I think the Carmilla was able to kill an angel because she was protecting someone. As the angels are becoming evil over time, they are leaving themselves vulnerable to a force of good that can harm them. That can be an incentive for more demons to become good. But they will have to truly be good in order to take out angels with bad intentions.

My canon is that since only Eve ate the apple of "the knowledge of good and evil," only Eve and humans know the difference between good and evil. The angels literally believe they're perfect because they don't even know what evil is. That's why Adam said he never did anything wrong, the exorcist said angels are never wrong, and why the cherubs in Helluva boss were such assholes.
Edit: I was half right. In episode 6, none of the angels know what gets someone into heaven. And they also seemed pretty clueless when Charlie asked them what makes someone in hell different from someone in heaven. Only Adam responded to her, and even then he just listed blatantly obvious stuff like no stealing. It seems like they are clueless to why everything happens the way it does, and don't care enough to stop it.

Her mother has been out of touch for seven years still going, and her dad only just talked to her to cover going to an unwanted meeting for him.
Plus, everyone keeps poking at Charlie's daddy issues. This show is as much about her growth as it is anyone's. She might have to face some shattering truths that her parents (mother most likely) can't cover up with a story book.

LEt us make a guses that Eve and Lilith and probably identical twins. Adam would want his new wife to look just like the old one. And so she was made that, but more submissive. Vulnerable to his imamature behavior.
The motivation for giving eve the fruit was to give her the will to fight back against these abuses.
LEt us fast forward, likely both litlih and eve alike fell to hell. People ahve thought' would eve be angry' but why would she be? Tbhey gave her freedom! So let us presume they had a good relationship. Though they both schemed and plotted.
Then the exterminations began. And they grew all the more furious at how things were goign. Buut let us presume this. AT some point, Heaven promised something, in exchange for Eve to return to heaven, return to Adam. MAybe related to Carhlie's existence.
But as they were identical and adam and heaven are unlikel to notice, Lilith took eve's place to protect her. While Eve ended up staying in hell, taking lilith's identity and raising charlie. But..... an evil is in her, a hatred, and she had plans and schemes, made all the worse from losing her sister to heaven .
This would explain why there are suspiciously 2 painting depicting a very similar scene in lucifers mancave/craftshop. Both showing charlie, lilith, and him in a happy moment. Only two though.... Only two.
and if you notice, there are differences between two depictions of lilith.

I think it would be such a waste of a potentially very interesting character if she just died in the first extermination. I also don’t think Adam is like that, he liked to see the people he hates suffer.
Look at Charlie, he hates her and just taunts her when he could just kill her. It’s only when Charlie is an actual threat he tries to kill her. And I would argue he’d never actually see Eve as a threat so long as she’s in Hell. Charlie is the first one that makes him think these people could actually be a threat to him.

Doesn't the bible say women suffer pain during childbirth because of Eve making Adam eat the fruit? So in Hazbin, there may be a chance that the angels saw it all as HER fault and Adam as innocent. The main issue I have with this theory is that it heavily assumes that the backstory provided by Charlie is 100% accurate. The thing is, Charlie is an unreliable narrator, especially this early into the series. She never actually experienced any of those events, and any knowledge she does have would likely come from her father and mother. It’s entirely possible that the backstory provided by Charlie was told in way to make Lucifer and Lilith seem more righteous and innocent than they actually are. Paradise Lost, which seems to be the main influence for Lucifer in Hazbin Hotel, depicts Lucifer as lying, manipulative, and deceitful especially towards his own followers. It’s entirely possible that Lucifer is hiding something to make himself seem more like a victim.

