Micro inverters are in the technology but I don't think they're as versatile as having a straight DC system with optimizers. And that's a lot of micro inverters to upgrade at a later date plus there's heat issues on the roof so it kind of makes sense to keep the large amount of the electronics out of the heat. But it's definitely an option. And I don't know if things have changed but there at one time was no consideration for using them in grid down situation I would hope that might've changed but it does complicate the process a lot.

Manufacturers starting to specify oversized breakers for things that are carrying high amounts of current for long periods. Had a conversation with Lewden technical last week who said the same.

Seems quite similiar to the Huawei batteries just in terms of engineering and being modular and stackable. Huawei inverters and batteries are very common in ireland but dont see any UK sparks installing them, how come? They are brilliant right up there with solaredge in my opinion

Do you approve or are there problems with this option? : If you don't have a GS38 approved test lead, a way of ensuring that you are turning off the correct circuit is to plug in a radio. Have it playing loudly so you can hear it while you turn off the circuit you think is correct, turn it back on and then off again so you are sure it is off and not just a break in the music/speech. A lamp could work too but you have to return to the room to check. Many thanks for the clear and really informative video. You are entertaining enough, you don't need the music by the way.

The Type A RCD is necessary for equipment this may generate a DC offset (might have a DC component). This includes any type of equipment that will use a chopper circuit so that the the current usage is not always strictly sinusoidal. Examples of such equipments would be: motor speed control, induction cooker etc... My guess is that an AC RCD uses a differential current transformer as a detector and thus cannot detect this DC offset. The type A RCD must either have a secondary detection system or a completely different one that can detect any kind of leakage (AC and DC) The DTI connector is connected directly to the incoming copper line and is mandatory. It is supposed to be devoid of any local equipment (capacitors, filters etc...) It is there for fault finding purposes. If a technician needs to know if the fault comes from outside or the local equipment it is easy to find that out. The rest of this DTI box is mean to allow reorganizing of the RJ45 connector(s) as phone line (ADSL), data network (ISP box) or even television (Cat 6 minimum ?) The current limitation of the main RCD is linked to the fixed tax you pay, the provision for the maximum allowable current draw.The Linky meter is connected first BEFORE the mains RCD. Basically anything before the output side of the main RCD is considered "no touchy". If you temper with the equipment or cause any damage, you will be fined.
