As a Hispanic person watching this even years later it stings and it’s so true how democrats take the Latino vote for granted.
The Democrats use anything they can then after elected what have they done? Southern wealthy Democrats would actually tell poor whites that black people took their jobs just to get votes from them, even though it was the wealthy democrats who were responsible for the poverty wages. My wife, a Latina, thought Democrats were gold when she first came here. After 20 years she's learned the truth. Alexandria, Virginia is a wealthy place to live. When a group of Mexican workers pooled their money together to rent in the same neighborhood they had to work in the neighbors blew a gasket. We'll take your vote but NIMBY. They feed on misery. I'm from Baltimore originally, they did the sane thing to blacks there. Promises never kept and the city looks like a war zone.

You are right. I think previously many didn't think the black guy would win and they didn't bother voting. This time many assumed the bigot wouldn't win, so nearly half the country did not vote. It's never in the bag until it's in the bag. On the bright side it is only 4 years and he will probably be impeached before it's over.

Funny thing is that the Latino vote in Florida isn't really all that reliably Democrat. A large portion of the Cuban community has been voting Republican for many decades. Trump didn't do all that well, only getting 35% (still 7 points higher than he got nationally), but Rick Scott and Ron DeSantos got 45 and 44% of the Latino vote respectively last year.
