Please put power consumption listed on the overlay next time. I think it's important for people to see how RX6600 is one of the most power efficient cards on the market. I also wanted to see how much your 5800X3D was using in 1440p..
below 100w undervolted + passivly cooled here ^^
Agree.
Power consumption is 🤯.
Very happy with rx 6600 power usage & performance.
Got the Sapphire version of this little card(best version in my opinion, with metallic backplate and smaller more compact size than the Asus), bought it as an upgrade from a 1650.
It was the first card that gave 200 euro for since i only gave 150 for my 1050Ti and even lower for my 1650 but if we count inflation threw the years then i guess it wasn't really that much more expensive than the 1050Ti.
Was defintly worth the price since i finally got the 8GB of memory that solved any issues i was facing due to low memory with my two previous 4GB models.
It really rocks and for me that has a 1080p screen it can play absolutely everything just fine and even in high detail. At 1080p you can even get some ray tracing going if you play with the settings.
I plan to stick with my screen for another 2-3 years at least(it's a good screen with 144HZ refresh rate as well), i think being 1080p isn't a big problem it looks quite fine(yes i have seen higher resolution screens, i wasn't blown away by the difference) and with that it means the little RX6600 probably has a good 2-3 years of life in it as well.
If you calculate frame per euro etc then it is a value king type of card. The only regret is that it isn't plug and play as my previous cards and needs more power.
I also have the Sapphire version of this GPU. No, this ASUS Dual version is better (not because performance, but because of better cooling). Sapphire model has terrible fans that can get crazy loud (push it to the 120W PL and you'll see), meanwhile the ASUS Dual model has bigger fans, allowing it to perform better and also quieter. I only bought Sapphire model because it was cheaper than the ASUS model
@@prosecanlik4296i got the ASUS model it arrived last March 7, 2024. I love that it's so quiet and always under 60c in my tropical country when gaming. it was the same price as the Sapphire, XFX & Asrock. the ASUS is definitely the best model of 6600 coz of the way it's cooling design. My friend got the 3060 12gb KO ASUS too. it's also quiet when the fans are on. I had a 2060 Gigabyte before this and it was so loud, I replaced it with this coz of the power savings long term and near silence when gaming.
I have ASUS version and I can confirm that@@prosecanlik4296
@@prosecanlik4296 Both version here in our country has the same price. I picked Asus for the reason that it is much cooler because I live in a tropical country. So, far its been amazing on heavy gaming it rarely reaches 60°C, even on a sunny/humid afternoon.
Sapphire version can overclock the most and unlock more power, thus adding more frames
I have this exact model almost a year ago for 143 usd and i couldnt be happier playing in 1080p high all of my games. And with fsr3 and other technologies it probably going to have 3 or more years to live
Love this little card, i added it to my 'work' PC during Covid and atm for the last couple of months i have been working on my watercooling setup on my main gaming rig, but this little card and game changers like FG (now also in the last of us), really have meant i need be in no hurry to finish work on my main rig, when that's done, i've been so impressed with the card i'm going to take it and put it in a low power mini itx build
Thanks for this video!! needed this.
Really good content mate. Subbed!
Bought one to put in an HP prebuilt that originally had a 1050 ti and an i5 8400, only has a 310 watt power supply with one spare 6 pin power cable, bought a 6 to 8 pin converter and gave it a try, been solid for almost a year now, max power draw overclocked is only 210 watts from the wall on my power meter when heavy gaming, entire computer uses less than 50 watts otherwise, i'm blown away how good this card is honestly.
I did a build for a family memeber using a xeon and a 6600m back in 2020 the build still works for them till this day
Is it good for editing (1080p) and recording games for youtube

