    What about materials? In Blender you can use procedural texture, unwrapped, mixed shader to make materials, but it means it'll only work in Blender and exchange formats can't reproduce a complex material. Do I focus on the Principled BSDF and external textures (is it what "PBR ready" means?) or complex material that only works in Blender sell too?

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 4 lety +1

      If you want to resell in other firmats use external textures. Also, using principaled BSDf does not make it PBR ( although the principaled shader is a Physically based render shader) mail me at hknoblauch@gmail.com with the subjectline PBR and i will send you some PBR documentation

    But i have one question, i see someone sell the product (ex : arkelstorp desk). I know maybe the model isn`t creating by his inpiration, it`s like maybe created by seeing any refrence image. But if u sell the 3d model, is it not count as copyright? plagiarism?
    Love if you answer it, thank you :))

    • @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline
      @HubertKnoblauch3DContentOnline  Před 4 lety +3

      Good question. So glad it came up and it might be worth doing a video here. The short answer is this: There are 2 categories in which models can be published, royalty-free, or editorial.
      When something is closely referencing something else in the public domain, or even an exact 3d representation - it MUST be published as editorial content, this will preclude it from certain uses but most editorial content still sells well.
      Anything which is entirely your own design, should fall under royalty free.
      That being said - a close or exact replica of an object in public domain should still exclude logo's from that object. If it includes them, the legal issue is not nescassarily copyright, but rather something called "Passing off" - this is basically a legal phrase for saying that you may be passing something else's content, as your own.
      For these reasons i try and be rather safe than sorry - i do sell editorail content as well but i would be VERY carefull before i go and make editorial content into sensitive industries (example, military pharmacuetical etc.)
      As far as 2D goes, it is useful being guided by some of the stock image legislation, an exact building match should require a property release (photo - but in 3d should be editorial). Etc...
      For the above reasons i would recommend in summary:
      Only model what is in public domain
      If it is a "representation" and not a "creative" - it should be editorial
      If it is editorail, strip logo's anyway
      Don't include procuct or brand name in the searchable description
      Hope this makes sense?

For example fbx, obj, .blend, Maya ASCII, Maya binary, shaded, unshaded, rigged, and unrigged, low poly, high poly.
