It's honestly astonishing that Scott has the outright lap record at Brands Hatch.
Edit: Just to clarify, he has the record for the indy layout of Brand's hatch, not the full GP layout.
No way, do you know what car?
Looks like it was the 1997 Benneton F1 car
I looked up the record and google said the record was 1:12 by Adams Carrol (I think) so now I'm confused
@@Egerit100 scott holds the record for the Indy Circuit layout
@@Egerit100 I had to look that up as well. You're right, Adams Carrol's time is the race lap record for Brands Hatch GP layout. Scott holds the race lap and outright record for the indy layout at 0:38.032
Watching a video on racing a scooter against a Ferrari, I learned that they only have one major difference... the number of wheels
I'm curious how a bicycle or ebike would fare
That or a faster ev scooter, assuming legislation allows those in the uk
@@mclarenf1lm374 or how scooter with more power, which can hold the speed uphill
You forgot the train
@@TheDeepDiveLLC yeah, only a scooter can be taken on those, although you might or not be able to make up for that via the bicycle "highways" london has
@@Grovinchen mentioned in the second part of the comment
Scott, I was there! At brands when you set the lap record. My and my grandad were sat right up by the fence on the pit straight. Will always remember that day with him forever, a very special memory.
Wow - a day at the track with you grandad, a very special memory indeed. -Scott
I've barely started this video, but Heathrow to Brands is FAR!!! I already feel bad for Scott on the scooter in winter regardless of the outcome! Edit: ah the tube is allowed thank goodness!!
Man this was such a great video! Loved Scott's commentary overtaking the cyclist, and such a close race at the end!!
Scott was really quite funny, in a Brit understated kind of a way. I loved his second frost bite line about the thumb falling off.
Scott, Scott...if you would know better e-scooters, you would take part with at least a zero 9, or a better e-twow gt. A budget xiaomi sucks in long trip...
This is the best car channel on the internet right now. Old top gear vibes
"The best car channel *pause* in the world"
In your opinion.
With how close this was I reckon a foldable bycicle would have easily won, great work
Oh the car would still have been at the Shard if a bike was used and public transport not deliberately kneecapped with awful route choices.
Watching Scott nearly get run over by a lorry knowing full well thereâs a cycle superhighway over the road is a uniquely infuriating experience
I felt for Scott, at least you kept a winegum for him. Great video again, thank you! đđ đ I hope you enjoy doing this for a long time to come
With how close it was does really show how much better the scooter is. If Scott had a battery that could have handled the power/sport mode or whatever it was called then he'd have had it.
Great video boys. Always loved this kind of stuff. Seeing as you guys sometimes model your stuff after Top Gear, any chance of a road trip in the future? Those were always the best stuff alongside the build challenges.
To be fair, this wasn't really an... Ideal... Scooter. I'd personally also go with a LiFe batteried one, they're a bit slower but the battery lasts more cycles and handles weather better. Speed itself isn't really the defining factor for one of these, and too much of it just makes you annoy everyone you're passing while reducing your margin of error.
"We're not going to do it like Top Gear, which fakes it a little bit"
*proceeds to double journey time by avoiding the motorway and going through central London, for no reason*
Quarter of a London behind usđ if you ever have another challenge like this, I would love to join đ this looks so much fun!
@Nico Leonard I love how you have 1.2mil subs but only 1 like on this comment đ€Łđ€Ł
@@aaravthegreat7438 lol
Yes! How do we get in touch?
@@OVERDRIVE.studios hello
love the "no fuss straight to the content" intro!
i recently saw scott in a video about british motor racing. what classes is he competing in?
i love how top gear had all those land rover camera cars and you guys have a good ol peugeot van
That's the thing with these challenges. 4x4s and vans keep up with the supercars.
6:22 cheeky SLS AMG going by
I was really rooting for Scott to win, but seeing them pass in the Ferrari while he was running was hilarious lol
I just visited London for the first time in Oct. 2022, and can recognize just about every street, corner, and it gives a whole new appreciation for these challenges. It's like re-experiencing the trip and the old Top Gear races!!!
