- Trooper's Report:
On March 19th, 2024, at approximately 11:15 PM, I, Trooper James Booth, was driving southbound on I-430 when I noticed a
vehicle speeding on the river bridge. I caught up with the vehicle at the Rodney Parham exit and ran the license plate, which
showed an Arkansas license plate AAG46I that had expired in 2022. When the traffic light turned green, the vehicle accelerated
to 51 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. The driver, later identified as Draethan Ford, immediately turned into the
McDonald’s parking lot to evade me. I followed him to the parking lot and tried to stop him, but he drove around my patrol car
and headed north on Breckenridge Drive while running a red light. Despite my emergency lights and siren, Mr. Ford continued
to drive at a speed of approximately 35-40 miles per hour, and he turned right onto Catskill Road, which led to Old Forge Drive.
He still failed to yield to my emergency lights and siren. Eventually, he turned right onto Sanford Drive and stopped in front of
his residence. I got out of my car and ordered Mr. Ford to place his hands on the hood. I then placed him into custody. While
speaking to Mr. Ford, he informed me that he was headed home to take his medicine and asked me to lift his shirt. I could see
a medical tube in his stomach. I explained to Mr. Ford that he should have pulled over to the right when he saw emergency
blue lights behind his vehicle. He kept repeatedly saying that he was just trying to get home. I told him that if he had pulled
over, we wouldn't have ended up in this situation. After a brief conversation with the sergeant on duty, Mr. Ford was release
with the following traffic violations: 1. Speeding - More than 15 miles over the limit, 2. No liability insurance, 3. Driver of motor
vehicle failure to register 1st offense, 4. Fail to yield to emergency vehicle
After further investigation it was determined that fleeing was appropriate action of violation. 5-54-125(d)(2) 2023: FLEEING -

If his meds were so important, he would've had them with him.
Did nothing but whine after breaking the law, and by his logic black cops should just give him a pass?
Fuck this guy.
The officer let him go, he messed up. When you have a high speed chase or the suspect has a gun next time he runs and someone gets hurt, it's on you..
@@CeeTee-12345 it comes to paying for his obvious medical needs. Which would exceed the value of his tickets. This is a form of revenue generation at the end of the day, crime fighting is a by-product.
He still has the tickets, and they don't have the costs. Win/win for the county and lose/lose for the idiot.
he Let him GO Because Thats his Brother...
Absolutely should be charged with fleeing.
The cop admits on video that he doesn’t think he was fleeing.
and running a red light
@@kevinallies1014If you read the report, you see that the trooper realized his mistake and charged the driver with felony fleeing.
Let him go. He is a good man.
That how white people want it to be
Emergency, had to get to my medicine.....why pull into McDonald's?
Because he knew he was speeding when he passed that trooper and ducked into that McDonald's to be slick thinking he could possibly evade a ticket. It backfired.
Was looking for this comment, pulled into mickey D’S and tried sitting there being slick to get out of the ticket after he passed by.
Good question
@@norikotakaya14292 For me as a European, the process is difficult to understand. There are well-equipped hospital wards in prisons as well as (in larger hospitals) hospital rooms suitable as prison rooms. However, the process of arrest - cell - judge is not necessarily common here; detention for more than 24 hours before a hearing is only imposed for serious crimes and a judge's arrest warrant.
Then he exited the McD's parking lot and ran a red light. Busted! 🤣
Never fails to amaze me they, the suspects, have excuses to get out of everything including traffic violations, and work.
Do not forget he turned on his flashers right at the beginning, warning oncoming traffic. That should be good for a few points?
Its not a good excuse unless its not their fault, like "I'm late for work because i had a flat tire" or "my car battery was dead"
It seems pretty black and white to me. The whole thing would've been avoided had he just pulled over and explained the situation. Him doing what he did probably delayed him getting his medicine even longer since he was handcuffed and sat in the car until they figured out what was going on. Definitely earned that charge.
Bingo.
He should have just pulled over..fleeing the police 🚔 is a felony..arrest and goto jail. ..
Plus if he has a condition he should have his medication with him.
@@YodaJediMaster Not an American citizen but seen so many videos of people carrying "medication" that I probably understand why he didn't carry it....yes I know if it's legally prescribed and correctly stored and labelled....but you still get the odd cop who aint that clever. That said....all he had to do was stop - but he just "fits the narrative" because as OP stated he didn't get his medication whilst stuck in handcuffs in the back of a patrol vehicle.
I remember years back an old man tearing down the road because he was getting his wife to the hospital, the cop pulled them over and he stopped and the cop went ballistic, put him in cuffs and held them there. The wife ended up passing away. I'm not putting my life or the life of my loved one in the hands of someone that might be having a bad day.
Felony fleeing.
How exactly is it felony fleeing? Felony fleeing in Arkansas requires reckless endangerment.
@@kevinallies1014
And running a red light, running a stop sign, speeding, driving in opposite lane into traffic is not endangering other peoples lives???
You seem as dumb as he was!!!
@@kevinallies1014 From the AR code- "(2) Fleeing by means of any vehicle or conveyance is considered a Class D felony if, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, a person purposely operates the vehicle or conveyance in such a manner that creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person."
I'd say that him running the red light when he knew the cop was trying to stop him would qualify under that rule. At least enough so to charge him with one.
@@kevinallies1014 Speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, disregard of traffic signs/signals, no turn signal, not stopping for police..........seems pretty reckless endangering to me 🤷

