Hey quick question, I’m planning to get this laptop for school this year and wanted to upgrade the ram, I was wondering if I had to take the battery or anything out or if I could just take the back off and stick the ram in?
As long as you're careful you can even put the RAM while the computer is on, but you'll have to restart it for the computer to see it. Don't leave the computer on though. Lol
Hey, thanks for the video.
If I want to upgrade only the ram, do I still have to remove the battery? If it matters, I switch one slot of 16 giga for a 32 one. Not using the extra slot.
If just the RAM, just make sure the laptop it shut down.
Helpful and educational video. Question, How did you put back the battery? You applied new adhesives or you just place the battery back with the old adhesives of the battery?
I just put it back with the old adhesive.

I'm struggling to take off the back cover since the fan is loose and keeps lifting up with the back cover. Do you have any advice?
Try twisting a little.
Thank you for the video. One thing though, Should I replace the pads if it's mushy?, can I just clean it and apply a thin layer of thermal paste instead if it's mushy?
Not sure. If you use thermal paste, make sure it's a thick paste that won't run. The pads are much thicker and usually paste won't stay in place.
Hello, thanks for the great video! Just one question, do we need to press the battery reset button before we start the whole process?
nope, just disconnect the battery and hold the power button 15 seconds.

Hey man, i have been watching many videos where people are saying you need to discharge the static electricity from you body before touching the internal components. To do that they are using anti static wrist bands and clipping the alligator clip to the chasis of cpu for desktop. But in this laptop we don't have any metallic surface to clip the wrist band to. Can you suggest something on it

Hello mate. Great detail throughout the video. Quick question, I have the same laptop as you and I am wondering if there is a way to upgrade or increase my VRAM because I currently have 6GB and it’s not enough for the games I run. Please let me know. Thank you
Not that I know of. I don't own these laptops. The RAM is limited by the physical hardware.

This should help czcams.com/video/4p5jFDzVwUw/video.html
can i use liquid metal instead of thermal paste? and the gpu heatsink part is made of aluminum or copper?
Not worth the risk and hassle. It's a huge mess and can easily kill your computer.
I am struggling while trying to remove the back plate from the hdmi port side , it's just stuck to the heat sinks
Just gotta follow along.
For the ssd options is there option to add an m.2 ssd aswell as a 2.5inch samsung evo 870 ? thank you mate this tutorial really showed me all the upgrade options for my laptop (edit: for the ram does the motherboard support anything above 2666mhz i've been considering buying 32gb of 3200mhz for rendering / video editing purposes but I don't want to get something that won't run to its full potential)
I don't have the answers to any of that. I fix them, then return them. I don't experiment on them. If I don't mention it in the video then I'm not sure. For everything else, Google is your friend. Hopefully you can find the answers you seek.
I suggest upgrade the main SSD m.2 nvme to Pcie3 4x like ADATA SX8200 Pro, for 2.5 in SATA, you could fill with cheap dramless SSD like Patriot Burst 1TB, or SSHD Seagate 2TB instead for same price. RAM i suggest use 2666 Mhz 32GB x 2 total, no need 3200 MHz. Hint: Render doesnt need fast storage.

@@Zuancrisp I hope you didn't touch the lcd lvds cable. It's very important to disconnect the battery and press and hold the power button 10-15 seconds before messing with that.
What ia hdd size 2.5 or 3.5 brother
I mention it in the video. Please watch it all the way through before attempting repairs/upgrades. Very important, especially if your knowledge on computers is minimal. 3.5" hard drives are almost never used in laptops unless it's a custom monster machine.
It has a 2.5" SATA slot, but no bracket to secure it, so only use an SSD there. The laptop is using an m.2 PCIe NVME SSD as the main drive, but you want to check yours in case it's different.
is 970 evo plus support this pc?
As long as it's the same type of connection it'll work.
Does the battery have to be removed to upgrade the ram?
No, not if you're only changing the RAM. Just make sure the computer is shut down completely. Restart once after installing the new ram
will a 9.5 inch hdd fit?
Not sure, give it a shot and let us know, but better to get an SSD. They're all 7mm I think.
Where did you purchase the ram ?
How much RAM you need?
