have mine....it's been over 8 years now....NO Problems with this gun. 45 long colt accurate. PDX Defense 410 shells awesome. I showed up at a skeet shoot. Had Brother In-laws and my Father In Law. They all shot skeet pigeons. Two clays pigeons a throw. When it was my time to shoot they handed me the long gun shot gun...I said no thanks I'll use my gun. Pulled my "Judge" off the hip.
They had not seen it yet.. They all made some sort of similar comment about "You think you can shoot skeet with a revolver". All I said was "PULL". Skeet flew. Bang Bang, went two 410 buck shot rounds. Hit both pigeons . The crowd of In-Laws all said in unison "DAYYYYMMMN". I'll never forget the look on their faces.
"DAYYYmmn, That's the way I looked when I first saw it at Cabela's, especially when the sales clerk let me hold Da Gun!!

Appreciate your comments. You go with your bad self. Smiley faces up sir!

@@robertdahle7216 I've shot a judge a lot and I concur with your statement.
Badass
65 year old woman...LOVE my Judge!
Give em hell Granny💪
This was the first gun I ever bought for myself, thanks to the recommendation of my dad; I love shooting it!
Taurus has come an extremely long way. Very awesome company.
but not in brazil
I hope so I have a PT 145 that the polymer frame cracked once sent it back they fixed it but it cracked again still shoots good but it’s not a primary carry gun. But back in the day when I brought it it was maybe 4 bills compared to a Glock 36 at over 6 I got the Taurus I think their revolvers might be better, at least I hope so because I bought a ploy 605 and the judge and haven’t got to the range yet......although I think the poly fit and finish could’ve been better but if that was the case they would add it to the price so you’ve got to trade for the other 300 bucks or 700 for a comparable model and as long as the Taurus goes boom whenever I pull the trigger it’s all good.
They are making great revolvers in Brazil for at least 70 years , Rossi was there first , semi auto sucks !
One of the gun guys says 410 cartridges aren't a good self defense round.
@@calvindean9460 Yeah I heard he was hit by 2 of those, one to the chest and one to the face. He brushed both of them right off and they didn't even leave scars.
I've owned the polymer Judge for almost 8 years... carry it in my truck. Alternate rounds so I can handle a carjack or animal issue. LOVE this firearm... no recoil... even daughter loves it. Very stealthy and well matched... never a misfire!! My fav: colt & slug alternates. My Mossberg shockwaves are the only thing that come close (and I have AR15s, AKs and UZIs). I've given these as gifts to the women I love...
I've had my Judge for 4 years, it is an awesome hand canon
Can it shoot .45 pistol rds Too?
Not just 45 long?
@@samaelmartinus3273 sorry no
I am a proud owner of a Taurus Judge. The fact that it can, with the right adaptors, shoot 45LC, 45ACP, 9mm, 380 ACP, 410 GA, and 22LR reliably make it one of, if not the most versatile firearms I have ever handled. That is coming from soneone who served in the US military from 2005 to 2013, started in Security Forces and cross-trained to Special Operations Weather Team (Special Recon) and having handled a hell of a lot of different firearms for various different purposes.
Tell me more about shooting 9mm out it???
Same!!!
Yeah it's only 45 colt and 410 Mrs recon don't know what he's talking about. You want 45 acp get the file out and don't use any 45 acp loads over 21000 psi cause 45 colt only 14000
I am an actual judge and carry everyday, love my Taurus judge goes bang and pow every single time I shoot targets.
I won’t judge you?
My late father in-law left me this handgun with the long barrel and I LOVE IT! I'm a 65 year old disabled woman. Laugh all you want, my daddy taught me as a child; if you have to shoot to protect, make sure you shoot to kill. I do believe The Judge will get the job done if ever needed. (but, I pray it's never needed for that)
I got the long barrel also I love it
Nonny Brooks As Tennessee Ernie Ford once said, bless your pea picking heart.