Good job, LEO. 🫡
None of this ever has to happen - just pull over and follow instructions. They need a new charge: Driving While Stupid!
Here is the kicker.. You can flunk the driver test as many times as you want. Take the test every day until you pass(Basically remember all the questions and answers).. And you still get to drive.. But you still never learned the laws of the road..

Felony fleeing - disregard for the police and using the old “since I made it to home base you have to let me go.”
And of the old four way blinky flashers defense. Why do they never learn?
How exactly is it felony fleeing? Don’t even both because you obviously don’t know what Arkansas law says about felony fleeing. You are just a yapping dog.

If you listen carefully to the ASP audio, there was a suggestion that he could be charged with "Impersonating an Emergency Vehicle" in regards to running the hazards and refusing to stop, as opposed to the "Felony Fleeing" he was finally charged with.
Criminal: "I'm not trying to die." You fooled me. Fleeing recklessly puts you at less risk?
He is lucky Trooper Byrd wasnt around. He could have died with the Red Baron PITs you out.
Wow, he should have been arrested.. car towed fleeing is fleeing go to jail .catch a felony!
If he was having a medical issue he should have called 911 and got an ambulance not drive.
These guys have all learned to try to get home to avoid a tow fee. They should automatically tow the vehicle for fleeing and more so when they have no license or insurance etc. Medical issues or not, no excuse for fleeing. Period.
How simple is it to just flipping COMPLY!!!??? His negligence led to this nonsense.🙄
💯 would have taken him to jail. His medication was only blood pressure medication and you can be late with that or miss a dose and it's perfectly fine. Total 💩 excuse.
Yes indeed! This guy is full of crap bigly. You don't just take BP meds like this. They have to be taken regularly at the same time daily and not just because, unless he's on something we're not aware of, but I doubt it. BP meds aren't like some medications such as those for diabetes or Parkinson's where they can run down suddenly. PD meds can do that as the disease progresses leaving the patient in some serious shape but this definitely isn't the case. I've witnessed both and it's pretty bad with the PD patient suddenly freezing and unable to move.
My gut tells me that this twat races around all the time and never got caught before and now that he got stopped, he's using meds as an excuse.
Don't you know fleeing from the police LOWERS the blood pressure?
so what makes you a medical expert, when you don't even know what other medical complications he has? i think your evaluation is complete 💩 itself, as you were hoping for a PIT/TVI to make your time worthy of watching this video, you deserve an F based on your assumption
@@Exindel He almost immediately showed the ignoramus Officer his Type 1 Insulin pump which helps people control in managing blood glucose levels. Medical emergency involves pulling into McDonalds parking lot?
Chicken nuggies make everything better!
Hell yeah he shoulda been charged. He only stopped cause he knew he had no chance and didn't want his car tore up

He doesn't look sick to me and he is running out off the mouth. He was fleeing!
Absolutely he was fleeing. He thinks he should have been given a pass for being a member of the club. Good to hear that ultimately wasn’t the case.
"Tell it to the judge." Plain and simple.
Medical emergency: get home before fries get cold.
High blood pressure, bad cholesterol and eats at McDonald's 😅
Darn good excuse! McDonald's fries are only good for about seven minutes after they come out of the fryer...