Deep inside you like nvidia and u know nvdia is better thats why ur upset
Here in our country GTX 1660s and RX 6600 is just the same price.
I think this is the card I'll get to upgrade my sons PC from the RX480 which has been great but I'll probably use that in another basic build now. Thinking of pairing the RX 6600 with a Ryzen 5 5500 for a balance of budget and performance (he only really needs 1080P for now, doesn't have a monitor that can do more than that at 60Hz). The only thing I'm still considering is that my son wants to also potentially stream and record CZcams vids of him gaming, so i was also considering a NVidia 3050 or 3060 so he can use the NVENC chip to handle the streaming/encoding part , but interested to get your view on that.
I bought a RX 6800 ex mining card July last year, great card when paired with the 5800X3D, runs majority of the emulators I throw at it and AAA runs well.
I just ordered a used RX 6650 xt to upgrade my second gaming pc these RDNA 1/ 2 cards becoming the new budget option to replace RX 580s now
The rx6600 is a great budget card. I just did a $550 budget Mini ITX build with this card.
RX6600, Ryzen 5, B550ITX, through in the RAM and storage with a decent 550w power supply and you got a nice and cheap little pc
Just picked up the itx version for 160 for my 2nd daughters build. Not sure if to pair with AM5 ( i have spare DDR5 RAM) or AM4 like my older daughter has with 7600.
just bought yesterday. Im really happy with it
i got a MSI rx6600xt 2 years ago during the height of the expensive GPU times. paid $880 aud (over 500$ usd). Still excellent value despite this. works great with my ryzen 5600x. it maxes doom 2016 @ 170FPS 1440p
mine is Asrock Challenger D, bought after proof of work mining ended
at that time the first gpu to went down in price compared to other brands, including the same 6600s
even the 3050 was more expensive than the most expensive 6600
I bought a RX 6600 Eagle, hopefully it does well with 1080p for gaming
Is it good for video editing?
8 GB is plenty for 1080p and higher settings in games from before 2023, it's the higher settings, specifically 1440p ultra settings or 4k medium that you really need more than 8. At entry level, 8 GB will get you everything you need for some quality gaming at 1080p.
If you turn settings down a bit and use fsr the 6600 can handle 1440p too in a pinch
You need to to test the ASRock ARC Phantom Gaming ARC A770 16gb version. This card does not go over 66C on stock fan curve and performs extremely well.
I only have the LE models of the Arcs.
@@TechLabUK go buy one. They are genuinely the best that ARC has to offer of the entire product stack
@@jhowle9475 Why would he buy another Arc A770 16GB if he already has one?
@@ProYamYamPC cause the FE versions really aren’t great representatives of the whole product stack. Coolers are pretty inadequate making the cards throttle which reduces performance. Coolers on the ASRock PG cards has nearly triple the cooling volume and work much much better. On the whole, the PG versions just perform better because they don’t thermal throttle
Huh. Unusual that I see the exact card I own in one of these types of videos. :) [just got my ASUS Dual RX 6600 three days ago, replacing my ASRock Challenger ITX RX 6400, so mainly looking around at benchmark videos to find inspiration on what to wishlist for the Steam summer sale next month :P]
It's is amazing how much of a jump in in performance you got with that upgrade. Hope you have some great gaming with it.
@@TechLabUK More than double the performance, on paper, according to TechPowerUp. :)
Still, I don't regret my RX 6400 (bought in Dec '22) since it replaced the HD 6770 I'd been using for the previous 8 or 9 years. :)
@@ogrejd It will be more than double the performance in games as well. The RX 6400 is very limited even when in a PCIe Gen 4.0 slot.
Did a video a while back comparing the RX 6400, 6500XT and 6600. The 6600 was leagues ahead: czcams.com/video/31fZYsVkc5s/video.html
Budget beast, wanted to get sapphire one for good price at the end of december but i was short on money so i missed opportunity to get it, next day card was already sold😢. Got 7600 instead, no regrets though.

I'm running a a700 LE in my personal setup, but I did a build using an RX 6600 for a family member a few months ago and it's working out well for them.
Still running the A770LE in our studio rig and it's been flawless.
I have a powercolour RX6600 and it feels like my games don't look remotely as good as this. I have the latest drivers installed but I don't have the AMD software downloaded
I have XFX RX 6600 mated with a AMD 5800X with 32 g ram
I have the 3 fan gigabyte version. I know people don't like them, but mines never went over 40C, so im happy with it
Not sure why people don't like them. I have seen people comment on the three fans not being needed but who cares. The 3 fan versions look awesome in a case. You do you!
from 570 to 6600. best upgrade ive had. i think next upgrade would only make sense if I go 7800xt but, cpu first!
same upgrade path here, the difference is astonishing. Both cards value is crazy but messing round with settings I can get 60+ FPS on 1440p with the 6600, which is great. Hope it lasts for years to come.
@@sebsumner1188 may I know if you are using an AMD cpu and which one?
@@IcedcoffeeClips intel chip sorry!

Can you test this with a PCIe 3 GPU?
Do you mean in a PCIe Gen Board / Slot? If so the performance difference is minimal tbh. Nothing like the RX 6500Xt and 6400
Nice review and tests, but the music is super irritating.
How is a rx 6600 entry level...even in 2024 its low on the mid range but still is for 1080p. Its quite insane to say its entry level and it can do 1440p as well, on low/med settings it can get decent fps in AAA games and with how insanly unoptimized they are thats a great feat itself.
It's entry level because that is its classification lol
@@TechLabUKi knew you said it because its put that way but its still confusing how a card in 2024 can play in 1440p easily and still be ''entry level'', doesn't make any sence.
@@Burago2k Ahh, I suppose expectations on performance / settings has moved a long. I think this card is awesome and I have just taken the 7600 off the test bench and OMG it's amazing too.
well it achieves playable frame rate on 1440p high as well, so is this gpu then considered a 1440p high settings gpu?
Everyone considers every card differently tbh. There are no specific rules to it all which is why I find it strange when people say "This is a 1080p or 1440p card"... Based on what? What frame frames? What settings? What games? and How many games?
I personally consider cards like this as 1440p cards as you can easily get 60FPS in 98% of games made but a lot of people watching would kick the crap out of me for saying it lol
I recommend the RX 6800 or at least the RX 6700xt.

I’m still using a 5600xt and only 6gb of ram is kinda a bummer with newer games it still runs everything beautifully to me. Every time I look at upgrading it’s just so much money for not much more performance so I just can’t do it.

The 6000 series lineup was really solid. I don't know what happened with the 7000 series, but it felt a bit underwhelming. The RX 7800 and up were good value, but the lower you went down, the more it makes you want to stick to last gen. It's like they copied Nvidia's strategy on funneling the most performance increases on the top end and leaving out too little for too much on the lower tiers.