Got a Taurus G2/9mm
Mean Little Shooter.
I'm 62 and made 3rd in Range Scoring
I do want The JUDGE

I'm a S&₩ .38 Wheel gunner and Taurus SemiAutomatic 9mm owner and big fan of Both.
DO NOT EVER say you were shooting to kill. You were only trying to STOP the thug because you were in fear for your life. Then keep your mouth shut & tell them you will cooperate fully AFTER YOUR LAWYER GETS THERE. This will keep you out of jail. Otherwise that statement will get you into serious trouble in our crazy court system.
@@dennischarles8976 that's not true
I came across this video. I own the Taurus judge public defender. The ranchers in my area use it as a snake gun and small rodent gun. I did something that no one in my area has ever done. I used it to qualify for my concealed handgun permit using it. I passed with a 100% on my shooting test. It does a great job. Dealers can't keep it in stock here.
I’ve had my 3 inch barrel for about 12 years. Never any problems. I’ve tested the OOO buck at 8 yards on a metal door. The spread was vertical about 6-7 inches and each buckshot TORE THROUGH the metal door. It was awesomely effective. The accuracy is good with the .45 colt. I keep it in a 10 inch square at 50 yards. Great woods carry sidearm. In grizzly country I carry the 300 grain bear rounds. Oh, my model is the 2 1/2 inch cylinder.
I luv my JUDGE..2.5 in. chamber.stays cozy w/ Federal Premium 000 buck..4 pellets..tight pattern @10yrds...#8shot 4 cottonmouths @5ft headshot.covers a paperplate! from the swamps of S Louisiana
Here Come The Judge! Purchased The Judge 3" Stainless for Home Protection. I have my 12ga. Shotgun, using buck shot, but wanted a portable weapon. Love my Judge.
I've had one for a few years.not a carry gun but a great snake gun..One of my dogs is still alive thanks to the Judge..
Exactly what I use mine for. We live in an area with a lot of rattlesnakes. So, when I take my dog for a walk I'll carry it with three 45's and two #8 410's.
@@OlyArmsAR15 with the #8 up front? Unless the rattlesnakes have two legs!
I believe I would kill the snake 8f we were face to face.so there.
This is one heck of a gun. Like a hand held cannon. A beautiful piece of portable artillery indeed. Especially when loaded with those baby shotgun shells. I have not enjoyed a pistol more than this one - did a lot of target practice with this on various ranges in the US. Seriously this is the best. “The Judge”.
Took mine to the range for the first time this week. Most definitely a hand cannon. Love it for home defense.
I have one of the first ones ever made. It's a special edition polished stainless steel with a 4" barrel and 2 1/2" cylinder. It's very accurate and a great gun to shoot. I love mine.
Do they make that anymore
Funny how S&W fans thought the Judge was stupid but now that they have a copy cat model they all of a sudden think it is not a bad idea.
@M4RIN31 How is being shot by 4 pellets of buckshot worthless?
@M4RIN31 Agreed but within 30 feet for home defense, it would be a great nightstand weapon.
since 98% of gun fights are resolved in 5 rounds or less(both sides) this is typically a moot point.
pot meet kettle... if MY point is moot, doesnt that, by default make YOURS moot as well???? @M4RIN31
@M4RIN31 you are straight up arguing for pistols with larger magazines, then telling me, if im carrying a firearm at all, my argument doesnt matter...
A great pistol, most gunfights are at 21 feet or 7 yards, The Judge is still lethal to 10 yards with buckshot.
great gun for up close and dangerous.
a 4.10 shotugn that fits in pocket. i like it so much i bought 2 of them and so glad it did that. when you fire it everyone stops talking around you
Can I shoot a 2 1/2 inch shell out of the 3 inch
Have a Judge in 6.5" barrel and it is a "blast" to shoot! The PDX Deffender loads are pretty hot, but handles all the ammo very well! No regrets in this purchase!
I want a Raging Judge that also shoots the .454 Casull round. It's cartoonishly huge, but a pretty cool piece nonetheless.
I had the same problem ejecting the old 4/10 shotgun shells out. They were so stuck in there, the whole cylinder came apart when I hit the ejector against my truck bed. Glad Taurus has a lifetime warranty!
The cylinder is longer than the barrel - Makes me smile
one of the best purchases i ever made. i always have it in my pickup
I have one for years. and I love it! I carry it in the boat when I am running trout lines at night.
I loved watching this review on the Judge . I just purchased one last year and really like it .
I own 4 variants of the judge and love them all. You can’t go wrong with a judge. If you need more than 5 rounds to take care of an intruder, you won’t do it with 15. All you need it one well placed round from a judge to do the job.
My Judge lives in a strategic location in my desk. Love that thing.
*WARNING* Not all factory 45LC loads can be fired in the Judge! I nearly blew mine up shooting hot 330 grain HSM bear loads in it! I called Taurus they said don’t shoot any of the heavy hot big game loads in it.
Warning don't use your own reloads is what this guy meant. I've got around 400 rounds big bore threw mine not one issue. Learn your pressures
FINE field report, as usual, Sootch !
Thank you.
Now, there is the Lehigh maximum expansion round for the Judge, Governor, and the bigger. 45s such as the .460 S+W magnum.
Devastating round, had to use it on someone attacking me recently.
I have no real interest in one of these revolvers, yet I sat through the entire review and found it very enjoyable. That says something about your reviews. Thank you!
Great video. You solidified my decision to get The magnum Judge in stainless with the 3 inch cylinder. I also appreciated the ammo tips. This video was just what I was looking for. Well done!!!
Sootch00,
I appreciate your review.
The interweb is filled with "couch commandos" Who fancy themselves weapons experts.
You always produce a reasonable review with a sensible amount of entertainment.
God bless you sir,

