Breaking the seal does not void your warranty. No "Warranty Void If Removed" sticker does. It's a lie. They might try and fight you on it but if you wanted to take it all the way, the courts would side with you since there's nothing in Warranty law that makes those stickers mean anything.
Wish I knew this 2 years ago, now my warranty is done anyway
This helped a ton to install an m.2 drive. Thanks a ton

Hi, good video. I have a question, is it the same with a GF65? or at least similar (i'm talking about the disassemble).
Thank you so much mate! Helped a lot!
Hi, the heatsink (cold plate) of gpu is not cooper ,what material is?? Aluminium, nikquel or silver??? Thanks
I put a new ram into the slot and bent the pin. I straightened the pin and it won't boot only orange light. I straightened the pin and it seemingly slid into place. Any tips would be appreciated

I have a burned EDP cable and need to replace it, what should i do?
What is the standard wifi plug of gf63 thin laptop ?
Could you do a video on how to remove the trackpad? Mine's messing up something serious & I can't figure out how to get it out. I know there's a "sticker" inside that the sensor touches and you can move it to get some sensitivity back, but the housing for the sticker is built into the frame so I can't get to it without removing the trackpad itself.
i can't even click and drag on mine... i have to plug my graphics tablet in if i want to... and live2d requires you drag animations in, i cant make maps in rpgmaker without tapping each tile manually
Thank you so much for the video. Is there anyway you can tell me the type and model of the ram stick that's in it?
That is a Samsung DDR4 stick, PC4-2666V
Hi may I know what battery replacement model name for MSI GF63 8RD?
gf63 bolt bottom for supporting the screen what size?
i just broke my hinge cover. do you have link where could i buy
Thank you very much
Do i need to disconnect the power before replacing wifi card? and can i upgrade the card or must i replace it with the same one
you can upgrade it and i recommend unplugging the battery whenever you work on the system, a screwdriver shorting the wrong connectors could fry your motherboard entirely -you should be able to unplug it without taking the battery out. also make sure to ground yourself so static electricity that build up inside you doesnt surge into the components
i want to see you put it back together especially after hearing ppl have issues putting the hinge on
Can i use thermal liquid for this
hey shot in the dark but does anyone know how you clip the backing back on around the aux and mic sockets? having trouble w that
I don't believe that breaking the seal will void your warranty. In the case of MSI laptops, its there more as a quality assurance. If you do a repair on your laptop without sending it to them it will void your warranty, but simple upgrades like RAM or SSD will not.
really? are u sure? just wanna know if u talk to one of their employees

No it’s a pain
the m2 is compatible with nvme or only sata?
Just bought this type of laptop and wanted to see how to take out the battery. Obviously I don't take out the battery.
10:28 What is it called to this part?
Hi, thanks for the video first of all. Is it complicated to replace the touchpad? Do I need to remove the motherboard too in order to change it?
It looks like you can get to it after removing the bottom case and battery, should be just a few phillips screws.
@@Sellbrokedotcom thx u very much!!
do i have to take all those parts out to clean up the keyboard ? or there is an easier/safer way !
To clean your keyboard use a bristle brush on the top and work it under the keys, getting all 4 sides of them, then use canned air to blast out the rest. No need to disassemble and you can't do anything from the back anyways.
i have an msi gf63 thin 9rcx, does this video apply for my laptop too?
It should be identical or almost identical
hi dude, best way to clean keyboard, so the red light can get more brightness what should i do? and where the keyboard get sell?
Use a bristle brush and some canned air to work any dirt from under the keys. You have to buy the keyboard with the palmrest, they are integrated. There are a couple of assemblies on eBay.
hi dude thanks for the video
i wanna ask, since my webcam broken, where is the cable of webcam located? (i have same laptop in this video)
thx before
You will be better off replacing the LCD assembly. The lcd cable appears to also contain the camera cable and to get out the camera you would have to remove the lcd. Just getting the lcd bezel off can damage the lcd.
its 9SC not 95c, that 2018 was 8RC, 2019 was 9SC and 2020 is 10SC, btw breaking that seal wont void your warranty, i accidentally broke it while having it in bag and i called MSI support just to be sure, they said it wont void warranty
From what I have read, MSI allows consumers to work on their devices as long as they do not damage anything in the process. You can add more RAM or maybe a bigger SSD, just as long as you don't break anything during the process.
Hey can u tell me which display connector is being used in this model as I want to upgrade my screen to 144 hz
Btw I'm having gf63 thin scxr model
I just bought this laptop couple weeks ago but the led in "M" doesn't lit (or is dimmer than other keys). Any solutions?
Id try a brush or some canned air to make sure there isn't debris under the key, otherwise you will have to replace the keyboard to fix that.
Man, did one of these for my roommates to do a bit of expansion. The clips that hold the case together is real flimsy. I think I broke 1 around the shell and 1 around the bezel. Might have to attempt to super glue it since my roommate didn't like it.
It's a shame they didn't design it to be much more convenient to add/ swap parts. I'd say the plastic clips are as fragile as certain lenovo models.

