@@GT-43 I´m from Europe and I still can´t understand why every city in the US needs a own PD. In Germany we have 17 agencies.,16 for the 16 states and 1 federal police. It´s kind of nonsense to let someone slip within your country just because a PD has another policy than ASP. If someone in Germany runs from the State of Bavaria to the state of Hesse, the State Police of Hesse would wait on him at the border and would countinue the chase. There are even videos from the dutch police who chased a stolen van across the border into Germany and assisted the arrest. Kinda cool and it´s so easy to work together as law enforcement in Europe.
I remember chasing cars from Louisiana into Texas. The judge in Longview would issue an immediate extradition order and we'd drive him back into Louisiana.
As a New Zealander, I've always found it weird that the US has separate police forces (city police and state troopers). The closest we've ever come to that was when we had traffic police (like, say, the California Highway Patrol) and "ordinary" police, but both were combined into one force a few years ago. The same goes for "state lines" when a criminal heads for the "state line" to get away. We have provinces but the laws are the same across all of them so it'd be no use for a criminal here to head for the "provincial line"!
In most states it's a layered system. City cops stay in the city. County cops can operate outside or inside the cities in their county. State cops operate everywhere in the state. You may leave your area by a mutual aid agreement, but you are never primary any more. A few (like Virginia) are really odd. A city is not part of the surrounding county, it's an island of independence, There's an old video on this channel where someone fled into Oklahoma at 150mph+. That state picked up the chase with several cars at the border, and AR would have normally dropped out, but only ONE of the OK cars could keep up. So the AR trooper stayed in the chase simply to provide backup to the lone OK officer. He even went clear out of range of his own dispatcher on his radio and had to switch to his cellphone. OK made the stop, AR trooper covered the lone OK officer till other OK units arrived a couple minutes later.
Most of the country it's not an issue, the police will take over the chase in the new state. The problem here is a Democrat city, Memphis, which forbids police chases, so they won't pick it up, and the scumbags get away. But most of the rest of the country the police will chase you till the wheels fall off no matter how many counties or states you go through.

There was just an interview with the head guy from the ASP, claiming that the ASP doesn't stop pursuing vehicles when they cross into Tennessee. I love LOVE'S truck stops! They're awesome!
They can cross state lines if called ahead
Memphis doesn't allow them to chase over minor traffic offenses.
@@DS-lt7fw It's Memphis!
He let the brotha go!
NO!

Btw, anyone here thought about the danger for bystanders created by this chase? First police duty is to serve and protect. If you chase a car with 140 mph chances third parties might be harmed or even killed is high. So it's the better choice to stop and protect innocent parties. Not very satisfying to let the criminals go, but better than killing someone who has nothing to do with the whole chase.
Rookie OR waiting for authorization????? Where's the interstation cooperation for law and order?????
OMG NO. That Trooper is no rookie and doesn't need authorization! The City of Memphis is the only place where they wont cooperate with ASP. The rest of the state is fine.

@@nigeltufnel9525 fake news homeboy...they should be going after the Biden crime family but we know that's never gonna happen cause of democrat immunity 😂🤣😅
@@RicFlair-yn1mm straight stupid
"DANG IT"! "COME HERE"! Yeah that's not gonna happen. Get a lil 'gooz fra ba' in your life officer.
they will continue with local police.
No tennessee doesn't continue pursuits
Tennessee doesn’t pursue
I paid 4.10 the other day.
First 😅
Why did Arkansas throw in the towel? They could have continued the pursuit in Memphis while notifying Memphis police and the Tennessee state boys!
Memphis doesn’t allow high speed chases
The policy stems from the Memphis DA saying he would hold any LEO agency liable for bad chase in Memphis. Tennessee in general is a chase friendly state but these democratic run cities cater to illegals and illegal activity. Time for a change in the Mayor and DA and the policy will be changed again like it used to be. They need a gate they can activate on the Arkansas side that closes and boxes them in lol NOW with that being said, if it is a violent felony then they will continue the pursuit into Memphis. They had one just few weeks ago with ASP and aggravated robbery with firearm.
I agree. This guy could be dangerous for all we know but god forbid crossing a bridge
@@M48PattonBrawlStars It's the bridge crossing into Memphis!!!!! They have a No Chase Policy and they wont cooperate with ASP!
