On January 13th, at approximately 1:50 am, Ofc. Kuntz was involved in a vehicle pursuit that ended with the suspect vehicle crashing into a tree. Ofc. Kuntz was giving verbal commands to the subject to exit the vehicle when he recognized the subject was unconscious and began approaching the vehicle.
Ofc. Dukes and Ofc. Griffith were following the pursuit behind Ofc. Kuntz and arrived at the crash scene immediately after him. They all three began to approach the suspect vehicle when it started smoking profusely and erupted into flames. Ofc. Kuntz quickly retrieved his fire extinguisher from his patrol vehicle and told other officers to do the same. Sgt. Mason Curtis then arrived on scene and assisted them.
Ofc. Kuntz used multiple fire extinguishers to contain the fire, allowing Sgt. Curtis, Ofc. Dukes, and Ofc. Griffith to work on removing the unconscious subject from the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames. While Ofc. Kuntz worked to control the fire, Ofc. Griffith cut the seatbelt off the unconscious suspect. Sgt. Curtis and Ofc. Dukes assisted with pulling him from the vehicle to safety before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
It should also be noted that officers from the Bryant Police Department and the Saline County Arkansas Sheriff's Office also assisted our officers during this incident.
Due to their heroic actions, officers were able to save an individual’s life. They will all be further recognized next year at our 2024 awards banquet.

Kind of looked like the squad car was going to go up in flames also
It was smokin .
They deserve the praise they're getting.
God bless them. I’ve worn the badge and was a fire chief, they did an outstanding job.
@@glennchapman8309 Awesome.
Officer had an adrenaline dump that ripped off that door.
Well maybe, but today's economy cars are not exactly built Chevy tough. Still impressive and not fun to be burned while you start working.
That's what I was gonna say. I know cars aren't built as rough these days but you still gotta be a badass to almost yank a door completely off
Those officers went above their duties. They are not firefighters. Those cops are true heroes.
This is the reason that most police academies put the cadets through a fire-department familiarization course, so that officers on the road have general knowledge of firefighting techniques and know how to properly employ the equipment that they (should) have at their disposal.
It's also good to be exposed to an actual fire so that you can understand the feeling of being in the heat, smoke and blindness that a fire generates.
It dispels all of the Hollywood illusions of working though and/or surviving a car or structure on fire..................
What are you talking about?
This is their job, they would be complete 🐄ards if they stood there and did nothing.
@@dr.jillalicecooper2587Pretty sure dealing with lethal levels of fire and/or smoke is literally the job of this thing called a "fire department."
Willingly entering that situation without the proper equipment at great risk to yourself is absolutely above and beyond.
Yes i agree but it is not there job to fight fires that what makes them heroes.doing what is not their job.@@dr.jillalicecooper2587
@@dr.jillalicecooper2587 Unfortunately for the general public, if those LEOs had done nothing but called for Fire-Rescue they would have been completely free of any legal obligation to save the life of the victim.
So yes, they are HEROS who went "above and beyond" their duties to save that driver.
It’s unfortunate that these heroes risk their lives for criminals
It's their job to do anything in their power in situations like this. That's what they sign up for with this job.
@@dr.jillalicecooper2587 It's still unfortunate.
How much you want to bet the person they saved never said thank you and blames them for getting him into this situation.
@@larssandvik1347 Sure, if you don't KNOW about his crime just make up some crap, right? Your justice system already exists. In North Korea, China and Russia.
@@speedingatheist what kind of idiot are you? Hopefully we shall see a video of you on here someday. I also am looking forward to the second. It takes God to decide about you. I celebrate the Bible. people Like you never.
As a retired ff and chief, 99% of the incidents we redponded to the cops were already there and working. Much respect for good officers. Like any profession, there are lazy, sleazy idiots.
Props to that LEO who was pulling on the door! 😲
'Who rescued you?'
'Kuntz'
'That's not a very grateful attitude'
It's pronounced Koontz.
@@concretecaveman7666First name, Mike.
Officer went ape on that door.
Adrenalin is amazing.............
Careful.
I wonder what the physics are like there. I guess if you're pulling on that upper corner you've got the most leverage on the hinge you can get, and I guess it's possible the crash has compromised the structure somewhat. Very impressive.
For those with no experience at changing from the aggressor of "let's get the SOB," and immediately flipping to "let's save this guy," the energy expended in such action is indescribable. Great work all around!
