Dude your delivery has improved, you look more confident in front of the camera and you are talking abit slower than "normal" which sounds better. More of your personality is coming through. Before when you did your reviews it looked more of a "sales" pitch like bang bang, but now its more like you're talking to us on a personal level sharing you're experience which is what reviews should be. Anyways love all ya videos dude. Keep them coming!

I really enjoyed your more informal and offhand delivery in this episode. I also just received my own 9310 this week. My experience on battery life is consistent with what you say - that it's not so great on this model. That's disappointing, because my primary use case is on airline tray tables where battery life matters. I also prefer the stiffer hinges on prior models that required too hands to open the lid. Otherwise though, all good. No laptop is perfect, and I'm still very happy with the 9310. Oh, and the wider keyboard -- introduced in the 9300 -- is a joy to type on. The keyboard is a welcome improvement. This is my third XPS-13, btw. Nothing has yet swayed me away from this design. I like what Dell has been doing with it.

today I have return back a Dell XPS15 2020 because a deformation of the desk trakpad area and the well known trackpad weakness vibration issue, do you have the same issue in this new batch of product? If you test to pick it up from a right of left side of the desk left of right side to transport when you change from the chair to the sofa, for example, the chasis gets deformation and click the trakpad as you would have click on the trakpad.

I'd like to ask your take on whether I should get an i7-1165g7 laptop or an r7-4700u laptop for coding, light gaming (csgo), light video/photo editing(school projects). Also both laptops are similarly specced 16gb ram and 512gb ssd on intel and 1tb ssd on amd. Their biggest diference would be form factor as the intel model is a 16:10 14in clamshell laptop(with thunderbolt 4) while the amd is a 16:9 13.3in 2in1 with pen included in the box. I'm currently torn when choosing between the two since inour market they are priced exactly the same and since I'm still a freshmen, I'm not sure what features/spec sheet would benefit me in the long run for the next 4 to 5 years in college. I'd like your help please.
P.S. The name of the laptops (in case you might like to review them) are:
    Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i
    Lenovo Yoga 6
A simple opinion would do. Thank you.

Your best video yet, really love the way you are structuring these reviews and mention things other reviewers don't pick up on!
I ended up ordering one because of this review, but it's such a shame Dell's QC is still absolutely all over the place. I've had my 9310 for about 4 days now and straight out the box my trackpad was misaligned, the speakers don't work and both edges of my display have really noticeable backlight bleed (even during normal use). My trackpad is so misaligned that when I pick the laptop up, the trackpad will actually click itself! Really doesn't feel like a £1,400 laptop ☹
Would you consider reviewing the new Huawei Matebook 14? I had a Matebook 13 2020 AMD and it was a really interesting device, would love to see your opinions on the 14.

Thanks for the positive note. Wow re QC. Yeah I had some bad XPS laptops in my time. More so the 15 inch. Noted re the Matebook. I have a tone to review though so unsure ill get to it. But noted

Hi Josh, I'm a freshman college student majoring in engineering. I usually use Matlab, other coding environments and microsoft office apps. I want to purchase a laptop that will last 4 years at least. Do you think the XPS 9500 or XPS 13 9310 would be better? Budget is not a concern, but I think its nice how the 9310 allows you to get the FHD display with touch.

    Hello JustJosh,
    Thank you for the review...
    Now,
Can you please confirm or deny if you also facing such issues in the newer dell xps 13 9310 (11th Gen) too?
Because, the Older (10th gen) dell xps 13 9300 had many critical issues... Have seen a video of Dell xps 13 9300 (10th Gen) wherein it has a lot of issues like:
1.) Sleep mode NOT working infact the Dell xps 13 9300 gets heated up like a fryer inside the backpack even in sleep mode (refuses to sleep i guess).
2.) Then there is the Windows Hello Face and/or Windows Hello Fingerprint unlock refusing to detect/work while waking it from sleep (a restart is required to solve this problem).
3.) The battery drain issue as well on the xps 13 9300 model eating/ draining battery even in sleep mode.
Wirh all these issues for such a premium laptop brand like Dell, I wud go for the M1 Macbook Air 13" (my current is also a early 2k14 MBA 13") running on Catalina.
    Thanks in advance...

Love your content. I bought this and have been using it for 6 mos for work & personal. No gaming. I did not upgrade to windows 11. The battery length isn't great like you said but it has chg ports on both sides. I have had it go black 1x and freeze up several times esp when I had alot of windows open- I did get a base with a fan for the heat issue. It has resolved when I left it alone for several hours. Overall I like it, but not super impressed. It was refurbished & still paid about $850 for it...I think.

I can't afford the 9310 but over here in Australia, we have a 9305 available. It's essentially the old chassis (16:9) etc but with the Intel 11th gen CPU's. Having heard what Josh said about the 9300 and 9310, do folks think the 9305 would be an OK buy?

I can't wait for next Tiger Lake Laptop. Please review it soon

  • @PWingert1966
    @PWingert1966 Před 3 lety

One video I was watching about tiger lake suggested that because of options that the vendor can select regarding the performance and TDP choices there can be differences between individual machines under identical conditions due to long-term differences in how the individual owners operate their laptop and the workloads they use them for. The optimizations found tune each machine based on these parameters. So, it is no longer a case of Look at the specs and runs the benchmarks. Then declare the performance for all machines of that model. There won't be orders of magnitude difference but there will be a few percentage points between machines over time as the tuning functions adjust parameters to balance for dominant graphics use versus dominant CPU use as an example. This explains the differences you found in your testing.

Hi Josh, does the XPS 9310 get warm/hot during regular office work (Word, Excel), internet browsing or CZcams? How loud does it get during these use cases?

@@JustJoshTech I saw your video on Lenovo Slim 7 Pro. I know it can be hard to remember but which one do you think is less warm during normal use? My main use of a laptop is actually on my lap doing tutorials and coding. I love your videos as your are the only one talking about coding.
