I don't know about other people, but I really enjoy your filming yourself as you are working. There is just something so genuine and visceral about having that perspective, and I always enjoy your videos. Thank you for making my day better! God bless you and yours.
Rudy, great episode. The white board was a nice touch explaining how the system works. Improvement in sound and editing apparent as well. Love the Rubicon. Can't wait to see you out on the trails.
I feel your pain, Rudy. It's tough to film, edit, and upload videos without a crew - especially repairing, building or modifying something. It takes at least four times longer. Most viewers are unaware how much work and time creating videos alone takes. Keep up the good work - you will have a crew in the future - have faith!
Next level editing! - Audio / Light / Angles / Engagement - WOW! 💥
That was a lot of work but it looks like it was well worth it. That's a huge gain in steering capability!! You do really nice work Rudy. Lots of thinking goes into designing and building a new system!!!
Hay Rudy half done is coming along nice
Thanks for drawing the diagram. It was quite helpful 👍
Rudy is the first person in a very, very long time, that I have seen actually pour oil correctly. They're made to not "glug" but, you have to turn the bottle around. Kinda like pouring backwards, but it stops the glugging. Most folks just dump it. Kudos, Rudy. You had a good teacher 😁
Edit: Super cool to hear the Rudicon run, without the power steering pump whining! You can actually hear the motor now!! Bravo Rudy!!!
The guy who installed the Lift a couple of episodes back did it correctly.
If all the connections are the same. Except for 90 or straight. Make a spare hose as long as the longest with straight ends. Buy 2 90's that will adapt into it. Double bag them. Then put it in the emergency spares. It ca. Then go anywhere in the system.
HEY Rudy!! Hello Janelle !
Hey Rudy !! Where did you install the oil cooler ?? Great work & hope it does what its supposed to do !!! Waiting to see the ""WORKOUT ""on the trails !! 🙃😉🤔👍👍👍👍👍
I am wondering the same.
I love your sense of humor.... This is exactly why I enjoy watching you..... You keep your life simple and uncluttered.... its a refreshing change from other programs out there....
Yea sometimes less really is more.
Love to hear that you have your voice back! Thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Looks awesome Rudy! Curious where you put the cooler tho........ Happy to see another video so close to the last one. Keep it up as best ya can, I know we all appreciate and love them.
Great job on the whole system Rudy. I think that was a good change to make.
That should make an incredible new driving experience!! Matt and Rudys' steering day!
Awesome! Now you just need one for the rear. 😉
You have come a long ways in improving your story telling. You are leaving much less for us to "guess" as to what is happening.
Also, I really wanted to know how a hydraulic steering functioned.
Proud of Rudy for being his own man 😉
I still think he is a lier to tell someone that they have won a prize iv done everything asked so I will never trust Rudy's sight
@@robertshaw3226 - The scammer is not Rudy!
@@robertshaw3226 Scammers make those replies to comments on just about every CZcams channel. Never reply to them.
I really hope you haven't given them any of your personal info.
@@robertshaw3226 If someone called you on the phone and told you that you WON a brand new ATV, and all you had to do to claim the prize is give them $322 for shipping and taxes, would you just give them $322? I will bet not. At least I hope that you would not be so gullible. This scam, that you participated in, just ripped you off!!!!! If you gave any information out, I hope that you can cancel everything on your end. You have been had Robert!!!!!
Looking good! Keep it up 🎉
Great job Rudy, can hardly wait to see you have that out on the road again
Well, that's a big improvement. That should make it a bit easier to menouver around off road. 1 step closer.
Nice job Rudy. Look forward to seeing the Rudicon back in action.
I use to work for Cat, and one Sunday at 1:AM, I had to go to a small gold mine and look at a 992 to check a noise. I determined the the rear gear train for the 3412 engine was badly damaged. They needed it out of the pit, so I pulled all 4 sun gears off the axles and had another 992 tow me out of the pit. We called your orbital valve a HMU. ( Hand Metering Unit) With the engine off, I could make small steering changes just by turning the HMU with the steering wheel. I had to make two 180 degree turns coming out of the pit, and to do that I had to start the engine, but it only took 5 seconds. The HMU is in fact an oil pump, so as long as you are moving I believe that you will be able to steer the Rudycon with the engine off. It should not hurt it. I did not hurt that 992, and that is a very large loader.
