Bradley Beach, New Jersey - On November 9, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., the Bradley Beach Police Chief Leonard Guida showed up unexpectedly to a traffic accident on Main Street, where the driver was later charged with DWI. The chief was not in uniform and dressed casually, and the sergeant, William Major said he was “drunk again," according to the report. The police chief tried to take the Sgt. Major away from the scene to criticize him for wearing a jacket with peeling police lettering. In the footage, the chief is heard saying, "Why do you got a jacket on that's not fit to be worn?"
The chief and sergeant ended up on the hood of a patrol car during the altercation, with someone heard saying, "You grabbed me." Sgt. Major is also heard on video saying, "He's drunk again ... Chief, get out of here or you are going to get locked up." The chief then is heard telling Sgt. Major he's relieving him of his duties, saying, "You're suspended." Sgt. Major was later allowed to resume his full job responsibilities. After the Monmouth County Prosecutor Office's investigation, Guida was placed on paid administrative leave. His position as chief pays a salary of $202,500, according to state pension records.

How did the drunk Chief get there?
Kinda heartbreaking after he realizes what he did. But still, that's how they act on the field, see they need training for this exact thing!

100% balls only happened until the chief chewed them off. That cop quickly went from alpha to simp-ass bitch in less than 30 seconds. Why would anyone respect police? That's a serious question. I reckon, back the blue....till it happens to you.
I'm no confucianist, but one of the aspects I admire is that a part of the "always respect your superiors" is that sometimes they are in the wrong and the most respectful thing to do is to set them straight.
In practice, that always gets set aside, of course.

I love this video. I laugh every time I see it 🤣 it's amazing how unprofessional this department is, and how their chief shows up drunk to DWI accidents.
"Drunk again" says a lot
exactly, chief shows up to shifts drunk and calls his men drunkenly constantly, when he's supposed to be off duty.
He can drink off duty
Can he interfere with police duties while off duty?@@Whiskerman
@@WhiskermanYea, he can. But he shouldn't interfere with investigations or showing up sloshed at crash sites, mumbling weird shit to his men.
The fact that the chief drove there, and was allowed to drive away from the scene speaks volumes...

Just shows what a real asswhole he is drunk or not
He didn't drive

lmao, the guy was trying to leave after being told he’s suspended, and yet the chief stopped only to remind him again that he’s suspended, what a complete moron
I was hoping to hear the drunk driver pointing out that the police chief was also a drunk driver!!!
The drunk Chief was placed on "paid administrative leave". Nothing like a paid vacation for being drunk and abusing your authority.
not defending him but he still needs to pay the bills
@@nighted290 does he deserve tax dollars to pay them tho
@@nighted290He should have thought about that before he chose to drink.

The Chief is a disgrace to the badge, the community, and his fellow officers. He should resign IMMEDIATELY. Disgusting.
Agreed , he 's literally at a crash scene complaining about an officers jacket and how it looks and tells him" fix that youre a Sgt for gods sake". But the fact that he's a Chief and hes drunk showing up at a crash and hampering the investigation doesnt register with him? SMH this Chief is no leader and based off of this interacrtion he should be removed from the position and the Department immediately
Sometimes people need to lose alot to get sober. Disgrace, i think is a little harsh. Terrible, alcoholic judgement? Yes. Trust me when I say, his next morning didn't go well. He's all done
Does not matter if the chief was drinking you still have to listen to what he is saying that was stupid all he had to do was say ok chief and step back once you put your hands on any chief your going to be sent home and may be even fired

There was an investigation of the police chief where he was found to have committed a number of violations, and then he retired.
This officer has so much respect for his chief, this is like a father letting down his son. Its very sad honestly, the chief really needs to see the family he has around him in uniform and ask for help.

A drunken chief drove to a crash scene and insisted on berating the sargeant over the condition of his jacket. *That* is unbelievable. And none of the other cops backed the sergeant up.
Why should they back the sergeant up? He has taught them to let cops slide - even in this incident. Did he arrest the chief? Why not?