I got my wife one for Christmas. She loves it. I found a wood grip and it’s so much more comfortable
Raging Judge, with the caliber sleeves! SHTF multi purpose weapon, so even if you run out of .45 you can still use it with other size rounds!
The Survivalist so your saying u can use 357 rounds or 38
Randall Banks Yes! Just as long as you buy the chamber sleeve for it! It can fire shotgun shells down to .22LR.
Great review Don. I really enjoy and look forward to watching your videos. Keep up the great work
Have had my 513 UL in August and LOVE IT!
Excellent video sir, once again. Love what you do. The Judge is an awesome firearm and I think it will be the next one in my collection. Thanks again for a great video.
That intro music just made Sootch even more of a badass.
Great review!!!! I REALLY Appreciate that you SHOW, and demo, with good close ups, how to operate this tool, and all of the various design, safety, and operating characteristics!!!! I LOVE your thorough demo of this tool!!!! AWESOME!!!! PLEASE CONTINUE to DO MORE VIDEOS!!!! THANKS!!!
I have one in the bag with a Mossberg 590 in 410g......nice combo for self defense.
Awesome video!!! It is impressive , how many ammo options there are with this fine pistol...Outstanding price too!!!
Should never had watched this video, now I want one!
All said and done this is an awesome close combat gun love the pdx1 mixed with a couple 45 longs. Love your vids.
Great review, and entertaining as well. Fun sense of humor
Thank you
WOW WOW!!! GREAT PRODUCTION!! Like a movie!!!
As a northerner, I just like the way you say shotgun "shay-ells"👍
Great vid sooch, was always curious about this gun and you cleared up the mystery for me. Def gonna get one for the home ... Thumbs way up!
I love your reviews.
Excellent job!
Keep on keepin on.
Great Handgun, I bought one when they first came out.
I know a guy who has a 6.5 judge on tractor for rats while getting hay or running the bush hog. This gun has been on that tractor for years and it looks like hell, it looked like was in need of some TLC. I didn't think it would fire and I was wrong it never missed a beat, I was impressed.
Wow, I was thinking about a defense pistol great product information without any BS , good job,Txs.
I arm my mom with one of these with the 410 PDX1 rounds for home defense when I'm not around. No matter how nervous she gets I'm pretty sure at least some pellets will hit the intruder and make then turn tail and run! The judge being half the price of the Governor made it an easy choice for me :)
Good to know your Mom isn't worth the extra dollars
Not to mention six rounds in the Smith vs five in the Taurus
You should also take her out to actually familiarize her with the gun. Get her confident and comfortable! She should also have a line drawn no going back state of mind now!
@@ZIGMAN775 because 5 misses is very common.
@@davidrozendaal1183 especially at about 7 feet
A Taurus Judge fits perfectly into a Cub Cadet ride on 52" mower compartment... just say'n ;-) If you are mowing over an acre in a rural acre, it's nice to know it's there. I have 2.5" cylinder with 4" barrel.
Especially when the grass is knee high
Best review on the net by far. Thank you.
Great gun for snakes. I use regular bird shot for snakes. Cheap, yet effective.
Just bought one absolutely love it
Sootch is like the nicest reviewer and person on the youtube, and the only person ive seen intentionally aim for the hostage on a hostage/hostage taker steel target...
Number one on the Sheriff's list!
Love my public defender and circuit judge.
Have the Judge Magnum, and the Judge Rifle and the Tarus 7 shot revolver, also Smith 627 8 shot 357 and the Judge Magnum revolver always wins out. Love this gun.
Had my Judge for about 10 years , fine pistol .
Love my Taurus, going out to shoot today, with a friend who just got one (I wouldn’t sell him mine, but offered to let him use it).
Love my Judge!! I recently purchased a Judge holster from Jackson LeatherWork. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship by John Jackson.
I didn't want one, now
I have two. 2-1/2 Cylinder
And 3 in cyl. Potent
Close range and fun