Nice install ! Thanks for sharing ! Now it's time for Protection ~
I like the way you consider the job in hand and then put it into reality. very impressive. greetings from Australia
Your pretty knowledgeable on more advanced items that is putting you in that upper league of skilled people. You definitely know what needs to happen in sequential order which makes understanding the process for a viewer easier to relate to up to the end result. Good stuff Rudy keep it up! Would be cool to see something Yourself, Paul, Chad, your Dad, Robbie and others create that your a part of like the golden nugget rebuild! Your stuff is awesome to watch!
Its looking good 👍 looking forward to see it run the hills.
Keep it up with the purple! Looks good!
For the hoses going to the ram, make them longer and secure to the upper link to keep them out of areas they can be damaged and still be long enough throughout flexing.
Great Job Rudy! Nice job with the Vid. Good commentating, graphics, camera work and editing.
Cover that shaft up before it’s to late! Great explanations on what you are doing and why.
Good job looks a hole better, enjoy your videos. Glad you got the steering fixed.
Thank you for 'splainin' how that hydro steering works! Maybe you could 'splain how that crazy suspension works on the trucks you guys have out there.
Thank you for explaining that!
The hydraulic lines look much simpler when they're on the whiteboard than when you have to route them all around through other parts of the engine.
Nice job !
Where did you put the cooler?
Hey Rudy, thanks for sharing the full Hydro steering upgrades. Love your channel. Keep up the good work Ray from Oregon.
Video content and quality are improving! Keep up the great work and enjoy yourself most of all.
Awesome job. I'm loving the purple.
Nice Mike Rowe reference. Good work Rudy.
Love the whiteboard part. You explained that well!
Great to see you moving along with the Chanel the shop and everything. Watching you work just seems effortless you work through problems and just keep on moving 👍
Wow. The white board steering diagram was brilliant. Keep this up!!! Happy new year.
It's wonderful to hear you know the difference between run and ran!
Awesome job, very informative and entertaining. Nice to see you can still steer with the engine off for safety's sake. Also great that you got it done in 2 episodes!
Looking good Rudy, good job!
Good-job Rudy, and thanks for sharing.😁👍
Now comes the building of the covers to protect all those arms! 10 degrees more turning!
It's coming along nicely so far. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab on. Weld On. Keep making. God bless.
Love your artwork. it was easy to understand how it works. Good job. 😊
It good to see that there is still steering capability without engine power. Years ago a guy I worked for bought a road scraper. While he was driving it home it ran out of fuel , lost steering and it ran off a 40 foot Clift. luckily he was able to jump off before it ended badly at the bottom.
Impressed!! Have never researched, thought thru, or looked at a hydraulic steer. It's so smooth & effective that Jeep aught to offer the technology as an "add"!!
Well done! Keep it up!!
Great explanation, and demo. Thanks. I too didn't think it would do anything when the engine's off.
Great job team RAD! I will take "Looking forward for the Test Drive "for a thousand Alex. Ding Daily Double 👍
I'm glad to see how far you're taking the Rudicon. It's been a beast, but now it's a beast that steers!!! The whole set up looks awesome. Great video(s)!!!🤙
Great video and great job with your jeep and next your going to want rear steer, God bless from GA and stay safe 🙏
Nice installation, that setup looks sweet 👌
Nice job Rudy.
Gonna be great on the trail.
The white board was a good touch to help understand.
Another great show Rudy, things look to be coming together.
Hey Rudy,
That Hydro unit really does a lot for your Jeep !
And it seems to be so simple !
I think you are going to love it.
Your speaking louder really helps the video, Thanx.
Work Safe, Be Well
Stay Warm
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Pretty exciting stuff. I'm happy for you. I think you're going to see a lot of improvement both offroad and on road. Not sure how that sort of a system is with feedback, but it's a Jeep not a racecar, so who cares. It's good to see the half dun git more dun. You're video's are getting more interesting. I liked that you showed how that system worked. It was interesting. It seems like it should be more powerful, and of course turn further, but not pushing your body around and wasting energy and handling is going to be HUGE I bet. You're gonna have fun on that test drive. Just be careful, you can fix minor flaws that occur during testing as long as you test in increments, and not go hog wild right off the bat. That install seems like a pretty much done deal tho. What's next on the list? Databyter
I wonder about turning the wheel while your tires are jammed up. If your tires are sunk into some deep ruts, normally you just can't turn the wheel. With this, does it just destroy itself by moving the ram anyways? Or is there something that bypasses or limits the force? I'm just not familiar with hydro steering. Hopefully it works out great.