Car erupts in a ball of fire and main officer reacts instantly and runs towards danger. Hero! Great job officer. You and your buddies saved a life.
The true meaning of Protect and Serve. Even if it's protecting an idiot who was just fleeing from them.
Kudos officers! Your good deeds do not go unnoticed. Keep up the outstanding work you do.
Dude ripped that door wide open! Props to ALL those officers!!
Great Job 👍🏽❤️🇺🇸 GOD BLESS LAW ENFORCEMENT 😇🙏🏽
These Police Officers are Hero’s!!!!!!!!!!!!
Serve AND Protect! Great work!
Well done all Officers involved in this incident 👍🏻👊🏻 RESPECT!
Well done to the Officers
Well done guys.
Bravo, brave LE. 🎉
All the officers involved did a great job!!!!💙💙💙💙💙💙
Well done to all involved. Years of training and professionalism helped them
Great Job Officers & I'm glad the white Kitty Cat in the road is safe also. At least that's what I think I saw before getting to the scene.
Quick thinking of these officers saving lives..they deserve to be honoured..they don’t earn enough money for this
It’s a Blessing to have Such Fine committed Police Officers Either City or County or State Police Absolutely Amazing Job 💙💙💙💙For Saving Someone Life
Shifting from felony-arrest mode to rescue and lifesaving-mode is something that many LEOs have had to do.
Good tactics instructors will throw this sort of scenario into the training regime to get officers to think through such a scenario.
Sometimes a fire-extinguisher, crash-axe and Halligan bar are more important than your patrol rifle...........
For all the times that LE have needed to break windows open, it's surprising not a single agency requires them to carry glass/window breakers.
@@AWDfreak When I was working as an EMT, I carried a folding knife/seatbelt cutter with a spring loaded window breaker. Most of the time I never noticed the weight of it. I used the knife most, the cutter a few times and the breaker only in training, but was glad I had it. Depending on what they already carry on their duty belts, something like this may be an option to carry.
Great job👍
Simply Fantastic. Thank you. Those gents ripped the doors off that piece of shyte and folded them like a K-Mart lawn chair which is now on sale (they come 3 in a set) for $1.49. Why does this video and others that are similar not make the legacy media at all? Hmmmmmmmmm. It is a good to ponder that question. Perhaps open the borders fully? No, this is not the time for that nonsense. Well done. Blessings to the folks who saved that individual's life. Maybe, just maybe, some lessons will be learned. Thank you for the coverage.
Good evening Police Pursuits, I'm happy that the Officers saved this guy's life. The ate all heroes and I thank them for a fantastic job and for their service. Have a good night and a wonderful weekend too.
Outstanding job, officers! You not only saved the perp's life, you also saved the tree wich is more important. 👍💙
Arkanpit Strikes Back!
👮🏻♂️ - “You must like learning things the hard way, son.”
Nice job, officers!!
That tree should not have been fleeing from the police.
Well done by the officers before the suspect became well done.
Nice job!!
Holy shit. That happened fast.
💙💙💙
Damn, the brakes on that squad car are COOKED!
well done officers...good job....BUT i'd like to know more background to this case.....
😮🔥!!!
Did that officer just rip that door off?
The cruiser that the video came from must have had some heated brakes.
City was going to remove that tree anyway, so they
received some help.
Tree a living thing, in case you forgot.
Putting the fire out for me would be very difficult !
I wasn’t sure if I was riding along with a police officer or Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Rick Moranis!
Great work on Flamebusters behalf! Both a fire and crime fighter!
Looks like a lot of effort for someone who most likely hates police and will be unappreciative.
Is the troopers car on fire too?
Hot brakes in a humid area maybe?
Saved the driver, doubtful they got a thank you from the driver though.
LEO ruined that patrol unit, steam, motor oil, and trans fluid vapors coming from it.
Most likely very hot brakes in cold humid weather.
Hello
Three tow trucks?
I heard that also. Rather curious as to why.
Touchmaster 🥰
Not to be disrespectful or seemingly unappreciative of the officers potential life saving actions in getting the driver out of his burning vehicle, but an activist lawyer could argue that the man’s injuries, and his property was destroyed because the police were chasing him. A WOKE Liberal judge might buy that BS and award this guy big money.
didn't the cop's car catch on fire in this one, too? Ya can't park on grass on the side of the road....
