@dontbugme7362 i believe the insinuation was/is that, since we (as Americans that is) [still] maintain & operate Gitmo...aka the US Department of Defense installation Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and (both generally speaking, as well as specifically referencing/inferring, I'm assuming), and then once you take their comment about the U.S.'s [complicity, involvement, support, perpetuation, etc., of] "torture" in that context, well then... we're basically just hypocrites; no different, and not really any better, even as the self-righteous conquerors (that we are) than the (allegedly "evil" & "wrong" people who, by the time we're finally done, become the) vanquished. Essentially, increasingly more often these days, and over the last several decades, & pretty much ever since our victory following the end of WWII, we, not just as Americans... but also along with our allies, [most of] western & central Europe, as well as a few other nations from across the globe, which together basically form & shape "the West" (e.g. [the global perspective of] Western Civilization) have been, for nearly almost a century at this point, and (more importantly) STILL currently ARE..until/unless there's profound change, will continue to remain/be viewed/treated the same, moving ahead into future times... very much conflated, similarly compared, placed into the same camp(s), perceived, treated, etc. as pretty much one & the same damn thing as the very adversaries & enemies.... which, by the way, -FAR more often than naught- whenever we as a nation & global SUPERpower, decide to step up, "defend" ourselves (and/or our friends/partners/allies) or "protecting all of humanity" or to fight for/bring "freedom, liberty & justice," and/or "bring or deliver democracy" to someplace else, what that nowadays, all to often REALLY truly means, unfortunately: target, villify, corrupt, compromise, leverage, manipulate, undermine, subvert, destabilize, indebt, attack, invade, subdue, destroy, control, etcetera any & all nations which suffer the misfortunes of & are unlucky enough to wind up falling right smack dab into/within our [iron] sights... "and, the rest," as 'they' say, "is history..."
Btw: this is all coming from a guy (me) who genuinely, deeply, passionately, in fact, absolutely LOVES, respects, appreciates, truly cares about, supports, protects & defends his country...THIS country.. OUR country.. the hands-down very best country, that ever was, IS or likely ever will be... that is (per Ben Franklin's now famous quote, regarding the founding & holding onto our [Constitutional] Republic), "if we can keep it..."
I believe we can, but just because that's how I think/feel ain't enough. it's gonna take actual, real, HARD work, and at the rate we're going, in the direction we're already headed, I dare say that it may also very well necessitate some incredibly long, difficult, savage & brutal fighting. Fighting who, you ask? Of that, I'm still not entirely sure yet...

It’s just not right. It’s twisted to send women off into harms way or encourage them to do so with the lie that they are the same as men. They are better than men and should not be subjected to that. They are the cultivators of the civilization that men are to defend. It’s not hating women at all, it’s appreciating them for who God made them. I served in the military long enough to retire and saw advancements in my time that may not have been possible in any other venue, but my entrance into the military was during the time of the Vietnam war, though never sent there, I enjoyed the many opportunities that were afforded me as a member of the military and was "gung ho". I got to serve in Germany and South Korea twice and was firmly ensconced into the believe that the military was the "righteous" arm of our country. After retiring my experiences and memories were of those I had served with and was horrified by 9/11. When our country decided to invade Afghanistan and then Iraqi I was in full support. Then 2016 happened and slowly afterward became aware that my support for my government in conducting this conflict was not in the best interest of our country. I cannot count the number of times I supported the governments incursion into these areas and was very vehement about it. After 2016 it became apparent there was something wrong with these pictures and it dawned on me the American people were played and manipulated in supporting these conflicts solely for the enjoyment of those defense contractors and those in government were there to justify its continuance. All the lives lost, not only in Afghanistan and Iraqi but as well Vietnam and even more eye opening has been the conflict that was created with Ukraine and Russia just for the defense contractors. My allegiance is to my country and the people of the United States, not to those who sacrifice on the altar of convenience the lives of our young men and women only for the sake of those in the defense industry. Our borders are being invaded and nothing is being done about it, but we can sacrifice the youth of our nation in a made up conflict. My distrust and disgust with my government makes me sick in my soul and not only my stomach.

Even the interaction with strangers who try to "Catch" him in his private life, he always responds with respect. He is a much better guy than I am.

I remember them saying Osama and Saddam had a meeting "so there must be terrorist cells in Iraq". YEARS later it come out that in the meeting Osama asked if he could have training camps there and Saddam said no way. But I mean think about it. WHY THE HELL would a dictator want another heavily armed group with heaps of guns THAT HE DOESN'T CONTROL HIMSELF in his country. I mean that's the ONE chance of being overthrown internally and he doesn't need them so why risk it?

Because USA was never a "Colonial Power", we suck at Nation building. Saddam and the true colonial powers were ruthless at maintaining control That is how it is done.
But there was also 2 major failures that occurred in Iraq. # 1 Brenner (I think that was his name), disbanded the Iraqi military and that left an unprecedented power vacuum. Iraq was full of weapons and ex-soldiers who knew how to use them. (Unlike MacArthur who kept the Japanese military in service to ensure nation could function. Patton did the same in his zone in Europe.)
#2 Iran is bordered by Iraq in the West and Afghanistan in the East. They knew they would be next after Iraq was subdued. To prevent that from happening Iran insured all of the Shia militias were well armed and supplied with terrorists and fighters. The "Insurgency" was stoked by Iran our mistakes.
(To keep the costs down, the number of troops sent was kept low. That allowed massive amounts of unguarded munitions and weapons to disappear from unguarded stockpiles.)

Webster Tarpley was a great analytical mind and I learned from him that just as important as opportunity is to an event, so too is ability to actually carry out an event. So you can have somebody like the US Sabre rattling and kicking out proposals that take us direct to nuclear war based upon ideology or desire that ill intent is in fact inertia. Tucker's last statement about all thinking something and the spontaneous combustion that follows is real. We are daily moving the pieces as quietly as possible to a European war that will not turn into Ukraine 2.0
But these pieces moving, NATO exercises and inflammatory statements have caused the PRC and Russian Federation to remind us they have no problem doing the unthinkable while we are busy deciding how to save Ukraine's borders when we can't even save our own...
