Felony High Speed Pursuit - PIT / TVI into power pole sends sparks flying (Arkansas State Police)

- Trooper's Report:
On March 19, 2024 at around 8:55 PM, Trooper James Booth was driving north on I-430 near Shackleford when he noticed a
black Nissan SUV speeding at 83 mph in a 65 mph zone. The vehicle took the 630 on ramp exit going eastbound. Trooper
Booth tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as Jimmie Clark, refused to yield. Jimmie Clark accelerated over
100 mph. Trooper Booth radioed communications that he was in pursuit of the vehicle on 630 going eastbound passing John
Barrow. Mr. Clark was improperly passing on the right and was still going over 100 mph in the number 1 lane passing. During
the pursuit, Mr. Clark almost collided with two vehicles in front of him while trying to flee. The pursuit continued to the Woodrow
exit where Mr. Clark crossed over two lanes to take the exit. Mr. Clark drove on South Woodrow passing 12th with speeds of 80
mph and light traffic. Mr. Clark threw a black bag out of the driver's side window, which was later recovered. Trooper Booth
performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention on the vehicle near W 16th and S Woodrow, and the vehicle came to a stop after
hitting a concrete barrier and a power line pole. Trooper Booth immediately got out of his patrol car with the help of Trooper J
Killian, and they began to clear the vehicle. They found Mr. Clark in the rear section of the vehicle. They commanded Mr. Clark
several times to raise his hands so they could see he didn’t have a weapon. Trooper Booth shouted to Mr. Clark to move to the
front of the vehicle so they could safely remove him from the vehicle due to the low power lines hanging. After several attempts
to get Mr. Clark to move to the front of the vehicle, the rear window of the SUV was broken so they could extract Mr. Clark.
They placed him in custody and MEMS transported him to UAMS for medical clearance. Trooper Booth did a fingerprint scan
on Mr. Clark, and it showed that Mr. Clark was wanted by the Benton Police Department.
The vehicle was towed by East End Towing Company and once Mr. Clark was cleared from UAMS. He was then transported to
Pulaski County Jail to be charged accordingly.

I have a 30 year old car that certainly could outrun most cops but I have respect for humanity, respect for cops and people like me are part of the reason some cars can last 30 years.

It was just flashing the secondary wire and not the primary (top wires). They don't blow the transformer fuse as fast.