My word is it so much better when you understand how not close these locations are.
10:59 This is the first time I've heard of the full story of how Scott got the lap record for the indy circuit.
There were some James May levels of blunders in terms of directions within that Ferrari. đ€Łđ
Awesome!! Thank you so much for everything you share with us!
You're going to be big, love your content keep it up, greetings from Mexico â„ïž
I love how you said you thought the Top Gear ones looked fake (which I also believe), but Scott still sounded just as miserable as Richard Hammond when he did it on a bike.
5:50 boroughs
How this channel doesn't have millions of subscribers I will never know. The content is consistently entertaining and has a remarkably high production value. Keep up the good work and thanks for always giving your content so much effort!
They'll soon reach that. They have like 200 thousand subs last couple of months and now it's close to 400.
Scottâs laugh as he overtakes the bike đ
When I clicked on this Video, I never would have predicted that Will would take Callum's Cherry.
How do we get these guys bigger!!!! The are so amazing together !!! Honestly the first time since the gt trio I've seen such natural characters on screen together!!
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thank you so much for posting. So, a Citroen van is as quick as a Ferrari. Good news đ
Absolutely LOVE THIS!!!
lmao that was a good one bois! if only you gave him a better electric scooter he would have won for sure!
for example a "speedway 5" or a "laotie L6 pro"
I have the exact same scooter and I can confirm that in colder wheather you right thumb, which is the throttle thumb, will get a frost bite. I have driven it for 1,5+ years and I have got used to it but it's funny to see Scott experiencing the same things as I did when I first got my scooter.
I love this format, fantastic job.
You guys had me in splits đ€Ł. Well done!
This is CZcams's top gear and I'm all for it!!
I know why you look like top gear (except from obvious). You are so genuine and so british! I watch every episone with great pleasure, even tho it is copy of old format. Subaru and Crysler were absolutely amazing!
Scott is now my new favourite human being!
Oh My Word, seeing Scott pass through Swanley was amazing! I used to live there... great memories flooding back.
Great Content Guys, Keep it up!!!!
Awesome guys! Please do more videos like these :)
Really cool video man!!!! Absolutely love this challenge!!!!â€â€â€â€â€â€đȘđȘđȘđȘđȘđȘâ€â€â€â€â€â€
This looks so much fun! I feel terrible for Scott đ
Man if he had a proper electric scooter, he would've had the chance!
You guys are killing it with the content!
Love the 'old' TG vibe here.... well done gents.
I normally enjoy overdrive videos. Now that I'm drunk, I absolutely love them more than i can describe!
nicely done, enjoyed the vid
I don't know when I would need to know this.
Awsome video guys!!
Man as a local to Brands Hatch it felt really weird when I suddenly started to recognise the roads and knew where you guys were!
oh this is gonna be a banger
when i saw the video i thought scott will be winning because public transport is generally faster in asia. But i forgot they are in London LOL
Without faking this, it's nuts that you crossed paths at the Shart. Maybe Top Gear WEREN'T faking... đ€Ł
This is the problem with basically all European race tracks. They're all in the middle of nowhere, so it's a nightmare to get there if you don't have a car. Even if you can drive, since everyone else is driving there as well, you will be stuck in traffic for major events. Look at Paul Richard, the roads could barely handle the traffic caused by the French GP.
Amazing video guys, absolutely love it!
"Bloody criminal haha"
I respect the hustle at the end!
Great video. Well done team.
Brilliant video. Surprised how close it was.
great vid!
I really love this channel
I love how the Citroen relay was used as a camera vanđ
"you won't believe this, there's other people on the train" lol incredible
The mention of matt Armstrong always excites me as a leicester lad đđ€
More videos like this please, very fun
Fascinating
Great video!
You guys are really in tune with what made Top Gear with the trio so great!
Top gear feels. Love it
Top Gear did this a while back (bicycle vs. car vs. boat vs. subway). And I think they proved the subway was faster than the others.
