god I can’t imagine that courage he had that night to run into that house he’s one of the biggest hero’s I think in my home area I’ll never forget that just because of how I said at first it’s the exact story of don’t judge a book by its cover with his glasses on he was just some nerdy guy but fuck man when those glasses came off in the middle of the night he turned into super man I’ll never loose respect for him I was never that big of friends with him in school more just class mates but fuck he was a tough kid and I think I’ve been through a lot it always shows that there’s always someone bigger badder and tougher then you no matter what circumstances.
Seeing Chael choked up is something serious... let's go 🔨!!!
I hope Mark pulls through. Prayers for him and his family.
God bless his family
A tear just fell from heaven, and my cheek for Mark Coleman! Thank The father for men like Mark Coleman!
Mark is one of my all time favorites. I met him a few times at fights (he was there in the crowd at each event) back in like 05’ ish. We would travel to see fights all over back then as a group I walked up just to say hi and shake his hand. The next 2 times he remembered us and just hung out He was such a genuine human being. He didn’t have to stop and talk, and did it like he knew me my whole life. Baddest man on the planet stops to just hang out at a fight 3 different times. This is tough. I pray for healing and a full recovery. I pray for his family to have strength during this time. As a sons, dads and a dog owners this should hit ALOT of us men close to home. Pray for Mark!
I hope he pulls through just so he can see how much he means to us as a community! Get well soon OG Mark Coleman!
Prayers and good energy for Mark
Mark is a f**king legend. This just takes his legend to a completely different level. I hope he pulls through.
Prayers Hammer! This could be any of us!?
Mark is super human, he will make it through this!
God bless Mark in his time of need. 🙏
Even if he doesn't pull through this battle he passes a hero, a warrior on his shield. Crazy his greatest accomplishment has nothing to do with his combat sports career.
Prayers for Mark Coleman
There’s not too many men like Mark Coleman I’m from Sandusky Ohio home of Kevin Randleman met Mark plenty of times he’s a great man
What a legend praying 🙏 for him burns are worst pain very sad cmon Mark pull through
he may have had a great career, but at the ripe age of 59 is when he truly proved what a warrior he is. this was his best performance yet
Mark colemans story of recovering is the best story I’ve heard all year 🙏🏼
I helped pull a man from a house fire a year ago. Some people think, "I'll run through the flames, I'm getting everyone out."
After less than 1 minute in that home, I couldn't breathe, i couldn't see, and could feel the hair burned from my face and hands. It was hotter than I could EVER have imagined. Thankfully, we had a lot of help, we found the guy at the last minute and got him out.
Mark is an absolute savage and a fkin legitimate hero. He knew that he was likely sacrificing his own life, and he went back in anyway..... My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans. Praying for Mark's full recovery.
You never know when the fight of your life is going to go down. Damn.
Man I love my dog. My worst fear is him being in my house and it catching on fire when I'm not there. I would have done the same thing trying to save him. I hope Mark can make a recovery. Thank God the dog woke him up so he could save his parents.
Yep me too man. I have 6 dogs so I would do what I have to do
They don’t make them like mark Coleman anymore…,a complete different breed of man!!!I don’t pray but I will say a little one for his recovery and he’s family well being💯❤️
Mark is awake and responsive!!
I live in Columbus, Ohio and have always been a huge OSU Buckeye Fan of many of their sports teams. I followed Mark Colman when he wrestled for The Buckeyes and he was a Beast to say the least! Many years later when he decided to go into the brand new world of MMA, myself and many of his Fans followed along. As he proceeded in his career it became very obvious as well what a tremendous person he was away from his sport and his chosen profession. Always cordial, no airs about him....what you saw was how he was....period. So, when I heard and then read about this situation...I immediately thought "I'd expect nothing less out of this guy" Balls To The Wall even in regular life! MOO From COW-lumbus To All 👋
Mark is off the vent and talking!!!! Just read, as of fri 3/15 11a. Says "I'm the happiest man in the world". Walked through a burning house fire not once, but 3 times to save both his parents and literally gave his all to go back again to save his dog. What a heart! What a hero! Doesn't hurt to have Mark "the Hammer" Coleman for a son. 🙏
I'm hoping he get's excellent care, he really deserves it.
This story brought a tear to my eyes. I grew up watching Coleman fight
Mark Coleman was already tough as nails before he chose to run into a burning home multiple times to save his parents, now he's a true hero. I can't send enough positive thoughts and energy his way right now, hopefully he can pull through this. And RIP to Hammer, that dog is a hero too.
Praying for the Coleman family.
He done what we men always say we’d do. It takes a different sort of man to actually go through it. Prays to him and his family. Legend❤
The dog earned his wings. 🪽🪽
They always do.
Its a fact that all dogs go to heaven.
Great vid Chael. You’re absolutely right.
I like how he didn’t add a commercial at the beginning. Shows class
God bless that puppy
God bless him and his family, can’t imagine the pain he’s going through. So touching and humbling couldn’t help but shed a few tears, Mark is a superhero.
The article I shared on FB said the dog(Hammer) didn't make it. This breaks my heart because as much of a hero Mark is/was...Hammer was the bigger hero. Hammer made it possible to save Mark who saved his parents. It saddens me to think why Hammer didn't make it to safety. I'm thinking he didn't leave Marks side and the fire was harsher on him because he has so much more hair. Or worse, I'm thinking Mark went into Hulk mode while carrying his parents out and stepped on his own dog and then went back in to save his best friend. It sucks either way. But I pray that Mark recovers and they can celebrate the life of their hero.
What is he made of? A real life Superhero. It broke my hear when he came around he was talking about his dog. I never cry but this cut me up big-time.
Prayers to Mark and his family 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'll never forget watching Coleman fight Fedor in Japan. After the fight, his daughters came into the ring and they were really little and they were upset because their daddy was beat up and bloody. He hugged them and said, "It's okay, babies. This is my friend Fedor", and Fedor shook their hands and greeted them warmly. Coleman didn't give a damn about anything else in the world at that moment except his little girls.
Honestly, despite how bad of a situation this is, I’m happy mark is getting the respect he deserves, I’ve seen him training at his age working hard to overcome injuries, and despite being out of his prime, I would see nothing but hate towards him on his instagram telling him to hang it up and calling him an old man. Glad people get to see the real him. Most people in his situation would think for themselves, mark is built different tho.
This is something you dont forget, i literally went through the same thing with my cousins parents when their house caught on fire in the middle of the night. 2 dogs and both parents we could get out but the pipelines melted and we couldnt use water to throw on the fire so we literally grabbed milk to try to get to one dog that was sadly not able to get out... frozen in fear and we couldnt get to him without possibly dieing ourselves. Had to go get some oxhygen and bloodwork afterwards but he'll be fine. Its a mental thing more than anything. He did everything he could.
Damme wake up to wake up hear this. Pray for this man. God bless mark
And a day after this is posted he wakes up and gets to see his family. What a fucking warrior. Real life superhero!!!!
Mark pulled through his awake and aware. His daughters shared a video of them with their dad on his Instagram.
Coming back to this video after the announcement that he would wrap the BMF belt around the winner come UFC 300. What a story. I never cared about the BMF belt, but this is possibly the most befitting way to honor this man.
