- It's time for me to tackle one of the fandom's most popular theories for Steven Universe Future! Steven's possible corruption! There's plenty of evidence to suggest that it might happen, but how exactly should it play out in my eyes? Well check out two possibilities from me and tell me in the comments which you think is more likely!

Unlike Gems, who only their mind is painfully corrupted, and their physical form are made of light, if he ends up corrupted, he will also go through with bones snapping, organs switching places and maybe even growing limbs and appendages they’re not supposed to be there.

If and when Steven gets corrupted; I imagine that, in order for him to return to normal, he'll go on a sort of inner journey. I'm thinking something similar to what Samurai Jack did in Season 5, when he met that old monk.
Should that happen, Steven's own "spirit guide" (if you will) may tell Steven the same lesson Jack learned. He has all the "ingredients" to become a great being. But he lacks the single most important one...balance.
From his stress levels, his desperate desire to be perfect or better than his mom, him trying to outright FORGET her, his sudden vegetarianism and him shunning all the stuff that once made him happy for little reason (Steven Tag, Cheeseburger Backpack, Together Breakfast etc;) it's become painfully obvious that Steven is totally out of balance.
He's letting his darker traits get the better of him and refusing to let others help him. If he's not careful, he'll become consumed by his inner demons (both figuratively AND literally.) Let's just hope Steven learns the truth, like Jack did before it's too late

ok but what if:
Steven tells the gem he needs to spend some time away from everyone. The rest of the episode is just the crystal gems and decorupted gems shenanigans, maybe a few humans too. But towards the end, a scream comes from jasper's neck of the woods. They choses to check it out, but they can't seem to find jasper. Then another scream, and a shadow falls over them, they look up, and see a corrupted gem. End of episode.
Next episode starts with the gems fighting the corrupted gem, till japser tackles them to the ground and and drags them back toward beach city. Pearl probably screaming " We need to find Steven!" Only to be responded with "THAT IS STEVEN!" From jasper....

Well he could die because when a gem goes corrupted spikes go through their body and Steven has human flesh and when something rips through human skin it causes blood to evacuate and humans need blood to live. So if goes back to normal Steven he might pass out and then maybe die. And that’s maybe what the hospital scene is. But he wouldn’t be in a chair? Hmmmm

I think it's going to be more like shapeshifting (which he's always had trouble with). All that anxiety and stress and anger inside of him is going to come out and he won't be able to stop it.

One comment about the shield thing
Rose/Pink's shield literally only covered her, Pearl, and Garnet, and that's why those three were perfectly fine, Pink's shield had nothing to do with the beam corrupting the others rather than shattering them
My guess for why they were corrupted is by them not having Pink with them
The Diamonds each represent a different thing, and this is sort of shown by their powers, their personalities, and what happened when Yellow and Blue tried to heal Nephrite/Centi
Yellow healed her body and Blue healed her emotions/soul but for it to be permanent and to be fully fixed, they needed White to heal her mind, and when Steven healed her in a previous episode, he was able to bring back her heart, her love for everyone she cares about, and she didn't care about herself or how she was feeling, and her body and mind were still broken
Their minds, bodies, and souls were all broken by the beam from the Diamonds, but they were still alive, but if Pink broke their hearts, there'd be nothing left, and the gem would be destroyed

well humans cant corrupt as far as we know so the gem could leave him leaving him weak and hurt seing himself turn into a monster meanwhile the gems coming to comfort him and while they are the monster fully forms he sees them and starts attacking so they try and run as far as they can and try and let steven heal from what happend

Steven can do a lot of things normal humans can't do. Hell, the cat-steven incident was practically corruption, just without the psychological component (and Steven's cognition is partially done on his gem hardware, so he could certainly be psychologically affected by corruption too even if his mind WEREN'T already in the vulnerable state it's in).

Everyone thinking how when they should think could. What I mean is Steven is half human, meaning many things. A: He can fuse with any human. B: Instead of poofing he goes into that weird gem-mund scape. Also something else, Diamonds cause corruption because of the Diamond blast. So, could a Diamond even corrupt. Lastly Pink Diamond, to me at least, is the most powerful. Rose blocked all three of the Diamonds diamond blast. SuperPink Steven, last episode of original series, blocked White (the fortold strongest Diamond) and her possession blast. Also Rose and Steven both brought a creature back to life. So, could the most powerful Diamond in my eyes corrupt?
Also side note, White doesn't seem like the strongest Diamond. First of she just uses others to do things like Blue, Yellow, and everyone controlled in a white state by White. Also secoundly, let's look at the Diamond Power Ranger robot. On one of the last episodes Blue, Yellow, and Steven used their own part to hold Whites robot part. Showing that White doesn't have that much power without the control of others.

I like the jasper route but what if it was emotional corruption.hear me out we know that if gems get too emotional than they poof so sense Stevens powers are emotion based that’s how he got corrupted. Like you said when he asks jasper to fight without holding back and she rants he starts to corrupt. And how fast would it be slow or based on how he felt?pls do more about the jasper one.and what about the leak?
Perhaps Steven corrupts himself over one more life breaking change around him, for what we are currently seeing in the series is Steven not properly speaking about his clear and obvious problems of being needed and having others change because of him, but not without him. Little Graduation is a good example of this, cause in all honesty he couldn't fathom the thought of his friends leaving and changing their lives so drastically, the fact he wasn't there for any of it made it hurt more. So in my personal opinion, I think Steven will try to get rid of the pink anger within him by inlisting the aid of White Diamond, perhaps wanting her to take his pink glow which causes the pink hue that she has and can't control in the Opening. After seeing that White Diamond can't handle his power, Steven takes it back and decides he needs to work things out on his own, which is a bad move. He would then go to Connie because she's the only one who Steven would trust his deepest feelings with, and to his relief- it would work out! They catch up with one another and it would be great, but then Connie would bring some news that changes their relationship drastically. She would either say something like, "Hey, Steven, it's been a long time since I've had fun like this, you've been such a great part of my life and I will always appreciate it! But, all of this just strengthens my thoughts, Steven, I think we should just stay Best Friends." Something of that nature would send him over the edge.

