Personally, I had a better pregnancy experience with a male obgyn than the female one. The female doctors think they know what you're feeling or something, male ones straight up have no idea what I'm feeling, and actually listen. It's strange

I had the same thoughts on men being gynecologists. I was pregnant at 19 and I only wanted female doctors my thought was "they don't have a vagina they don't know what it's like". A couple years later I actually met with a male gynecologist and he was the ONLY one that wanted to figure out why my periods were almost 2 weeks long. Every female gynecologist just said "oh that sucks" he was the only one that actually tried to figure out why they were that long because they're not supposed to be that long!

Idk, I get his point but if I'm honest, my male OBGYN was FAR better than the female one I had for my 1st pregnancy.
He was a lot more knowledgeable, understanding and treated me like an individual person with the capacity to understand what was going on. Unlike the female OBGYN that legitimately treated me like I was too stupid to understand anything. She couldn't even be bothered to show up to deliver my oldest. She openly admitted, in front of 2 wonderful nurses, that she didn't want to end her night out with her boyfriend so she "called in a favor" from a colleague and that was why a stranger delivered my oldest son. I was actually ok with the Dr that was there, he was also FAR better at his profession than she was.
Some women are just d!@ks! I've had both & have had shitty with both but overall the males were better. My daughter had a few females & the majority were a-holes, not really looking for answers for her long term condition and she recently found a great male dr who figured stuff out (many, many years later btw) and he is nice, courteous, apologetic for her crappy treatment, and on the ball!!! I am so happy bcus its hard to have major female issues when ur own gender treats u like shit!!!

I’ve had female gynos that were so condescending and b*tchy and dismissive. One had such poor bedside manner and a bad reputation she ended up changing her name so patients wouldn’t know it was her and her bad reputation. One pressured me into certain birth control meds I didn’t want and gaslit me about some serious pain symptoms. Etc. And one of the male ones I had was one of the best c-sec baby deliveries I’ve had. (I’ve had 3 lol) The male ones I’ve had don’t get emotional or b*tchy. They just do their job and get you out of there. It’s uncomfortable either way. But I’d rather not have a woman who reprimands me for shaving because she personally doesn’t believe in it. (Yea that happened with a woman gyno too)

the joke was good but male gynecologists more often then not are not in that line of work for disturbed reasons
Some of the reasons I saw a male gynecologist ending up as gynecologist is because they wanted to deliver babies or they had female family members with vaginal issues
And sometimes you don’t even choose your line of work it just happens
I won’t blame us women for feeling uncomfortable if they get a male gynecologist but just keep in mind that they see vaginas everyday and are not aroused by it in the slightest
And also keep in mind that I’m not in validating anyone’s bad experience with a male gynecologist malpractice does exist and does happen
