      @@HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline I have focused mainly on learning rather than creating assets but my interest is making game assets for UE4. I am developing more skills for that area. I think it might be wise to create a generic pack that fits in to general use, like your store stock. I was surprised you had success with your Hong Kong kit because it seems quite specific. I am curious how buyers would be using it.

    As a 3d modeler, I don't want to sell there because the discount rates are too high on the CD trader site and the products are sold at very cheap prices.

      Good comment, quite right, i have watched how in the last couple of years they started running sales too frequently and at too high discounts. For this reason, they are no longer my primary focus in terms of 3d sales sites.

    Hi, ive been looking into setting up a cgtrader page but not sure what to include with a model. I use substance painter to texture, am I aloud to just include these textures with the file. So I basically upload my max file, obj, fbx, and targa textures from substance? And again, the file outputs like fbx and such, do i basically just save out that format? I hope these arnt stupid questions haha. I am hopeing to land a job in the games industry, but want to make an income in the meantime. I dont want to sell somebody something and it be sub par/not what they wanted. Im too nice hahaha.
    And thanks for taking the time to upload these videos, very helpful

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 4 lety

      Hi, thanks for the comment,, appreciate it. The short of it is that your 3d file needs to automatically pick up the textures when opening the file. So once you exported your substance textures, just first create your materials, assign textures in 3d, then archive each 3d file with it's maps, if fbx, xport fbx with embedded media. That should be good to upload. In Max you can "archive" which will pull all the textures into a folder as well. Let me know how it goes!

    Amazing content. I want to start selling in cgtrader I use blender to model but I have realized that most of the models are made in 3dsmax, do you recommend learning to model in that program or is there a way to convert my blender projects to that format? thanks for your content

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey, thank you for the comment, really appreciate it. My main program is blender as well, i do all my modeling in blender, then export to fbx. Fbx is a Autodesk owned format therefore translates well into Max. Judging by my increase in blender market sales i also would say realize the massive growth in blender nr 1, and nr 2, note that the majority of max format uploads are older uploads. C4D has also grown massively and i see a lot of the new uploads being C4D, blender with FBX as an additional format. Then just make sure to publish on blender market as well. In short, Blender + fbx. Principaled shaders also export well. Hope this helps?

    I have a question... I want to publish in different formats, like 3ds max, maya etc, but its license is too expensive, how can I sell my models in those formats without having to pay an expensive license? I'd like to convert it to 3ds max at least.

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 4 lety

      The only way to do that is to have access to 3ds max. Alternatively, publish to FBX which is an Autodesk owned format and is VERY popular. In fact its expected from people to publish in fbx. You can also embed images so the maps won't "fall off" on import.
      Otherwise you need to get access to a pc with Maya/Max installed on it.

      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 2 lety

      Hi, i only do it in free time as well, it all depends how much you pay attention to selling /marketing strategy, analytics etc. If you just host them (ie just upload to cgt or whatever site, don't expect much, on the other hand, if you SELL, as in market etc, then you can expect to pay rent etc like i do every month) just depends, DONT go for quantity, model count has nothing do do with income

      Alternatively, and maybe the better option from a Marketing pov - if a blender user, post to blender community, publishing a short essay with a sales link. Remember, that has about 6 million views a month, whereas insta is in organic decline in terms of content suggestion. It's been working for my sales, just saying!
      I have also found closed forum to have higher "conversion to sales" percentages thank FB and Insta, but insta does work for those who put out world class quality and can snag upwards of 10k followers

      Hi, thanks for the question. Question for you, in the time the world finds itself, would a digital distribution system not work better that having to mail a physical model? In other words selling the print file rather than the print? For instance there are a number of 3 d print files that are constantly being downloaded from Cgtrader. Head over to CGTrader, search the print model section and look for the ones that have been reviewed, since they then have sales attached to them. If you are insisted on selling physical models, i know that 3d printed cosplay elements are selling well on ETSY. Com. My etsy sales are pretty good and as a platform i can say the are helpful and easy to start on, i don't have any e-bay experience though. Does this sort of help?

I am think that udemy.or lynda kind of platform is so helping. Or i am make learning from max tutorials. That is my self learning. What is best. Sir pls share your comments pls.

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 4 lety +2

      You can learn alot in max, may i ask why Max specifically? Max users are in the decline, right now C4D and Blender are taking ground fast while Max is losing ground (max however dominates Archviz) . I say this because max tutorials are in the decline. But you can get nice max tuts on udemy i recon. I dropped max for blender because of diminishing availability of file formats and access. Also, Blender does not need licencing and additional render plugins. Which industry do you work in?

      No it doesn't, actually it's a good idea since different models sell on different sites. I do well on cgt, blendermarker and artstation. I don't sell on turbo because of the low payout there (used to but closed my account)

      It's always best to be 100 percent safe online, I would not include them in the 3d just for safety, but you can also do things like using 2d detail in the thumbnail such as png people from viz people.com, just stating "people not included". Thats what I did on my exhibition stand pack which does very well

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 3 lety +1

      Generally no, but there are exceptions, for instance on artstation, you don't pay if selling FROM a normal account, but you do pay for a pro account (which has its justifiable benefits). Completely free on CGT and BM
