Drug Runner tries to get back to Memphis - Arkansas State Police quickly PIT Maneuver Infiniti

On April 14th, 2024, I, Trooper Dairren Evans #573, was patrolling Interstate 40 West near the 284-mile marker. I noticed a
black passenger car with noticeably fictitious Tennessee temporary tags. I activated my emergency equipment, initiating a
traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect vehicle slowed down and stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 40. As I made my
approach the vehicle accelerated and fled the traffic stop.
The suspect vehicle fled at speeds over 100 miles per hour and recklessly weaving through traffic before taking the 281 exit.
The suspect vehicle turned left onto Mound City Road disregarding the stop sign. Then the suspect vehicle took another left
onto the ramp for Interstate 40 East. At this time, I performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention causing the suspect vehicle to exit
the roadway to the left.
Once the suspect vehicle was disabled, I began to give several commands to the occupants that were disregarded by the driver
and passenger. I waited for more units to arrive on the scene before attempting to take the occupants into custody. Upon other
officers' arrival, we were able to place the driver, identified as Michael Chalmers of Tennessee and the passenger
identified as Ebony Jackson of Tennessee, in custody without further incident.
Michael Chalmers at one point began to shake and not respond to conversation, I performed a sternum rub to check his
responsiveness while awaiting medical professionals. Michael Chalmers would start to respond to the sternum rub until I
stopped then would lay down again. I continued this process until Michael Chalmers sat up on his own and began speaking. An
Ambulance made the scene to assess Michael Chalmers and found no medical issues.
Michael Chalmers was checked through the National Crime Information Center [REDACTED CRIMINAL HISTORY].
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, which revealed a large baggie of white powdery substance, 1 large
baggie containing a white rock-like substance, 1 plastic baggie containing a white crystal-like substance, 2 large plastic baggies
containing a green leafy substance, and a small glass bottle with a large number of unidentified pills. A small scale with residue
and multiple open bottles of alcohol were also found in the vehicle.
All evidence was collected and turned over to the Drug Task Force for further investigation.
Michael Chalmers was charged with the following:

Judge gave him a $25000 bond , which he posted the 10% ($2500) a month later....now he's in jail for murder shooting someone, judge could of saved a life with harsher penalties. For some reason, they think it's gonna somehow help them to call White Officers racist but, it doesn't help the situation at all. It just shows how racist Black people are. 50 years ago, I would have agreed with Black folks saying all Police Officers are racist but, not any more. The majority of today's racism is coming from Black people being very vocal about it on social media. Of course, there are still plenty of White racists in the southern red states and always will be. Regardless, "You pull'n me over cuz I'm Black" really needs to stop. It's just not true. You were pulled over because you broke the law.
