This is seriously the most elegant solution. Well done asetek. 👏
Actually surprised by how good the price is and also the customization! My wallet is pretty nervous right now haha
Looks a cool idea, I like it. The point about the buttons are always in the same place with different rims is the real trick to this idea.
This is also the most chilled I've seen you playing iRacing Rene! ;)
This is a great idea and awesome selling point. I'm in the market to upgrade from Logitech to a full fledge dd system. Asetek was one I have been looking at. This just just gives me a reason to consider Asetek over the others
very informative, good to know what the differences are and if the price point differences are worth it.
I will be grabbing a D shaped rim, the orange one as I like the splash of color, along with a La Prima button box. I will also be getting those LMP style grip kits for the formula rims due Q1 2024 👍
Looks very interesting
Also as far as your eco system question goes, I'm a Fanatec guy because I play PS5 as well as PC. I could maybe move away one day, but I've always been happy with the Fanatec kit and there's been not much that compares if you like to play Gran Turismo.
much better idea then buying a new wheel!!
Console support?
Shame their website doesn't work
The store is unavailable now.
BRUH.
it never works
It seems the link they gave us is struggling right now 😢 but we asked for a fix
What are the sizes of those rims? They look all a bit too huge for my taste and I prefer 300 mm or a little smaller even.
330
Yeah they are a bit bigger then that, but they felt good when using and personally I liked the size as it is the same D-shape size as my real world one. - Rene
@@OverTake_gg But what's the point of offering so many wheel-rims if they are all too big for probably most people? And don't forget that more size decrease FFB-strength and dynamics. The difference between 300 vs 330 mm is quite huge.
@@Leynad778 I'm thinking/hoping Asetek will offer other rims and sizes going forward. I will certainly request this on their discord.
@@Leynad778 I don´t perceive them as too big, the other way around, I got the issue with 300 looking too small and not "real" but that is very subjective. But I could also see Asetek offering other options, because why not, probably makes sense so we can all have what we need for our rigs - Rene
i think this is pretty useless. who is going to unmount everything to change the rim between games. if theres was a quick release system ok, but not this way. you'll end up with another wheel anyway.
welcome to every button box ever
I think it will be less about changing it every time (as indeed, it is not as fast as some sort of quick release). But it allows you to have a cheap way to different rim styles and adjusting them if needed (I personally only use round shaped for roadcars or rally cars and thats the least amount of my driving, so it is cool to have it around but I don´t have to swap it on too often). But thats also down to personal preference. - Rene
I know, it's terrible to have options, right?
Not everything needs to be a 10 second swap. How often do you go from say GT3 or GT2 to rally and right back?
I don't , I tend to atleast spend an evening minimum just playing 1 type of game, if not a couple of days or weeks even.
Spending a few minutes switching the rim is a valid option then.
And if not, then don't, at 400 and 500 euro this is excellent value for a buttonbox with this many inputs even ignoring the swappable steeringwheel, thats the beauty of it being optional.
agreed - who wants to get an allen key out all the time