I think Adam is very underrated character. Vivienne Medrano and other animators wrote on Twitter that he is one of their favorite characters, he was a blast to write, he was blast to watch. Some people says that Adam similar to chaz, that's not true. Unlike chaz, Adam has much more personality, and i love him. In the beginning he is just pranking charlie, and it's just pranks, not even a sex jokes. He talked about his d in one second moment, first it's just a pranks, third, he talked about his unlucky date, after that he explains to charlie about his black and white views. And he didn't tempted, seduced or lured to anyone in this episode at all unlike Chaz. Adam likes rock, he is talented singer, his song is amazing, he has an issue of anequal communication with women(make sence), his favorite food is ribs (funny reference if you remember what his second wife is made of), he is overall charismatic douchebag, and i love him for that. Adam definitely seems to have more going on then just being a strawman dudebro, and my thought is that he probably uses times like these when he's (sort of) out of Heaven to 'cut loose' and act like a total dick(master) since he probably can't actually do that up in Heaven itself. Plus he's dealing with a demon (Charlie) so why the hell should he care if he offends her? Guy's laughing his ass off watching Charlie honestly push the idea of redemption for demons because he knows her plan has no chance because overpopulation in Hell was never actually the issue. So why not just have fun with the bleeding-heart?
But end of episode 1 does reveal that he seems to be much more canny and willing to actually think things through and strategize unlike his second Lute who wanted to just rush down to Hell and slaughter everyone, but he rightfully points out that doing it that quick would tip the demons off that Heaven was actually freaked out by the incident, so instead he makes a big grand display and plays the part of "Oh man I just love killing demons so much I can't wait a whole year so gonna be back in half time!"

Keep in mind that Viv has stated there were 5 seasons planned. So her arc for Charlie is not going to be ended within a season. I suspect she is going to ping pong the antagonist each season. She will be forced to change goals this season from salvation to defending. She will have to fight back the angels and create a safe place for sinners to heal. The healing aspect seems to be a theme in Viv's work. And she has a keen eye for what gives rise to people's destructive behaviour. So once she has the angels held for for the time being she will turn her gaze to what is causing Hell to be so toxic. And it stems from daddy. Lucifer and how he set the whole circus up pits everyone against each other. Giving no one time or place to heal. So she has to contend with daddy. Whether she can restore his spark of life or has to topple him (I suspect restoration for him) remains to be seen. But then after that conflict is resolved she can turn her gaze to reforming heaven and finding god.

We saw that Adam was playing Charlie a bit, he was pissed about the loss of one of his angels. He didn't want to show his hand, maybe the whole reason he agreed to the meeting was to fish for information, at that point he didn't know for sure if the missing angel was dead, or at least lacked the body to confirm it, he also didn't know how the angel died or by whom.
    Charlie "Those are my people"
Adam, "Must suck for you", was he just being ass there, or was he avoiding saying what he really felt?
My theory is he was fishing, that was the whole point. But then again Vizziepop almost had smart or interesting villains in Helluva Boss and teases more complexity and then simply falls flat on it. I hope a little more care was put into Hazbin in terms of character motivations not being so one dimensional. That's the whole problem here is the creator has failed to do complexity before and just opts for instant resolutions.

  • @rueenglish9328

Ooh, glad someone else thought Adam might not have eaten the fruit!
One idea I had about the Tree of Knowledge is that it was always supposed to be there, Eve and Adam were going to eat it eventually to prepare for outside threats. So when Lucifer gave one apple to Eve, he didn’t think anything of it. The Original Sin was either that she ate it too early, or it was something else entirely (side-eyes Adam), OR it never existed, it was a lie because evil was there from the start!
Anyway, Eve tries to get Adam to eat the Forbidden Fruit. He refuses because he knows it was Lucifer who gave it to her; maybe he saw their exchange through the bushes, maybe another angel told him that Lucifer made the tree. Either way, he refuses, because he HATES Lucifer. At this point, Adam is basically an ignorant child who thinks he’s owed the world, but more than ignorant he’s AFRAID. Of evil, of the dark, most of all of loneliness. And it’s so easy to blame Lucifer. Lilith leaves him? Lucifer stole her away. Eve tries to have some time for herself? Lucifer lured her away. Eve comes back with a sus apple? It’s Lucifer’s ploy, Lucifer’s trying to take everything away from him and ruin his life! All of Eve’s pleadings fall on deaf ears, and Adam remains ignorant of everyone beyond himself for the rest of his life.
Which brings us to present day. The gang gets ahold of one of the original Fruits of Knowledge, somehow, and determines that their win condition is getting Adam to eat it. But how?
Well, if you look at the trading cards we can see Adam drinking a soda cup. His attitude is that of a stereotypical college frat boy-what if he’s defeated through college frat means? Yeah that’s fuckin right, the gang purées the Fruit and ROOFIES Adam’s drink. And then he fuckin dies (of the crushing, overwhelming weight of all the wrongs he’s done for millennia)
Or… maybe not? The idea character arc for him, to me, would be him dealing with this newfound knowledge and apologizing to Eve. If the theory that Eve became the Root of all Evil is true ALONG with everything above, then it would mean she was corrupted entirely by the selfishness of other people. Adam realizes this. He’s crushed by the guilt, by the memories of how selflessly Eve loved him and their children. And now she’s like this. He’ll do anything to bring her back.