If your medicine is that time sensitive, you carry it with you at all times. Garbage excuse.
I love how they always leave these people in the back of their car with their cell phone so they can communicate with people that would never happen in California
Trooper Booth is a very busy man.
Yeah I love seeing him interact with these suspects, he doesn't play around.
Felonious Dumbassery should be the charge. He doesnt want to die so instead he flees totally ignoring a trooper is going to be more aggressive when finally catching him increasing the chance of another dumb action making him dead. He isnt a thug, maybe not but how is the Trooper to know that? The trooper can only respond to his actions.
He conveniently drove home knowing his car was not insured & would probably be towed.
You don’t get to do what you want when you want. There are a few rules.
I call bs. If his medicine is so important that he'll die without it, he should have it with him. If it's just for high bp he won't die if he takes it late. He sat in the back of the police car for least half hr but didn't say once that he was feeling bad, gonna die if he don't get his meds immediately.
Stupid is no excuse although our government wants us to believe it is. Before I started watching these video's I never knew so many people had such blatant disregard for the law. He doesn't think he did anything wrong!!!!! Blaming the cops for detaining him.

I think it worked out the way it should have, from the original charges to the ultimate charges. The officer was trying to do what he thought was appropriate. But, I agree with the final charge of fleeing.
Well, obviously, he didn't need his blood pressure medication that bad. He's fine. The only emergency he had was he got caught speeding and thought he could get out of it. Many people have to take blood pressure medication. It's nothing like being a diabetic. This sets a bad precedent for the next trooper that has to deal with this BS
If you need your meds that bad you have them with you.
@ninjabearpress2574 yes exactly you read my mind 💯
the old 4 way flasher afraid of the cops defense. same suspect different day
Definitely should have been charged with a fleeing.
He was ultimately charged with fleeing as he should have been.
Driver should have called 911 to attend medical care..not risked a high speed chase.
The rules don't apply to me because I'm black and I have my 4 ways on. LOL This is the third video I've seen where cuffed in the car ad these guys are able to play with their cell phones. The conversations are all recorded in the car, but I'd say there needs to be some retraining on searching people a little better before putting them in the car.
Yes he should have been charged with fleeing. If you have a medical condition you carry your medication with you at all times. I have medical conditions and I always have my medication with me. No matter what the situation is you always pull over to the right for blue lights.
I have hbp and use medication daily....... there's absolutely no danger in missing your dose for up to two days ! Even then it doesn't skyrocket up to a life threatening level , He's probably taking Lisinopril once a day (time release) so he's playing the officer who obviously doesn't know !
same. if i miss mine doc says just don't forget the next day and u'll be just fine. if he does have an episode like i do occasionally and his BP does skyrocket to a point he needs additional meds it's not safe to drive in that condition. i can barely walk if my BP goes above 170-180. his is most prolly due to diabetes for which he has the medical device on his stomach w/ the tube releasing insulin into his abdomen. looks scary but actually isn't
The amazement on his face when the Officer started to put on the Magic Bracelets.........What in the Hello did you THINK was going to happen? Of COURSE the officer is treating you the way he did....how does HE KNOW you dont have a gun?
So, it is appropriate to release a car which is not legally insured to drive in the state? Should have been towed. That high blood pressure excuse is flimsy.
Maybe he knew he was going to be towed… so he conveniently drove home.
Blood pressure pills..that all he can miss it once gees I’ve missed mine at times
He knew he was suppose to stop. Excuses excuses!
Awsome job Trooper Booth Stay safe 💙💙❤️❤️
He should've gotten a check up at the hospital, then been arrested and lost his license permanently.
By the time his cuffs were being checked for tightness, he could have already been home, IF he had stopped instead of fleeing, chillin' with a bong full of his "medicine."
Suspect pulled into McDonalds to try to ditch the cop when he saw the cop do the u-turn. With lights flashing in front of him, suspect took off and proceeded to run a red light and a stop sign. Also, if you have a medical issue that requires medication "to stay alive", then why would you goto work without your medication? If he was heading directly home, then why did he pull into McDonalds? I wouldn't let him off. Sounds like he uses his medical issues as excuses.
Absolutely should have been charged for fleeing. All he had to do is stop, explain the situation, the officer would likely have understood the need to get home and *escort* him there. May have even got off with a warning about the speeding and have a good night.
Unless there is a life or death reason you are running, and in that case you should be running directly to a hospital, and/or in this day and age of cell phones calling 911 to explain yourself before you get there, you stop.
Stopping would not have taken NEARLY this much time at the end of it, probably.
/However in this day and age of people being scared of the police, I certainly understand why people don't, and that in and of itself is a problem...
If I had run from the police, I would be in jail. A tube coming out of my stomach would not have changed that.
Watching these videos, I really appreciate the officers' restraint. The blatant disrespect as well as refusal to comply with simple verbal commands. This guy just avoided jail time, and he's arguing with the officer just to prove a point. Im sure they dont hear it enough, but thank you, Arkansas State Troopers.
Usual suspect that thinks laws don't apply to them
no emergency 5 seconds before the attempted stop, so its lies.
I saw a little North Little Rock PD action yesterday at a merge point on I40. Driving my big rig, I saw blue lights coming up behind me on the right. I checked the left lane and it was clear so I moved over and the SUV squad shot past me like a bullet. I was like where is the perp? Show me some pit action. No such luck. Maybe next time. Keep up the good work North Little Rock and thanks for the content.
Yes he deserves it he should have stopped
Totally Charged for Fleeing and Being Stupid! Great work Trooper Booth!
Load of BS. If his medicine is so crucial that he will keel over dead at any millisecond without it, then he should have his meds with him at all times. This seems like a guy who loves to play the victim.
Should have been charged with fleeing, regardless of his so-called reason. It doesn't appear to have been a life or death need to get the meds right away. It is also obvious he was initially trying to dodge the cop by turning into McDonald's.
Mr. Ford was released
with the following traffic violations: 1. Speeding - More than 15 miles over the limit, 2. No liability insurance, 3. Driver of motor
vehicle failure to register 1st offense, 4. Fail to yield to emergency vehicle.
damn right he needed to be charged with fleeing. he didnt stop. blue lights come on.. you stop.. you dont be not stopping to go home..
Absolutely fleeing charge. BP meds have nothing to do with the port tube. That's like saying I have headache and needed to get home for aspirin. 😂😂😂
Getting into a high-speed chase with the cops is a great way to lower your blood pressure.
At a minimum, he should be charged with "failure to yield to a "lights and siren" emergency vehicle.
Well of course he has a medical issue, he was getting pulled over! It's the only time these people ever have a medical issue. Actually during traffic stops and going to work.
To be fair, this guy did have a g-tube, so he at least isn’t lying…it’s no excuse, still.
I'd have high blood pressure if I were running from the law, too.
Dude was so close to his house, all he had to do was explain the situation to the trooper when the lights csme on, before he blew thruogh that red light....
He was fleeing because he didn’t stop! Had he checked his BLOOD pressure in the car or how did he know it was high? Excuses! Excuses! Just trying to get away with something!
Good job trooper!😊
Hey Police Pursuits, Happy Easter to you and your family. Thank you for the video. Have a great day today.

