      There was an excellent article by Jalopnik where they chat with engineers and go over the data from the test drives where the vehicle went into limp mode.
      If you read the reviews from the media that experienced issues (there were 2) it could boil down to user error. The CNET reviewer said she was driving the Bronco Sport "like a freaking idiot" just before she got the limp mode warning. So you have to ask yourself, how are you going to treat YOUR car?
      The Bronco Sport is a fancied up Escape, with beefed up clutch size, shorter final drive ratio and changes to the driveshaft. It wouldn't have anywhere near the same capabilities as the full size Bronco. I'd be curious what happens with drivers using it off-road when it's hotter outside but we won't know that for a few more months.

    I did a double take when you said "set it to 120 on the highway" but then realized you weren't talking about mph

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před 3 lety

      Haha great catch! 120 mph would probably be pushing it just a little bit

  • @justlivelovelaughfrugally

    Wait, that gas cap doesn’t lock?? That’s not good.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před 3 lety

      Hopefully the locking cap comes back in the 2022! Ford just re-introduced the locking gas cap in the 2021 F150

      @@CarsWithSteve Wow. That’s a safety issue for me. I really wanted this car. I guess I will have to wait until next year or purchase something to prevent someone from tampering with it. 🤦‍♀️

      @@justlivelovelaughfrugally Don't let one thing keep you away! There are a ton of aftermarket lockable gas caps or even a simple gas plug (like what you'd find on a motorcycle) that you could look at as an option!
      Some of them are less than $20 so you could probably even ask the selling dealer to throw one in for you

      It's pretty hard to tamper with the cap less system

      @@white_rook2060 Agreed.. it seems like Ford may be going back to a locking fuel door though. 2021 F150 and Explorer both have it which is great!

    Well . Other off road city suv from Ford.

      If only one car could appease everyone. I do think there was a strategy behind Ford releasing the Bronco Sport.. like you said off road city. So the Sport will appeal to the folks who live in the suburbs that enjoy weekend getaways while the full size Bronco appeals to the hard core off road enthusiast

      I have seen the bronco sports in difficult hill, rocks and big sand and 60 cm of water. It is more than an city suv...it would beat easily all the other car like rav4, crv, outback, hrv, santa fe, tucson, cx5, and would give a good fight to jeep cherokee, the badland edition (8,8 inches ground clearance, 26 inches water capable, more than 33 and 31 degree angle front and rear )is very capable off road car.

      @@CC-gt3ro Damn that's wild! I've seen some pretty great CZcams videos on it off roading and it does look incredible capable. All good compares there.. the thing I really like about the Bronco Sport is that it's so different than all the other crossovers out there like the ones you mentioned

    • @CC-gt3ro
      @CC-gt3ro Před 3 lety +1

      @@CarsWithSteve i agree. I have seen theford reliability tester bringing this incredible car between rocks that i really, really thought it was impossible to go through, but the bronco sport did it. This is really an impressive car. And now it is high on my list. This car do everything, city, snow, off road, practical, very bright idea like the cargo table and double layer, and without forget the bottle opener..the sound system is decent, the seat confortable, the power is great. Maybe they could make the rear seat retractable to gain more leg room, and work on gas consumption with the 2.0 turbo. If in the next revision they can improve these last two points, this car will become one of the best seller in usa and canada.

      @@CC-gt3ro Drop a link to the video you saw with that rock crawl, would be cool to check it out! I like the extra GOAT modes you get in the Badlands as well!
      I have noticed that Ford vehicles get more powerful or have slightly better fuel economy year over year. The Escape is a great example... The 2019 had a 1.5L 4 cylinder.. then Ford tweaked it to a 1.5L 3 cylinder with cylinder de-activation giving it even better performance without sacrificing performance. Pretty damn cool

      If the screen is blacking out just with navigation it sounds like there's an issue with the screen itself. Book yourself in for a service appt for your dealer to have a look
