I like timber, but for what I think united need, I think I like his team mate Mats Wieffer even more. He's a 6/8 with great passing, game reading, tempo and decent defending. These attributes in a number 6 could allow for getting even more out of the other mids who play along with him, like mainoo, mount, bruno etc. If we are going to potentially lose casemiro, Eriksen and/or McTominay, we are going to lose lots of defending, passing and physicality from the squad. This one player could help address that.
Manu Kone and kephrem thuram, are great shouts for united. They are both descent ball carriers ( especially kephrem thuram), and very good at beating the press( especially Manu Kone). Atlantis, pls upload a video on both players🙏

i totally agree most of our big money transfers never really worked out. we shouldn't be spending as much money on average players with big salary. hopefully Antony was Erik's last big money player. plus we have kobbie
I like Timber he seems like a good alternative to Joao neves and clearly ten hag likes good ball carrying midfielders however I would sign Joao neves if I was at United just because we have missed out on so many great talents like Enzo, Bellingham, rice, Caicedo, Camavinga, Tchouameni, etc who were all big midfield talents linked with united and yet we let them go rice for 100mil has been class for arsenal and I understand Joao neves could be underwhelming like Enzo because he needs better players around him or he might struggle to adapt to the prem being just 20lbs well and not being the most physical player however he is a generational talent and for 100mil or less it isnt bad business as in the summer we should have more funds if we sell some of Maguire, mctominay, Casemiro, Donny, Brandon Williams, wan bissaka, Antony, pellistri, Sancho and even let free up Varane wages plus ratcliffe will look to invest more money into the club so a player like Joao neves could be the heart of this rebuild alongside Kobbie mainoo in the midfield for ten hag

It would be better to have Timber because since they have someone with creative passing like Bruno Fernandez, he can bring the ball up for the attackers to finish or he finish himself, the only problem I see is that they would have to change the tactics for Timber to be a CAM and Bruno to be a CM

two more midfielders would be somewhat an excess. especially if they are to play anyway. maino and gore have shown to be good. maybe if some leave or get sold. centre back is where man utd would seek to add becuase they dont necesarily have youngsters coming up in that area but also their current centre backs are clocking 30 except martinez. so if they could add young lads with huge potential like arsenal did with saliba then they would be in good business. i would think addition of a midfielder would come if some are sold. because man utd has a ageing midfield too. the addition of mount has the likelihood to answer some midfield replacements but may not have the creative ingenuity like bruno and eriksen have. thus the addition of a mdifielder that is a potential creative monster but still young. alex scott who was last season's championship young player of the season would fit the bill however he was taken by bornemouth. a central midfielder who can play as an attacking midfileder but has excellent dribbling and technique but also very creative eye and mind
Manutd's main problem is ball retention and someone to orchestrate play from deep on an elite level like rodri. Someone with extremely assured touches and high football Iq like a carrick. and the best player for the job would be zubimendi. but Manutd can't sign him. Next best is Adam Wharton from Blackburn he is 19 and english. Would cost around 15m - 20 in January. Newcastle are interested

He is pure. His agility, technique and stamina are amazing! He is all over the place: to defend, and to finish.He is not tall, but has incredible shock capacity. He is low to the ground, and is quite hard to take the ball from. But perhaps his biggest strength is his personality. Advice : watch a Benfica full match and you will see.
First time I’ve ever disagreed with one of your videos. I think that he could come in to United and play 20-30 games. You got Gavi and Pedri playing so much and they keep getting better the more they play. Now for sure, we gotta take into account the physicality of the PL, but if the scouts deem Neves to be of high standard, then he take his game higher and should try to dethrone McTominay or whoever is in that current role
Meh there are many other options who are far superior to Timber including Onana though I think we shouldn’t miss out on Neves at all.

But I dont understand what you mean when you say that Timber isnt elite progresser. He has over 0.16 (progressive passes)/(total passes) which is absolutely Elite with an 82% pass accuracy. He just dosent attempt as many passes

As a Benfica fan, my advice would be: don't rush into trying to sign him and give Neves time to develop at Benfica.
Keep in mind that he's only 19 years old and this his is 1st season as pro. He would be committing the same mistakes of Sanches and Felix if he was transfered in the Summer.

Journalists are saying his release clause is €80m which is about 65m quid. I think United need an out and out destroyer with a good engine, Casemiro was brilliant last season but he's lost his engine. Mainoo is more of an 8 to me so we're lacking that player who can drop deep and win a ball back for us

@@AtlantisFootball Let me adjust mty remark. They could use a ball-carrying midfielder but they need a CDM who can distribute the ball and advance the ball via possession play. A ball-carrying midfielder would help, but a player like Neves can pull the strings in midfield with passing. It's so much more efficient and far less risky, particularly in front of this back line. I agree, but I don't think it is the immediate priority. Think of United's midfielders over the PL era. Very few ball-carry midfielders and more toughness and composure on the ball enabling strong decisions. In every successful United team there has been a defensively sound midfielder who can pass the ball and understand the importance of controlling pace and moving up the pitch with possession play.
Nah ball carrying ability is far more important for United’s CM. Players like Martinez, Dalot, Mount even Maguire have the passing ability from deep. That would help but ball carrying ability has to be the priority

But if you're relying on your backs (I'll exclude Mount because I don't know why you position him so deep) to sustain possession, then United will continue to pump longballs over the top to our forwards. Bruno is ineffective in possession play, so we lose our 9 as an outlet, so the ball either goes to our CF over the top or we have to bypass midfield to get the ball to the wingers. Someone in midfield has got to be able to receive a pass, turn, and distribute. And, do that repeatedly throughout the game. If we have to use a ball-carrying midfielder to get the ball to our forwards, then that player is out of position and our defence is vulnerable to counter-attack. I like your points, but I think its less of a priority than a strong defensive and possession-minded passer sitting deep in midfield.
