- NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos. This model was built using .030 thick Styrene plastic for the track, aluminum tubing for the track support spine and wood dowels for the structure. Cars are 3D printed and the wheels are O scale train trucks that are modified. The scale of the model is G scale or approximately 1 : 24 scale.
The Screamroller became the first looping roller coaster in the state of Missouri when it opened on April 10, 1976. This particular coaster is a sentimental favorite of mine, as it was the very first ride I ever rode on my first visit to Worlds of Fun in 1979. This is the 4th version of this model that has been built, this time in 1 : 24 scale, which is twice as big as our normal 1 : 48 scale models. This also includes our first POV footage, filmed with a GoPro Hero 4.

I love the on board view! Great video
Well done. This roller coaster made history at Worlds of Fun as the first roller coaster in the park with inversions just four years before the (now-defunct) Orient Express that had interlocking loops and a kamikaze curve. And then when Worlds of Fun decided to enter the wooden roller coaster market in an effort to be more competitive with other amusement parks, that’s where they didn’t have any choice other than to remove this and sell to another amusement park to make room for the Timber Wolf while reusing the station and entrance for the newer ride.
One thing I like about these models is the ascetic aesthetic. They don't look like they should work but they do.
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Very nice! I always wanted to do this with one of them. The GoPro is a slightly better camera, but it would have been easier to use a camera like the Mobius since it is much smaller and can still do 1080p at 30fps
My friend bought me the Go-Pro - money is very tight after having opened the Roller Coaster Model Museum, so I worked with what I have, but I would like I smaller one so I could do POV's of my O-scale models.
I understand that. You've got to do what you've got to do by all means. Just for reference though, the Mobius is around $70, granted that may be a bit much for what it's worth to you.
I'm glad to see you're still doing these coasters.
Great model. I assume this is a recreation of an Arrow Dynamics Corkscrew model, right? Your version sure seems a lot smoother.
Is this rollercoaster stil opperating?
+Nick Kleijnen Het werd verwijderd in 1988 en verplaatst naar een park in Taiwan. Het was er tot ongeveer 2004. (via Google Translate - Is het niet geweldig technologie!)
+www.modelcoasters.com thx for the reaction how did you know that i was dutch?
+Nick Kleijnen When you post, it sends the comment in Dutch to my email...lol.
Corkscrew at Knotts Berry Farm
I recognize the music. It's the same music I Hate Everything uses in his outro.
IHE FTW!
+Sokobansolver I've been changing it up now that I don't use Roxio (I've started using Power Director, which I like a lot better!) I no longer have rights to our familiar intro music, though I may fork out the 80.00 for it some day. This music is from Kevin MacLeod and it's $5.00 a pop, so $10.00 for this video to use two of his songs.
I thought royalty free meant you could freely use it (even if you monetize videos) as long as you give credit and there would be no copyright violation.
+www.modelcoasters.com Have you tried the CZcams music library or freeplaymusic.com? I have success using those for music. Great job by the way! Another great model!!
+Sokobansolver NO! Royalty Free DOES NOT mean you can freely use it. Royalty Free means you don't have to pay the copyright holder EVERY TIME someone views your video. Same thing with Royalty Free images, you pay for it once, but then you don't have to pay it each time you use it or it is viewed. A royalty is something paid to each performer/actor composer for each movie ticket sold, each song played, image used, etc. A lot of people are not familiar with copyright and that's why a lot of people get into trouble. :)
I want to build one, have you found out a way to make new car ts
+zackary ampuero Working on it this week...stay tuned.
