i absolutely loved his story quest when i did it! can’t wait to get him on his rerun. zhongli wanters will be zhongli havers.
and the sad part is... Azhdaha is just ONE of Zhongli's old companions.
Living for thousands of years must be the most terrifying thing ever. Not only has he lost so many people he keeps dear to his heart, however overtime his memory also undergoes erosion, just like Azdaha. The poor dragon was exposed to countless years and his memories began to fade away, only leaving those of a merciless, animalistic dragon to take over, yet there was a small fragment of memory stored within that remembered the good deeds of Morax. It makes me think of Zhongli's other friends too, the only friend he has who's currently alive is Venti. Even his dearest friend (I don't know if there was any spark of romance?) Guizhong, who taught him to let go of his cold-blooded personality as a war god and embrace the mortals and the world for it's beauty. It's devastating that she died in his arms, I can't imagine how much pain he must've felt :(((
one thing that hurts me so much is how Morax chose "Zhongli" as his human name. The chinese characters can be interpreted as "time" and "departure", his name literally means that it's his time to leave. He accepts it, accepts his fate knowing he completed all his contracts. I hope he lives happily his "human" life 😭❤
I love Azhdaha's theme! Funfact: the lyrics are in old chinese and are talking about Azhdaha and his relationship with Rex Lapis.

Man I can't believe it's taken me so long to put these pieces together. Zhongli straight tells us that elemental reactions can make dragonfall, and Traveler made a "strange substance" when drinking the elemental potion Albedo gave him. The effect of drinking it supposedly caused a literal elemental reaction in their gut so there is a high odds it is dragonfall. If true though, it suggests the Traveler's elemental energy is insane as the only place it was ever made was in the archon war.
the dialogue between azhdaha and zhongli always makes me tear up, goddammit

In ZhongLi's trailer, the storyteller begins by saying that "We last left on a tale of an Ocean Demon (Osial Overlord of the Vortex, the sea snake boss at the end of the Liyue Archon Quest Act 3) and Mountain Dragon (Azhdaha)." That trailer was released LONG before we even got to the end of the Liyue Archon Quest or even got the first ZhongLi story quest, let alone the second. There are so many moments in Genshin like this where lines that are seemingly meaningless suddenly gain extraordinary meaning when the relevant stories are revealed in game in future updates. Some of the artifacts' stories do this too. :))
When Zhongli and Azhdaha had their closure, I was so emotional xD Zhongli was just looking at the stone tablet where Azhdaha was sealed ;-;
I like how when you go from region to region Catherine always makes jokes denying and confirming that there is only one of them when she in fact is a robot
The stuff about erosion always reminds me about my grandfather. He got Alzheimer's and it really affected his personality. He forgot everything, couldn't remember his family, and became aggressive. He even forgot about me. He passed shortly afterwards so fortunately he didn't have to suffer too long.
Zhongli's quest is the reason why I wish they'd let us replay past quests/events even just the cutscenes. I hope there'll come a time where that would be possible alskdjlakd
I want more parts of Zhongli quests where we meet these ancient beings

I watch a lot of Genshin content creators but I think you're my favourite for story quests. When a story is emotional you acknowledge that which makes me enjoy your videos more because it seems like you're immersed in the story and not just thinking about entertaining us with jokes. Not that there's anything wrong with just thinking of that, I watch those kinds of streamers too, I just think Genshin's storytelling is so good and I enjoy seeing other people appreciate it. So thank you for making these videos. They make my day better.
Since Zhongli has been alive for a long time, there's a lot of stories to unfold and his friendship with Azhdaha was told in a very cool way (btw, the reunion revelation is epic). As a weekly boss, he is tough to fight as for my level so I do play Co op every week.