Thank your brothas for that stop. They’re the ones that make police question you guys.

"I'm not trying to die" Nothing says safety first like fleeing Arkansas police
I once cut my hand badly and couldn't stop the bleeding. I was 18. I was speeding and an officer turned on lights and siren. I stopped. When he saw my hand he escorted me to the hospital with lights, no siren. He also didn't give me a ticket. The thing is, i stopped even tho i was bleeding all over the car.
Also, now at age 80 i am on blood pressure medication and occasionally i am late taking it and, rarely, i miss a dose. Doesn't hurt.
If it’s a medical emergency then it would be ok, but he really should’ve stopped to advise the officer of the situation sooner rather than later.
YES BEING STUPID IS NO REASON NOT TO BE CHARGED. HE SHOULD BE ON HIS WAY TO JAIL.
hear it every day. they have an excuse for everything they do that is against the law. they never at fault for anything.
Evidently, blue lights and siren don't mean anything to bold drivers.
I have had HBP for years. There is no way taking a dose late, or even missing a dose, is going to kill me or incapacitate me or harm me in any fashion. TOTAL BS excuse. The young trooper is right, and the perp is unrepentant. Needs some real consequences.
Fleeing
Hate it for him but stopping and explaining his situation was the only proper response.
If there had been any medical emergency the trooper would have helped.
Officer Booth was trying to give him a break on the fleeing... The video led to the charge being tacked on later.
Well isn't he a little princess thinking he did nothing wrong when he didn't stop. Medication my ass, he was worried they would tow his car. Oh princess he is #1 a officer and his skin color means jack.
No blood pressure medication takes blood pressure down as quickly as this guy is trying to have the cop believe. He’s just evading the cop thinking if he’s home he can’t be arrested. He pulled into a parking lot trying to evade the cop bc he was speeding. When the cop caught up to him he drove home. Why did the cop let him keep his phone?
There treating me like a intelligent human being making me accountable for my actions. How dare they.
