Moment of realization for them that their privacy is everyone’s entertainment until the end of time
The respect of the press of this time. Exceptional juxtaposition of the later press of Diana’s time.
That's a wonderful observation, thank you for pointing it out.
Remember she is the heir to the throne and therefore treated very differently.
Back when they knew the difference between news and gossip.
They traded. With Other news materials.
They had no choice
That cameraman is a stand-up guy. I can't imagine the present media parasites even entertaining the idea of not publishing the private lives of anyone - let alone public figures.
If it had been today. It would’ve been Instagrammed in a minute and on TMZ within the hour
Porque antes había ética, valores morales, límite y respeto.
Lo de hoy son puro mediocre que malamente usan la frase "libertad de expresión" solo para vender la vida privada sea de un político o celebridad como morbo para el público actual.
I love that the journalists never look excited that they've caught such a scandalous moment. I imagine the media that hounded Princess Diana would be gleeful, these guys are just quiet and respectful, they know it was a private moment.
If it had been today. It would’ve been Instagrammed in a minute and on TMZ within the hour
Lol, true.
I teared up a little when he gave her the film, that was incredibly kind
Back when “gentlemen press” was still a thing.
Sadly wasn’t around when Diana was alive and won’t ever be again.
Could it be because she wasn't the Queen? Or maybe gentleman press did exist for any royal family members
It actually kind of is a thing. The press today have a very cooperative relationship with the celebrities they cover.
Wonder if this happened. Can you imagine the modern press doing anything at all like this?
Yes this really happened including the tennis racket being thrown. And she did apologise to them afterwards and asked for the tapes. They seemed much more respectable in journalism then - now it'd be all over Facebook.
@@user-xs8bt7fn2edon't forget tennis shoes 😅😅😅
@@bradhaines1844 boohoo where's your proof
@@LuigiUniverseReal Everywhere. You'd have to be blind not to see it.
It happened but slightly differently. The Queen went back inside, mortified, and the royal press secretary went over and politely asked for the footage. Instead of handing it over, the cameraman did what he does here - exposed it to sunlight making it unusable. Afterwards the Queen went over and personally thanked them for destroying the footage and offered to give them an interview, but they declined.
The Duke of Edinburgh definitely chose violence in this scene.
They were always so civilized (in the show, of course, who knows in real life), I had totally forgotten about this bit 😂
Seems out of character for the always measured and controlled Elizabeth, but she's of course younger and grieving here.
Lucky she didn’t pick up the phone and get the Tower of London on the horn.
Lol, true.😂
He really was petty and childish. He "married up" but was mad he wasn't "king". He had at least one affair. The queen put up with it because of the C of E rules on divorce, and she respected the institution and what it meant if she were to go against the rules. I feel for her in that she always had the "no fun" roles but did it out of duty.
Damn. He mimicked the stammer and everything. Jeez.
Yeah that was just fucking mean. I can understand being frustrated at Elizabeth but mimicking George VI’s stuttering was completely unnecessary and WAY over the line.
@@flowerfaerie8931 It was also incredibly mean to taunt his wife with the rivalry with her sister. Between both things I wouid have told him to get out too.
This is my absolutely fav scene
Strange. It's my favorite scene well.
1:15 this is the 20th century now, and not even the Royal Family has any privacy anymore
As soon as Philip brought up Elizabeth's father and her and Margaret's rivalry, I was like, "ok, so he's dead. I'll start making the funeral arrangements now."😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😆
Prince Philip: (mocks King George VI infront of Elizabeth's face)
Queen Elizabeth II: 0:59 *So, you have chosen death?!*
RIP for both of them
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣So true.
Yeah it's like because they're Royals they can't have fights. God i really love my privacy...
Once even journalists were gentlemen - not paparazzis.
She should have divorced Philip then. He did not appreciate Elizabeth. He was a brat.
dIvorce ?
1:13 “Shit we’re screwed”
Phillip should have remembered himself.
What does that mean?
It means he married the next Sovereign of England, and one does not disrespect such people in front of others.
People in the comments are forgetting the context; the Queen being utterly committed to the tour. A great sign of resoect for the Commonwealth, that the Commonwealth repay here.
When people werent narcissistic and werent just looking to get a name for themselves on the expense of others.
