*"I do not think it inappropriate to introduce myself. I am the man who accompanied Jaqueline Kennedy to Paris, and I have enjoyed it!"* is what he said after she took Paris by storm. He didn't even say his own name--the POTUS--but said her first and last He LOVED it. He loved who Jackie leveled up the Kennedys. He was so proud of her, he started learning about designers and when Princess Grace visited he leaned over and asked her "is that Givenchy?" about her outfit. They thought people were going to see Jackie as an inapproachable snob who they couldn't relate to so they would keep her in the back while he was campaigning so she wouldn't be him look "too rich and aristocratic" OF course, we know he slept anything with a hole in it but he learned that doggish way from his whoremongering dad. But towards the end of his life, he was reforming and even one of his mistresses said he'd stopped shagging her and told her he was "trying to behave" By that time he'd finally fallen in love with his wife and knew what he had, that's why the assassination hit so hard for her too.

And I think the RF was so jealous of Di b/c they were nothing but ugly, big-eared, in-bred nobodies without those titles. They're a bunch of failures who can't succeed at anything without their titles b/c nobody is interested (like Edward's "film career"). Anne gets praised b/c she shakes hands 400 times more a year than the others. Big. Woop. They're socially awkward and weird and unrelatable (look at the documentary Elizabeth at 90 as they watch the home movies. They laugh at stuff that's not funny and it's just strange how they act--I can't put my finger on it--but "out of touch" is what I sum it up as). Who in THE HELL would've screwed Prince Charles if he was Charles Smith? They get so scared and jealous whenever someone new marries in b/c they're so scared she's going to be the next Diana and that's the only time people have interest in them--when an outsider comes in because they are BORING! They are screwed if Catherine kicks the bucket. It's going to be the dead years, like 1998-2010 before Kate came along.

While I agree that sentiment to be true, William and Charles don’t exactly have the same history of how they are raised. William had a level of stability and love from his mother, it provides a degree of self confidence and worth. Diana at least let her kids know they’re worth it. Charles was sent away to attend school, bullied and lonely and had parents who were either not really there or thought he wasn’t worth it. So Charles lacks that kind of stable self confidence to be okay with someone else having a greater lime light. This is why how you raise your children and provide for them emotionally is important. Diana and Charles, despite their marital problems, at least did it better to their kids than Elizabeth II and Phillip did with Charles.

In his eyes, he was never in the spotlight. On the contrary, he felt completely invisible. In the show, his father bullied him and treated him like an idiot from a very young age. His mother behaved like a sphynx. The only positive relationships he had were with his great-uncle and his sister. Let me debunk this point by point,
      - in Paris, they follow the strategy of stopping the ambulance to provide stabilisation to victims, they don't perform those actions while the ambulance is in motion. The reason it took over 45 minutes was because she kept getting worse, since she was bleeding internally, and every time she went into cardiac arrest or stopped breathing the ambulance also had to stop so the EMTs could stabilise her again.
      - Cars are designed to crumple on impact, because of physics.
      - Her driver didnt know he would be driving them again that night and had been drinking- he was THREE TIMES over the french limit, which is already a higher allowance than in the UK or the states. He was hammered and in no position to be driving at all.
      - She was operated on and because she broke her femur her femoral artery was severed, Being desperate to find the bleed and stop it they did have to open her up and remove bone fragments etc- its nothing unusual in trauma surgery, and if they hadnt THAT would have been very strange indeed.
It isnt a grand conspiracy, she was in the wrong place with the wrong person and when the driver decided he would try to outpace the papparazi he went way too fucking fast in that tunnel. She may have been an icon, a beacon, a symbol, but she was still a woman of flesh and blood who couldnt overcome the trauma of that crash.
to imply anything else is an insult to her memory. Enough horrid calculated things happened to her in life to get on with, without resorting to conspiracies surrounding her death.