Ok Sootch, been waiting on an update, and testing of the JUDGE ammo as you stated.
Love my 2.5 inch .410 Stainless with 4 inch barrel. A superb varmint education device.
When shooting a .45 acp in a 3 inch chamber, there is a LONG jump to the rifling's. Lending to shaving lead at the forcing cone and leading of the barrel.
The .410 high brass in #4's and bigger have more recoil than the standard 45 LC rounds.
The Judge is not made for 45 acp only 45 colt. It will fire but will eventually damage it
I have the carbine version of "THE JUDGE", by Taurus, the "CIRCUIT JUDGE". .45 colt/410. Comes with fiber optic sight, choke kit for 410. Great field carbine/truck gun. So MANY ammo options in shot, or .45 colt. Self defense or hunting up to small deer sized animals, then over to 410 for small game or birds.
Love it...I also have a Black Hawk with 45 Long Colt...and with the .410...have to get one.
These videos are the most entertaining on youtube, keep up the awesome videos sootch
You sir are one of the best gun review channels on CZcams keep it up😎

The Intro & Song Are Unbeatable Great Work Man
I love my Judge...410 slug 1700 ft ps and 45 colt 980 ps... Wow...make my day puck....clin Eastwood
Good review as always. The music get better every day.
The Judge is just as well made as the Governor.
Just bought one from buds 2 shipping to my dealer......can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow..... I like staggering the rounds 45 LC then.410 defense rounds
I love guns I love shooters you just sold this Taurus for them, this is such a Knightstand gun for sleepytime, I appreciate all you responsible shooters as well, I do not appreciate the younger generation with the CC looking for a shootout scenario . GOD GUNS GOODWILL
Love mine I've had it for 8 years and not that heavy and it's a good thing for self defense it's like a shot gun but no long barrel
I want a shotgun fir my collection but I also love being able to maneuver a weapon and the judge just speaks to me.
Sold my Governor a few years back and recently picked up this revolver and i like it even better!
1 less round and the loss of ability to shoot 45 ACP. Yup, way better 🤣
@@curmudgeonextraordinaire1884 I can shoot 3 inch 410 out of it and I like the trigger better good enough for me your mileage may vary!
@@tomb4568 $350 less and more powerful. 5 pellets judge vs 4 in the governor buckshot. Not only that, theres a 6.5 inch battle with higher velocity for every projectile. 200fps higher in many cases.
I bought a mirror stainless model when they 1st came out. Put a crimson trace laser grip on it. Still my home defense today
Just bought this yesterday :)
I bought the govenor last week
@@christopherroberts780 price ??
@Christian bought my Judge when they first came out. Also have a Raging Bull as well. Now that's a hand cannon.
I want one!!! Great video sir. Thank you.
As always great informative video.
The judge is the best all around self defence hand gun.. THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suspect that the Judge could certainly get a carjacker's attention and it would be a potent night stand gun, but I can't imagine carrying the thing. Still, a .410 revolver? How could you not want to own one?
They now have the public defender which is lighter and a little shorter for ccw, but I'd rather have the big boy
I'd like to but live in the anti 2nd amendment state of calif. They have outlawed this firearm why i dont know im thinking because they could! Perhaps equateing to a sawed off shotgun.
This thing is *mean*
I have one myself.
I love my Taurus Judge Public Defender Polymer! I have also shot some Dragons Breath rounds out of it for another great option.
He really doled it out to that pineapple.
Just got one and it's a great gun the judge 2 inch barrel blue Shoots Great highly recommend
My preference is the 1st one you tested - Federal Premium 000 w/5 pellets. Lowest recoil, and great penetration according to another video I saw where it was tested with gel. One pellet went 17 inches.
The 4 pellets in 2.5 inch are actually moves faster than the 3 inch 5 pellets
I own a Stainless Public Defender, Bobbed hammer. I use the Triple defence rounds. Very accurate out to 25 yards. Softball sized pattern.
Best review ever!!! Love my Taurus
Awesome review as always.
Hi from Luxembourg! We love your videos!!
Alex Amgghost, Can you own a pistol in Luxembourg
I had a polymre public defender and wish I had kept it. If I pick up another one it will be the blued 3" model. Also had the 6" Raging judge which fired .454 casul. That was a beast!
I like your review, very thoughtful 😊
Outstanding for all defense
Looks like a beast, fun as hell !!!
