I would love to join your business in the future
I’m in college studying electrical installation
I used to tell the assessor....I’m building a extension,to house a library big enough for all the regs books you made me buy, also for my unused certificates,as you upgraded them ,just after I bought a new pad !!.!!
Brilliant comprehensive video thanks Jordan! Very clear and practical 👌 Thanks for popping in the links too 😎
I reckon he'll turn up in an Artisan t-shirt and ask for a photo with you
That was such a walk down memory lane. I was a Internal Quality Auditor in a large private telecoms company working firstly under BS5750 then ISO9000. Our annual Accreditation inspections by BSI sound exactly like your NIC format. All Pre digital records so that pile of documents was a standard practice to show the extent of work we did. The weakest link were the chats with a randomly selected employee in a particular work stream to describe a task against our defined work process flows. They tended to get brain freeze when questioned and our job was to coax them to start breathing again to give the reasonable answer. Yes the inspectors tried not to frighten them and in the end it worked out fine. We were pretty clean of real problems but the inspectors always had one or two minor observations of non compliance and it usually needed just a resolution document sent to them so they could show they did their job and not just swanning in and signing off the accreditation. Happy Days.
This video came just in the time, I learned a lot from it as I’m preparing to do my NICEIC assessment. Thanks for the video 🙂
Excellent video Jordan, good luck for your assessment! 👍🏻
Jordan, your good point.... Very Interesting video! Learned lots of different tips by watching these comparison channels. Thumb both up! Cheer!!!!!!!
Great one Dave. This year I wasn’t asked for GN3, but wanted GS38 booklet available. The most stressful part is organising site visits and hope they are available on the day 👍
Thanks for the information !
good video Jordan
My post when up on your other NICIEC assessment video from a year ago . Have a read.
Good luck on your Inspection,
Really appreciate this video. It gives me a total insight into my accreditation process. I am only going to be a sole trader, but still, I want to be on the ball with everything.
Good advice. ELECSA inspectors were always very friendly and helpful.
You should of let Cory take him around, that would of shut the inspector up 😂😂😂
Interesting video! Learned lots of different tips watching this channel!
Thanks a lot!
I just have 3 weeks to assessment. Thanks for that video! :)
The visit is notbto bad . Just have to show them you can test and have knowledge on electrical installation and the regs..
They do a magazine called connections which they send out four times a year . This has a lot of information in it 👍👍
Thank you Jordan. I’ve got my first NICEIC inspection in a couple of weeks. I’m really nervous for it, but I hope it should all go okay. This video has helps me out a load. Many thanks!
Same! Got mine in 3 weeks. Watching this video has calmed me down quite a lot 👍
@@leereid252 good luck mate! As long as your prepared I think it should be okay
@@ryanrickard2042 good luck to you too Ryan 🤞
Jordan your good at what you do
You’ll ACE it
Go smash it brother
Thanks!
@@artisanelectrics did you get flying colours
Well that's nice to know, I have never had a missed visit from the NIC EIC. Had one last year just before lockdown 1.0 and one again this year a couple of months ago. There are more and more contractors registered now and in the last four years have had three different assessor's. My usual one semi retired and now they are so busy, plus now having Elecsa merged with them proper (which I am sceptical about) doesn't help. But if you're doing it right then there's never a problem. No one knows everything especially in this game but if you keep up to date and do a good job you're sorted. You've got to be pretty confident if you're going to show your work on CZcams anyway. Calc card.... Why don't you have a tester????? And why wouldn't you get your tester calibrated???? I have two multi function testers and two check box testers and get them calibrated alternate years. For the cost why wouldn't you do it.....🤯
Hmm, I’m not an electrician, but aware of some issues. How are the £75 EICR certificate companies managing to jump through the hoops and carry on trading? Or are the masters of paperwork confusion.?
Did Electricians in the U.K. in the past have to get each of their major works inspected fully, prior to being signed off by an inspector? That's the way it is here in New Zealand.
Hi Jordan The NIC are part of an electrical contractor life , in my experience the better you are the more likely you are to experience an in depth experience . Why because they are going to see so called contractors that are so of the required standard they are at a loss as to what to do . So that puts the governing body in a tricky situation . Deregister the offenders and lose revenue or make recommendations for improvement , yes we all know how it ends up . I like you have lost sleep at night because of an impending visit, yet have full knowledge of other companies that don’t give a rats Ars as to the assessment 🤣👍👍👍
Hi Im still 15th edition (on paper) willl i need to do current exams to be registered
What are the requirements to become Niceic regulated I'm thinking about starting a domestic installer course. I've been told the criteria has also changed
Ah... the elusive proving unit eh 😉 Cory still got the 'shared' one ?
Do they check any of your employees work as you employee people or is it just you as an individual?
Jordan is responsible for checking his employees work is up to standard as he is the person registered.
Don’t worry you will smash it
Jordan, do your employees (electricians) also need to do the assessment?
No.
No they dont, only the Qualified Supervisor (QS) needs to be there and the Principle Duty Holder, in this case I am both of those people.
"Test Zs at the same socket in the office every month". 😉
Definitly not filling out the spreadsheet with marginally different results for each month the night before then, or pre spreadsheets with 3 different pens to make it look convincing!
🤣🤣🤣
Well done mate u do a really good job on here mate am a big fan of u do a really good job on here mate form Greg Bouchard am a big fan of u do a really good job on here mate form Greg Bouchard
Hey I love your vids, i wanna be an electrician but I don’t have the right grades is there any other way I can become one, I’m currently doing my level 2 painting and decorating in college
If you are determined then quit what you are doing and get the grades you need. Then find a contractor that will take you on.
Alternatively ask your college if you can do your current one and a maths or physics qualification at the same time (I’m guessing this is what you are missing).
@@AS19283 they don’t do it because of covid and I don’t want to leave it to late
I have had several inspectors over the years and on a whole they are ok, back when I joined they were a charity, which was their get out of jail card when I moaned about the fee.
Fast forward a few decades and they are now this corporate monster, that can't gobble enough money.
The trouble with them and the other bodies is, they don't care about the quality of work, look at the crap some of their members turn out, and they are still registered.
I used to worry when I had my visit, doesn't bother me now, especially seeing the rubbish I come across on a daily basis.
What does ITS stand for?? 🤔
Lol zoom call last time
I bet your assessor is subscribed to your channel and seen all the videos.
I hate these visits. My head falls off and I draw a blank. Tests you do all the time like show me how you do a ze. No I forgot. Night mare
And a fire extinguisher....
First here 🥳
Well done!
You what?
Im with one of the others, when i had mine just before easter. it was a waste of time you videos is longer than the time he spent on site, he was that far away from the install he would not binoculars to see it, the cps schemes are just about making money nowadays
I thought he said firearms oh fire alarms 😄
Don't forget to BEAT that 👍 or 👎 button like it's a NICEIC examiner!
£320 for half a day ey 👌🏼 nice 😂
And they didnt come out for 4 years with me. Paying them £450 !!
He’s seen the videos? Oh deeaaar. 😂
LOL
Took him for a spin in the Tesla he loved it
NIC not the golden goose it once was. Standards have dropped since it became a business operation.
How companies test 5 houses or 50 circuits a day, and get away with it, is simply mind bending. Not very inspiring when you see the sh1te some companies and organisations get away with.
Non governing company making money 💯👎👎👎
This video is not interesting to me
Ok
Tommy have a snooze or watch one of billions of other channels 😂😂😂
