We turned our BMW E36 Rally Car into a Drift Car with overfenders, an angle kit, and the sickest Work wheels we could find. But can we drift all of Apple Valley Speedway in it?

@@michaelshaw6242 i agree. it feels like we, the audience lost so much of the action. one of these mods alone could have been a whole episode alone. the new videos also feel so out of touch. it feels like they are showing us things as if we were a crowd watching from a distance compared to how the old moneypit episodes were when it felt like we were there following zach through every step. also i dont think time is the issue. they still did all the mods. all the recording. they just didnt go in depth.
anyway i miss their old style of content. now it just feels like im reading a summary of every video they do

I miss up to speed and their deep dive segments into awesome cars and car tech, but there's only so much they can do on those topics. Both of those segments have over a 100 videos in them.
Or maybe something like a video series where they go over a car from BUMPER TO BUMPER?
Maybe Up to Speed could return with episodes about well known modification makers(like Rocket Bunny which they already did)

Kinda sad to see was always hoping the rally car would come back and we would actually get to see some first time rallying. already have the Z's for drifting but hey maybe Zac just wanted his own drift car i guess? Not much good rally content out there so always hoped it would come back
Rally guys are just such a minority outside Europe honestly, best thing we got was watching Ken Block with his factory Hyundai wrc car
Me too m8, I was really excited for this build as a rally car. I love drift cars as much as the next guy and the car does look sick, but I wanted to see a cool offroading machine coming outa this thing. Still a good video!
The beamer should have always been a drift car. They should have used a Scooby, Evo or Audi for the ralley car. Something with AWD
i feel u, rally in NA is so far behind our euro bros, also considering how hatches and small cars are like the least popular body types in the NA market it makes sense that donut wouldnt be focusing on a rally based car, their audience is mostly NA too
and theres already a billion drift builds now, maybe soon in the future things will swing towards rally but i doubt 😪
@@linds6609 there are a lot of drift cars on the internet, donut already made some drift cars. A rally car was cool, even if they should have used an evo or an audi, it was original

It would be logical to have more clearance between their wheels and fenders but I guess they'd rather have suspension that looks like the car got stepped on.
@@bwofficial1776 Past a certain point, you need an angle kit like they show for wheel travel anyway. A lot of them are adjustable. Also, a common thing with drift setups is more camber in the front than the rear. It looks stupid, probably, but it does work.

The content isn't really getting better though. I want to see the journey, the struggle of building and modifying the car and only then, the glorious result of all the hard work they did. This video is just a quick Happy Meal kinda thing, so short that it's basically a montage, all in order to quickly get to the payoff and keep all the ADHD people interested. That sucks. That's not how us, the viewers connect and get to know and love the hosts and the cars. It feels too impersonal and soulless. Love the stuff they used to do like Up to Speed and the original Money Pit. This video here is more like something you might watch half way through on tiktok while mindlessly scrolling to kill boredom.

I think it is it's uniqueness that "killed" it. While it is a cool idea and definitely more special than just another drift car, it is surely harder to think of content for it. I mean they have done plenty with the rally build, they have shown us how to build it. Realistically speaking, there is definitely a wider audience behind drifting than there is behind the rally stuff, at least here on youtube. It kinda sucks that they didn't do more with the rally build, but I'd not say that they are "hitting new lows", just because they changed their mind on what they want to do with one of their cars.
Not to mention the half-ass job of mounting the kit and cutting the fenders/bumpers.