Hi i have the same model , i have a problem with my current unit, my gpu cannot boost anymore and it is always stucked in 300 mhz clock boost and it is supposed to be around 1000 mhz - 1250 mhz in gaming, i used Gpu z to monitor my Gpu performance and i found out that the gpu power draw is around 162 watts and it supposed to be 30 - 35 watts. any ideas on how to fix this kind of issue?. thanks in advance.
162 w? no way, 30 - 35 watts is fine for low-mid range laptop gaming GPU (especially 1650 mobile, yeah 35w is just a little bit low profile than reference model 50w).
any ideas on how to fix this kind of issue?

I have a question, my 4 month old msi GF65 thin gaming laptop is ready for a cleaning, can I follow this tutorial?
After 4 months you only need to do a few short blasts of air into your heatsink vents. No need to disassemble.
@@Sellbrokedotcom okay thanks! I can definitely do that! When should I consider opening it up?

No
i am trying to remove the thin bezel around the lcd and dont want to damage it, does it have glue underneath or its iust snapped? i need to repaint the bezel. Thank you so much for this video.
It probably has adhesive on the bottom part. If so you should work a finger under there to help separate it from the thin plastic film surrounding the LCD panel. Should be relatively easy though, good luck!

Hi, can you provide me a screenshot look of that battery unit's label i.e part number/model number etc. My GF63 has a bloated battery and I don't want to open it up yet as I'm still using it until I can find where I can buy a new battery. Same, my battery just bloated. I just took it apart and took out the battery so it the laptop itself won't be damaged. Where did you get a replacement?
Same problem i have right now
If the battery is bloated remove it asap that is a fire hazard. MSI should replace the battery for free given the danger.
Hey i have a question, the space on the right side of my mousepad is swelling up, this is the first time it happened, any idea why? Like right between the mouse pad and the logos, @0:11 for reference
That may be a problem with the battery being swollen. It sits right under that spot. Remove the bottom case and inspect it.

hi dude, its an amazing video and i hope i had seen it before i disassembled mine, i disassembled it without taking the battery off or disconecting it, i only took out the LVDS cable that connects the monitor, and the cooler to clean, i didnt even change the thermal paste, after i put it back on it wouldn't start at all, no power, nothing, i tried with/without charger, i tried taking the battery out, then put it back on, pressing on power up for 30 sec and all those little fixes that normaly works, didn't work for me, any ideea what i could've broke that it doesnt give power AT ALL ? no lights, no cooler start, nothing..
If it wont turn on with power or battery then its likely the motherboard is toast. I don't think this model has a separate power button. You may have touched the contacts somewhere with static electricity.
@@Sellbrokedotcom that makes sense for me.. should i use some type of gloves next time to avoid that?
@@ionut-danielfratila3855 You cna use an anti-static bracelet like in the video, or just make sure to ground yourself (touch something large and metal) before touching anything inside the laptop.
Okay, thanks for the tips and bad news too, you saved me some headaches, i apreciate your content dude
@@ionut-danielfratila3855 the same thing happened to me a month ago, you could fix it or is it totally dead?
hi im having a huge problem(in my case). i just bought one recently and today i can home and tried to turn it on, everything was normal and the battery was around 50% until i got onto the home screen when i suddenly just turned off. i then tired to turn it on again and the power icon thing on the power button lit up for a second and then turned off again and this time it doesnt even turn on again. i doubt it has something to do with the battery or it being dead but it was around 50% when i looked at it. though i did accidently get it a tiny bit wet, it wasnt like a "got the whole entire thing dropped into water" but similar "after going swimming and your swim suit dried up a bit so it wasnt dripping wet but more like a when you touch it it feels cold/wet" and i placed the wet swim trunks next to my computer so im guessing its a water damage problem. i dont know what to do and im looking every where for an answer but i cant find any, the people at customer service wasnt any help either. can someone please help me
edit: sorry for bad grammer, english is not my first language
If it wont turn on with battery or plugged in you might have killed the motherboard. At this point there's no reason not to remove the bottom case and check for water damage.
SellBroke oh ok im also noticing like a clicking in the ac adapter is that a problem??
if i spilled soda, how do i clean the inside after removing the battery? what can i clean and what can i not? can i just stop at removing the battery and nothing else to get a good clean?

No cmos battery?
If anyone can help me, when i go to take it off, some of the boards and stuff stick to the backpanel, the headphone jack, microphone jack, and the 2 usb ports all stick to the back panel, any help??
Can i put different capacity battery?
Not sure those are available, most MSI batteries have a very specific shape.
Do i have to remove the heatsink to clean the fan? i'm new with this
Easiest way is buy some canned air and blast it into the fan vent in short bursts. The part that needs regular cleaning is the heatsink.... the small fins get blocked by hair and dust and that's what causes overheating. If you need to you can remove the bottom case and lightly brush the fan blades.... but shooting air into the heatsink from the vent is the easiest and most effective anyways.
@@Sellbrokedotcom if I do that do I still need to remove bottom cover? Or can I do it closed?
@@braincell4536 Closed. It will come out of other vent.
