- As the list of people who've been "canceled" grows, it's time to look at its first victim: $2 bills! From the behaviors of Thomas Jefferson to the way the bill has always been perceived, here's a look at how the 2 dollar bill has been nearly erased from society.

You can get "Just A Typo" - the book mentioned in this video - on Amazon. It's laugh-out-loud funny! amzn.to/3jbLXFY
Tried to use one a few years ago and the kid at the register thought it was fake so he called his manager. He thought it was fake too. So they called the police. Granted I could have taken out singles but by the time they called I was committed to watching the police answer them. Which they did. Both employees minds were blown that it was real. We are doomed as a society!🤦♂️
That's when you need to pull out your phone and start filming it! Thanks for sharing.
how someone could work with money doesn`t even know what types of bills in circulation? and what the problem to look in internet? and find answer in a few seconds. What a people :)
@@animatoramnet Most never have seen a $2 note. I have a red seal $2 note from I think 1933.
@@Metalman200xdamnit there is no $2 1933. I think you have 1928 , next series is 1953
@@animatoramnet I will reply later when I take a look.
If this keeps up we'll be down to putting only animals on the currencies. Re the availability of $2 bills, my local bank won't carry them but will order them in hundred dollar increments but only if I take the whole bundle and pay an additional premium. The search goes on to find a numismatic-friendly bank.
You are doing a great job. Please keep it up!
You can't have pandas on money, pandas are a symbol of China and that's cultural appropriation. Likewise, raccoons and crows are racist symbols, and don't even THINK about putting a sad frog on your currency!
At my bank, there is one teller who brings in about a dozen or so, and gives them to people who request them every Wednesday.
I say use the $2 dollar bill! Plus they look cool! Newer pop machines take them now. And hey thanks for the video! I Look forward to more!
Glad you liked it and glad you use the bills! Thanks for the comment.
I use the $2.00 all the time! Thank y’all for keeping the $2.00’s current and fresh! I main stream use the $2.00’s!! Great cash to have!
@@lawnmowermanTX amen! I love using 2s
@@jefferylawrence9812 So do I! :) Great!
Trump preferred Harriet Tubman on the $2 bill instead of the $20 bill? Hilarous!
Stephen Miller would, sine he creates/writes Trump's speeches and Trump just reads them.
Id like to see the red stamp put back on the $2 or even the blue stamp. Not necessarily for the original reason why it was there in the first place.
It's highly unlikely. It's not a design element, it's an indication of the kind of note it is. Green seals mean Federal Reserve notes, which is how all currency is being printed. Red was United States notes - not happening anymore. And blue was silver certificates, also a no-go moving forward. I have videos about red and blue seal bills on this channel with all the information.
I'm getting ready to go to the bank, I'm gonna get some. Perfect timing!
Great to hear! Hope you got a lot of them.
Fine with me.
I'll keep my stack of them.
I really want a 2 dollar bill so here a question for ya. (What are different ways to tell people to use 2 dollar bills so they can become more noticable?)
I don't think that's a question I can make a full video out of, because the answer is pretty simple: just tell people! Use words. Or do a social media post. I made an entire CZcams channel on the subject. The best way though, is to start using them yourself. Go to the bank and get a bunch, and spend them. Then use the opportunity to talk to people and educate them about the bill. I've said this in certain ways in a bunch of other videos. Thanks for the question! Try another, and put it in the right spot on the Community page so I can find it more easily.
They use to get them at the track.
When I used to work at a grocery store, blind folks used $2 bills all the time. I saw $2 bills at least every other week--sometimes one of our cashiers would buy them but that didn't happen too often.
I have a good question...do they make 2021 2 dollar bills?
If they did, they would have been printed last fall. I just looked it up. $2 bills were printed for the 2021 fiscal year, but it's not certain they will have the year 2021 on them. Let's hope! www.coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/fed-reveals-fiscal-year-2021-currency-print-orders

Sorry. .missed. .was on other channel
Certain people (hint: people on the left) want to cancel the two because it has Jefferson on it
That's part of this video, but it has nothing to do with left or right.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary Yeah I see conservatives banning books and getting people kicked off Twitter all the time...
My point was, the video is not making any political commentary at all. At least, it wasn't the intention to do so.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary Sorry, I misunderstood what you posted. It was a great video and you've got a really cool if niche channel haha.
Hello!
Hello!
This video is absurd. The $2 bill sees limited circulation because it's just not useful. $2 isn't a lot of money, and cash register companies decided that it would be better to make their device smaller than to keep a $2 bill. IME, the $10 bill has a similar problem, but it's less of an issue because $10 can actually buy something.
The $2 has never seen much circulation, and cancel culture has only picked up steam in the last decade. It's impossible for cancel culture to be the reason that the $2 bill is rarely seen.
No one said this was to be taken entirely seriously. But the Jefferson angle is accurate, for what it's worth.
Since numbers are used on base 10 system, it makes sense to have Bill's that are multiples of 10. You do need something to add up to 10 when making change, but $2 often aren't particularly useful.
Saying that a former president's (or non-president's) portrait could be replaced is "cancel culture" is grossly incorrect. Over 50 people, one real life woman and one Native American, have graced our monetary instruments for centuries. It's just that the latest set of presidents and non-presidents have stayed the longest - nearly 200 years in some cases. Our banknotes feature prominent figures throughout American history, weather lauded or loathed. I think these portraits could use an upgrade to more contemporary figures, and dare I suggest non-White men. I believe a literal facelift of our banknotes could help modernize and make more relevant our banknote series to more Americans and people abroad who might recognize new faces on our banknotes.
It's cancel culture when politically agenda is the driving force. Though I only care about our currency's purchasing power rather then who's portrait is on it.
It is cancel culture when we don't get a voice in the discussion, but it is mob rule.
What some call "cancel culture", others refer to as "free market consequences for unacceptable behaviors".
Agreed, but sometimes those unacceptable behaviors are only unacceptable to the person doing the canceling. In the book mentioned in this video, a celebrity gets canceled because of an accidental typo in a tweet, and it ruins his career. There are a wide variety of examples of cancellations in real life, from the justified to the unjustified, but we're in a time where people are too quick to want to punish for things that weren't an issue a few years ago (the Dr. Seuss books are a perfect example - why wasn't anyone offended until now?)
Ironically, most of the people promoting cancel culture hate the free market.