    My fan theory:
Adam has been planning to instigate a war between Heaven and hell for a long time. The first hints we got were during Helluva Boss. One thing all the characters remarked on was how Striker was able to acquire advanced Angel weapons. That’s because Adam authorized them to be provided. Even though Stella hired Striker to kill Stolas out of jealousy, this was more of a convenience for Adam. His true goal was for a demon prince to be killed by an Angel weapon, thus spurring hell into retaliating. Once they retaliate, the Angels would have a clear justification to exterminate the populace of hell on the grounds of self-defense.

If they do bring God into the story, I really hope they don't go the stereotypical "subversion" route and just make God the ironic Ultimate Evil. I'd rather God be much more in line with the Deist idea of the Divine Watchmaker... God basically forged creation and the angels, and once everything was up and running he went off to do other things, convinced that his creation would run itself. If God does come back and sees what's happened, I would much rather it be him showing up, looking around, then looking at the angels and gently but firmly asking "So... what ya been doin kids? I was only gone for a few millennia and you've done _this_ ?"
Another idea I had would have God actually go to Hell, disguised as a lowly sinner who opts to join Charlie's hotel. He then proceeds to very subtly and gently keep Charlie on the path she's on, maybe giving her some lowkey encouragement when it seems like she's loosing her spark. He specifically never solves any of her problems, because in the end it's important for his creation to solve it's own issues, but there's nothing wrong with the Watchmaker occasionally giving his creation a quick tuneup is there?

Your point about Adam made me think of 2 possible things, 1 of which was possibly hinted at in the recent episodes too.
    1. When Adam says he "hasn't made a mistake in his life", he may have solely meant "while he was alive" meaning he's made many mistakes since being dead - and Charlie seems to be suggesting this too in saying that if souls in hell can't be redeemed then souls in heaven must be getting away with whatever they want even if it's a sin.
Or 2, and this is one I think could be more likely: The whole key is perception. As you've touched on in the video, it's possible Adam genuinely believes he's never made a single mistake. Maybe the reason Adam hasn't fallen is because he just genuinely believes he deserves to be in heaven. It would explain Lucifer, who looks like a demon rather than just being an angel in hell - if he believes that things going wrong was his fault and that he deserves to be in hell since the other angels told him that, that may have changed him. It would also explain why Angel Dust hasn't been able to go to heaven despite all the improvement - because the "conditions to get into heaven" they're struggling to work out primarily include that the person themself needs to genuinely believe they deserve to go to/be in heaven, which with Angel Dust's backstory as we know it is something he would have difficulty believing even if told.

The way I see the story at the beginning of the show is that it seems one sided, like whoever made it was hiding something. A few shows do this, where they tell you one story and later on near the end of a season usually it tells you a different version of the story. The way I think is going to work is that the angles have their own version of what happened, and it’s going to be up to the main characters to find the truth in both versions.

I'm a (filthy) casual watcher of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, so I don't know every aspect of the lore or what info has been revealed via Vivsie or other sources. With that said, did anyone else notice that the depiction of Eve in Charlie's retelling....has wide, long hair? A feature that looks similar to one of the main characters?
With your theory that Eve is in Hell, could it be possible that Vaggie is her in demon form? I don't know a thing about the character, but a few things shown in the pilot and the first four episodes (haven't seen episode 5 yet) could suggest she is. She doesn't trust anyone besides Charlie, someone you theorize is just like her grandfather, God and her demon form could be her hurt manifesting into what she is now.

It makes sense that the excorcist's love to kill the demons. It's kinda like if you're happy that something bad is happening to someone you hate. Well maybe not terrible things, just bad things.