I know how he will get corrupted, he hurts his dad and pushes away his friends while they're shouting at him, telling him to control his powers but he loses control and becomes corrupted by them...
“Letting someone spread their wings doesn’t mean you no longer have a place in their live“ is something Steven might take away from(I’m a brony so I’m like waiting for either The crystal gems to go to Equestria and meet the mane 6 from MyLittlePony and have a magical adventure w Steven writing letters to Princess Twilight and the council of friendship(spoilers)or Steven keeping a diary of his own to write down his feelings to(that’s another prediction for what comes next)

The way you set up your first theory is so well thought out damn. It's really far fetched in theory. But you laid it out so practically that you can't help but believe in its plausibility.
Okay, I was really skeptical about both of these until you started explaining them. Now, it seems more likely than ever. I like both theories, though I think I prefer the Jasper one lol. It would give Jasper some much-needed closure for her character.
If there’s a way to combine both theories? Epic. Bring it on, because these both sound so good like yikes-

If PD was there in the corruption, it woulf be obliteration resulting in millions of gems being shattered. And the show would have a post-apocalyptic storyline and gems would clean gems shards rather than fight monsters. :

Heres how i think it'll go down.
Steven will corrupt because of his strong emotions. We already learned that Gems poof when under high amounts of stress or sadness. Its how Spinel poofed to get her current form we saw in the movie. Steven right now is going through high amounts of stress himself. However, he cannot poof, due to being half human. His gem half will still undergo some type of impact, because its a gem and thats how they work. Recently, on twitter we heard a leak from a new episode where the gems confront him about his Pink form. Basically, The gems try to get Steven to speak his mind, because they are concerned about his pink outbursts. He proceeds to yell at them saying they arent outbursts, and say hes going to his room. The gems stop him, but he tells them to get out of his way so they wont be hurt. I think he then pulls out a weapon? Im not sure. But anyway, this may be the corruption moment. Out of his anger and bottled up emotions, he corrupts and destroys the house. He no longer can control himself, then he probably goes on to be uncorrupted after the next few episodes or something. Thats my take on what might happen

I don't think the Diamonds themselves can corrupt gems, cause if they did. They wouldn't need each other to do it. So here what's I think what would happen, if every Diamond use their power at full force:
Yellow's power would distort the gem form, similar to how her powers can poof a gem with ease
Blue's powers can change the emotional state of a gem to a mental breakdown, similar to how she can make other gems feel her emotions
White's power and contribution to the blast is kinda unknown, but here is what I think. Her power was make the other two stronger and permanently corrupt, doing what she want.
Pink's/ Steven power is to heal, but what if it did the opposite, destroy. Pink's contribution to the gem blast possibly would be to shatter every gem leaving only remains of once gem soldiers.
Most of this comes from the fact that in from "Legs to here to Homeworld". Steven, Yellow and Blue used there powers at once on Nephrite to bring her back. Yellow changes her back to her original from, but her mind was still corrupted. So Blue used her power to bring her back, but she kept repeating everything. So Steven healed the broken remains of her mind. Without White nothing is permanent.
And that's my theory on how corruption from the diamonds works

Revisiting after the show’s been over! ...for a few months. These are all really good ideas, and I still kinda wish the one with Jasper happened. But you weren’t that far off! He went to BOTH the Diamonds and Jasper! He and Jasper DID fight, and he wanted to go all-out! He and White had a confrontation!

What if he's not corrupted at all? What if Steven attempted to fuse with all his friends and made a monster with unwanted fusions and pink power, no corruption needed. Just an unhealthy way of staying with his friends

This just proves how far the fandom likes to reach for theories. The worm creature might not even be related to steven AT ALL but everyone is latching onto this creature as if its FACT that steven's going to be corrupted/turn evil/etc. And turn into whatever that is.
I really like the Jasper theory. It would allow her character to grow and possibly become a good guy. Seeing her interact with characters like Amethyst, Lapis/Peridot, and Garnet would be really cool after her redemption.
I think the second one may be more likely cause thus far we havent seen the diamonds or spinel and they did say that the events of the movie were gonna be important in future and that includes spinel. She's even in the intro so she must have some significance. She also knows bad things pink did and seems ok to talk about them as she did in drift away so maybe she might have a say about things as well. She has kinda gone back to being abandoned by pink along with the diamonds but seeing as she managed to change despite her trauma I think she could help steven with his.

When you mentioned the gems pressuring steven into talking to them, all i can think about is the (not so recent) leaked audio...um..
The way I see it happening is Stevens gen gets a mind of its own, and the gem comes off of his body and turns into corrupted Pink Steven and the gems are trying everything to keep him alive.

Heres a theorie... Steven dosn´t turn in to the worm monster but his emotions do. he reminds himself of pink diamond and loses control and like a Chestburster the worm appears and with every bad memory it grows

i have a theory: when steven will get really mad, he will split, and his gem half will corrupt, while his human half will be left really weak, like in change your mind. when the gems will try to fight off corrupted gem steven, then the corrupted gem steven will see weak normal half steven, he will be sad, return back to normal, and fuse back with steven