Lol and that was during the 1950s?
@@millers3888 was less common before social media
@@markluka7356narcissism has nothing to do with social media.People were very narcissistic then, different ways but still narcissistic.
Poor Elizabeth, she loved her Father so much who only become King because Edward born David abdicaed for Wallis Simpson. Wouldn't it be something if it were discovered she was related to Wallis Simpson.
I am in favour for Matt as 007
Damn, not a bad idea.
I love Matt Smith, so that's worth looking into.
For once the person being portrayed is actually better looking than the actor! They couldn’t find someone more handsome than Prince Philip?
damn poor matt smith
Sure, but more charming than Matt Smith? Never. Physical features don't determine acting skills.
Yes they can’t.
Leave Matt alone, no need to hate on him, geez.
I personally think Matt Smith is more handsome than Philip at this age but okay
Just speaking for the plot, she doesn’t need to get angry or get physical, all she need to do is just breath in relaxation and say: “You’re one to talk” and then basically just point out what kind of a bastard his father is and the fact that he still craves for his father’s approval or a father figure even though he spend every ounce of his energy proving his masculinity, his clarity and his independence is just amusing to her. If Philip dares to throw fist at her after this, then that’s another story.
Reminds me of Uncle Larry and Aunt Rosie.
You may record The Queen, but not Elizabeth herself.
hahaha that was awesome
Damn, I understand Phillip was effing pissed that Lizzie Q took his ciggies away, but he didn't have to imitate and mock her father's stutter, that was *really* unnecessary bro.😑
what a spectacular human being
Well if they could run cover for FDR like they did - They can certainly cut the Queen a little slack. Bully!
The actor is so good, that i felt angry of him
Having this footage wouldve been a TREAT ngl
Non aveva scelta 😎
And here we have a BTS argument between the 11th doctor and river song 😂
Will u keep this film???😳
Ok..." Hallo, MI6 ? May. I have. helps, here?"
He complained throughout.....very ungrateful sort.
Exactly. He complained a lot but his life was the most privileged of all thanks to her and her position in the world. Otherwise he was penniless, fatherless and motherless, no family other than Lord Mountbatten, yet he was unhappy to play second fiddle, he wanted to be King.
E-news: "Their tempers were very frayed...This film crew was standing outside their little holiday villa. The next thing they knew, Prince Philip appeared on the balcony, followed by a tennis racket and a pair of tennis shoes thrown at his head. The queen came out and shouted at him to come back. She then grabbed [Philip] and dragged him back inside."
However, it wasn't Elizabeth who asked for the footage back. The royal press secretary did. Although, it's said the queen did thank the crew for their discretion.
Did this actually happen?
Apparently so. It was their one day off during the 1954 Australian tour. Philip took the smart option and flew up to Woomera.
I think it did 🤣
Exactly what I was thinking
It did!
@@michaelhayden725I lived in Woomera!
1:00 Wow. Elizabeth II flips out.
Did this actually happen in real life? Elizabeth II flipped out?
it did, but it wasn't known what they were arguing about
@@sarahstone4339 I'm sure those newscasters that caught the moment knew what it was about, but out of respect, they've taken that conversation to the grave, so to speak.they just pointed out that they had a marriage fight to led to a racket and shoes flying towards Philip's head and an embarrassed wife paying for the caught-on-camera outburst.
Perhaps. The sad part is seeing how the conversation is strictly between 2 people, we have ZERO idea what it was about or the exact words.
@@sarahstone4339how do you know what they were arguing about?
@@startracker5895 "it wasnt known what the argument was about"
obviously because the reporters were outside and across a lawn, so had no idea what caused the Queen to throw a tennis racket and scream at her husband.
and we will NEVER know what was ever really said. He could of said that dress made her look fat, or to emote once in a while instead of looking like she was always walking at a funeral march. We will never truly know.
Her Aussie subjects loved her so much they put her on the $5 note & gave her back her DV tape 🇬🇧 🇦🇺 💷
I’d love to know what the real argument was about! Lol
Did this actually happen
Damn, was Phillip *trying* to get himself killed in this scene?😂For real. It's like, bro, stop before you get brutally murdered by the Queen of England.🤣🤣🤣