@@Bobbywolf64 Well that is one of the things I was wondering about with feedback. I think you could still feel the resistance of an obstacle well enough to exercise care. And hopefully, as you say, there is some sort of a pressure relieve valve, even if it is not adjustable or reuseable, but ideally it would be both.I do think there would be enough feedback to tell that you were going against a lot of pressure. Hydraulic systems are usually designed to be JUST strong enough to do what they need to do for this reason. You would never want to put a 20 ton hydraulic Piston on a 10 ton Lift for instance.
Good job Rudy the jeeps slowly coming together looking good
Hydraulic steering has the self pumping ability with the engine off, the same as on certain tractors and forklifts. They share several key items. I built a tractor that had hydraulic steering, and it worked quite well and it was about the only option since the engine would have been in the way of a steering box on the front.
Rudy I really like the upgrades to the Rudicon. I hope to see more like how it does on the test drive I am curious.
That is a major improvement on the steering
hey rudy that white board segment was really helpful in understanding the system. thank you. good vid.
where did the oil cooler get placed?????
11:40, you can see it poking out under the bumper
Yeah, that’s totally my bad. I ended up placing it kind of behind and beneath my bumper.
@@Rudysadventureanddesignreal Ah HA! I wasn't the only one missing that. LOL
Got the alert ran home to for up the big screen for this one it’s the only to watch this channel 👍🏾👍🏾
The half done is almost 3/4 done. Nice work RAD!
PSC is less than 5 minutes down the road from me. Great people, great product.
Good job wearing gloves Rudy. You learned a lot from Matt. Even though they are ranch or farm gloves. Try some Mechanix gloves. Good work sir!
And I commented yesterday, prematurely about the new degrees. Thank you for a quick follow-up video. You rock!
I’ve tried the mechanics gloves they melt when I weld, and thanks for watching 👍
@@Rudysadventureanddesignreal Thank you sir. I should have known you already tried them and they just didn't work well. Love your work and videos. Congratulations to you and your "staff".
Cool. Awesome build
Awesome build!!👍🏼🤙🏼
I just realized, this kit is basically a front facing steering rack! Would be neat to have it in the rear somehow so it's protected, like on a normal car. Would require flipping the entire hub around somehow, probably a whole new part, but I have seen crazier things done. Then you have to get around the axle somehow... Lots to work out but would be interesting to see done on a solid axle.
LOOKING REALLY GOOD RUDY
Nice!❤ Now do the rear !
And, show the migration or hopefully the lack of it.
FAB rats always stated hydraulic steer is good for offroad but garbage for highway use. Hydraulic steering tends to not be precise, and wanders on the highway.
Very well done.
Nice ! Shakedown ride yeah !
Build ur Ram and cyl. Guard Before u Screw thing's up by HITTING ROCK'S 😉
Ready to see it on a trail.
Awsome job Rudy......I'm impressed !!
Love your new shop and the video content that's already coming out of having your own space. Keep it coming dude
Love seeing your channel grow and your experience get better with the editing and explaining things to a camera always loved the rudicon it just keeps getting better and better. I wish I could do half this stuff to my xj but our laws are a touch different cant wait to see yours on a trail soon 👍🇦🇺
Nice improvement!
Good job, Rudy!
12:25 I actually shouted “Whoa!” at you to stop steering. I am glad you heard me. ;-)
You are going to enjoy that set up. Good thinking on just doing it. Till next one, later.
Great video…it’s fun to see thing moving forward
looking good!
Nice balancing act on your tire/step ladder when it's off the ground. 👍
The lift is a game changer. You should make a crane boom like FabRats has. Might not need it all the time but handy hen you do. Enjoying the content.
Rudy you ought to get a teaching degree and become a shop teacher. Your definitely skilled young enough and have a great attitude.

Rudy I love your channel. I own 2 XJs. One is my daily & the other I'm doing the worlds slowest resto on. I think you should try the T.H.O.R. induction set up on your rig. It moves your air filter into the cowl ,it even comes with a nifty pre filter for people who run their rigs in a lot of sand & dusty trails. Have them on both of my rigs and they work great & sound pretty cool too.
Nice video. Keep them coming.
Impressive work bud!
The apple doesn't fall from the tree! Great job, Rudy!
10 degrees is a lot more turning it should be much better than what you had before love the Chanel thanks for sharing need to see you out testing it