The order was bike, boat, tube, car iirc
"a quarter london away" thats a very american way of measuring things
Would be funny to see the cost comparison of those journeys, I bet its close...
Great video! Would've been happy for a 30-40min episode! I'm sure there were more funny moments!
"100 MPG" vs 5 MPG-close đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
6:17 Woah the SLS is beautiful đ
Thank you for being the new Top Gear.
That's also like the cheapest slowest scooter you can buy
I love how its "660 horsepower" yet there is a van right behind them who films them
I really like the videos guys, you can see they are genuine reactions. Worth of old Top Gear
As time moves on it gets Harder and harder to watch these videos about cars
great episode
Did you guys have to wait an hour to go 5 blocks like I do in Miami during boat week?
Aren't private e-scooters pretty much illegal on public roads and pathways though?
and you are not allowed to take them on a tube due to fire hazard.
Buy the real reason why the are banned from public roads is due to income risk for tfl and government
They can't figure it out how to tax them
@@greatoxcroft5692 Its weird because you can rent 500w scooters through the government scheme but most private ones are about 300w give or take. Personally I think they're great as long as people are responsible with them, same as bicycles.
How many times on the motorway did you you go over the speed limit though?
There have to be several other similar challenges across London specifically for science. I know for a fact Top Gear didn't fake it in Russia, cause I actually flew across St. Petersburg in a Turbo Smart once, it really is light on traffic.
You should have given scott a good electric scooter or folding bike. These cheap ones really suck, they can not get up any hill without slowing down and are limited to 20 or 25kmh. (basically any bike will beat it)
This is the first video iv seen of theirs with the new channel name. Almost missed it lol đ
Why is he using the tube from Hatton Cross instead of using Heathrow Express or Crossrail? Seems a bit of a strange choice, as both would have been quicker options.
Eh, it's content! Kept it close, at least
@@SALEENS7GTR5 Using Heathrow Express would have made the journey to London Bridge take about half the time. Pretty considerable difference.
Yeah, Elizabeth line from Heathrow to Liverpool Street, get out the moorgate end, Northern line to London Bridge for the selfie, southeastern from there as he did. Would have spent about 20 mins on the scooter
But then, we would have made it fairer on the car as well, and let the drivers use motorways. Then it would have been game over for the e-scooter anyway.
@@chillout1109Having to go to the Shard, they'd not be using many motorways anyway. Even without having to go to the Shard, with the M25 I'd not be so sure.
Really enjoyed this one! Appreciate the amount of effort that went in!
the pro 2 can do 2 horses (stock controller motor and battery) with external you can get even more range
Props to the editor. I could feel it.
These guys just donât miss. Great video again đ
That little Caterham makes a great noise
Great video.
Ferrari's a wildly impractical choice of car here - my car or any other normal street car would be better - but hey I can't fault you for taking the chance to drive a Ferrari. Plus, this makes for a way better video.
Is the audio ahead of the video for anyone else?
Brilliant đđđ
Glad you used a ferarri even tho the camera-van made it in the time lol
Yes boys
why are there so many citroens in london...
i thought we only have these in france
Lmao you guys started the race from felthamđ
this reminds me of the Carthrottle video when they raced a BMW M4 with 2 scooters up north of Britain.
Did nobody see that SLS??? Awesome video
Give props to Scott though, to be fair. Just a minute or so behind a 660bhp supercar is quite an achievement, especially considering he had to wait for trains at some stops, and run on foot part of the way.
Although in real life, a race driver travelling from Heathrow to Brands Hatch would never use an e-scooter. It would be much faster and more convenient to just Uber there if he doesn't have his own car to drive from Heathrow. The next race across London should be less restricted i.e. let the contested pick their own route without any rules or restrictions. That would be fun.
I like them because it brings back the joy of the old top gear
at minute 20.50 when the scooter guy was running without the scooter mad me laugh
this is gonna be a good one, getting my snacks ready :-)
if bro ditched the scooter earlier he wouldve been chillin
Amazing, I'm stood by the shard as this video comes on autoplay
