The bird at the end was signifying "coming home". At the very start of the quest, they show an empty bird nest, and the end, the very same bird nest with the bird in it.

It wasn't empty tho, there was a bird in the beginning too. I thought it signified someone spying on us because the quest was about changing forms and that the exterior doesn't matter, aka the bird isn't a bird but someone else.

It's kinda interesting knowing that changing forms is very difficult for a young god like Nahida. We see Zhongli, who has tons of myths eluding to his different forms, and Venti, who actively stays in his transformed state all the time. Goes to show the raw power level difference that time can cause.

I think Zhongli and Venti are simply disguising themselves. Nahida quite literally transformed into another being on an elemental level, that might be the difference.
Could also be that it's the process of transformation that is taxing. Venti transformed once, and that's it.

@@prathedragon9847 Venti is a wind-whisp and Zhongli's true adaptal form is a dragon so they quit literally had to change their very being too or ells they wouldn't be humans
It's probably just Nahida being very young and currently still very weak to the point that of if she would use any great power she would exhaust herself and turn basically into her juvenile form, Venti and Zhongli are the two only original of the Seven and among the oldest and wise Gods alive rn (of that we know of) so they probably have an easier time to change and maintain different forms then the youngest and weakest God alive at the moment

At 27:11 in regards to the persistence of the withering even after the deletion of the forbidden knowledge, the way I've always interpreted it was that forbidden knowledge was the knife and the withering was the cut it left behind. Even if the knife is melted into slag, the cuts it made wouldn't disappear until they heal on their own or someone treats them.
The aranaras said that even after we clean the manara from the tree there's still some left to care.
One of the best quests with lore. I loved the shrooms, especially the little anemo one. The scene of Apep from a distance is of the best scenes in genshin so far. Thanks Bran

There is few pieces of info about Sumeru Nail hidden in artifacts:
1. It was the first nail to fall on Teyvat and is responsible for desertification of Sumeru (Gilded Dreams headpiece)
2. Eternal Oasis was build near it by King Deshret, using it's power to preserve it (Desert Pavilion Chronicles timepiece)
With this in mind, it means nail is above Eternal Oasis in sandstorm or below it.
The eternal oasis was said to below the nail somewhere since it used its material and energy to maintain it

so likely the pyro archon will reveal what happened during the war between the primordial one and the dragons. since the next line in the trailer is about her sharing that secrete with the traveler.
@@xXzman9000Xx I'm unsure if she'd know that or not since it's stated she's not the og Pyro Archon but they're successor much like Hydro and Cryo are also stated not the og Archons as well. But we never know for sure the ogs may have left notes or scripts for any that come after them to learn the history before ascending to be the next archons. Least my little theory on it

its easy to think that the replacement archon has to be someone younger, but nothing says it has to be.
also you can just look back at raiden's situation and see how things are not always clear cut.
she wasn't the original archon, but also was responsible for ALL of the archon's feats both before and after the archon's death.
so they could also be stronger then the original archon, more knowledgeable, and so on.

another reason why we need 1 or maybe 2 new world levels added to make open world and even quest enemies harder. I also facerolled everything in this quest with my stacked/geared character and not saw those attacks. Final Boss was also pushower and I literally was running around the arena to not hit the boss just for the sake of seeing it's attacks since I would nuke it in few attacks lmao)
Fuck devs for showing middle finger towards people that actually know how to play this game and use all game systems (leveling, gearing, using elemental reactions, etc)

Not gonna lie, I'm gonna agree with you right there. When I saw Apep for the first time, my jaw literally dropped to the floor in shock because of how ginormous and mystical it was.
The child of the mushroom is named Nur. And it's true, Nur means Light in Arabic. The name of my late brother is also Nur.

Deshret seems to be referenced by this 3 characters, Amun Ra, King Solomon and Al ahmar

Technically we do but it's pretty limited. Even the more interactive little companions like the new one Sorush can only do other things in a certain part of the map.
I can't believe alot of people still didn't know that Snakes, Serpents, and Dragons are basically the same. And btw Zhongli is not a dragon, but a Prime Adeptus so it's no surprise that he could take a dragon form [ Same goes to Youkai ]

Okay but the elemental fungi talking about how difficult it is to change forms, and how exhausted nahida was after changing into a fungus makes me wonder a thing .. isn't Venti originally a wind spirit, like a pure anemo elemental being? Did he change like the elemental fungi over time or does he just uphold this form like nahida when she was a fungus? It would tell us a little more about ventis actual strength if it's the second thing... Maybe I'm just copiuming here tho

When Nahida said that the fungus was an Elemental Life Form I immediately thought back to Venti and began wondering if he too was subjugated under the same rules as that of the fungus, or if he is a special case. We know he knew the god of time and he may or may not be related to her (like a son or avatar), either way, this connection is interesting because there was the whole talk in the quest about how growth cannot be rush and that you need TIME in order to transform. As well as lots of energy. I really don’t think Venti is the “weakest” archon. At the very least, he is much more important than what people thought at first and with every patch somehow connecting back to mond or to Venti himself, it just makes me wonder what the heck will be in his second story quest.
@@serelylyhikari9771 exactly! The mention of time was kind of suspicious too in ventis context. I don't believe he's the weakest archon as well, since we barely seen his power or abilities. Also he was capable of healing Dvalin on his own, yet he made the traveller do it for interrupting him, and he knew the sibling of the traveller. So it makes me think that he hides his power on purpose, hence why he made us do it. Venti is just such a suspicious character overall, since we don't even know why the Tsaritsa and him strongly dislike each other, and him not showing his powers.... There's so much to still get to know from him

Don't worry we will get a second story quest eventually I'm almost certainly it will be mondstadt s expansion when it released as there are areas missing in mondstadt like dormand port
About the tucan which you see at the beginning and ending of the quest, it "left" the nest in the beginning, which is its "home", and in the end of the quest, it "returned" to the nest. The quest's name is "Homecoming" afterall.
Given all of the talk about changing forms quickly needing power enough to break through constraints of time and how much energy it took from nahida, its really interesting to know what techniques do zhongli and the adepti use to change their forms, especially zhongli since he is said to have taken many different forms

Best girl Nahida at it again with a heart-wrenching story. Only reason I found it a bit short was because I wanted more, but for the story it was trying to tell it did an excellent job. Wonder if we'll ever get those "corrupted" fungi as spiral Abyss enemies.
1:29:36 I think this is when elder shroom got protection from Greater Lord and made an agreement that they will meet again before he went to hibernate in Chasm. She replied but got redacted because of Irminsul being rewritten.
this alone can sparks a lot of theories. because from what we've seen that althought history was remade, people who died or agreements that were made the result will still persists but in form of occured or made from different causes/sources. in this case elder shroom in his perspective, he was "made an agreement with Nahida" 500 years ago just after she got shrinked from spending power to cleansed (but not all) forbidden knowledge in desert. but Nahida herself cannot remember this at all... then how could he remembered ? perhaps the apocalyse in him (which was caused by Forbidden Knowledge and althought got changed to something else by Celestial Nail) was something from outer Teyvat so keeping them also made him keep "deleted history" with him.. even though those memories are incompleted/partially rewritten in the end.
This quest just pushes my idea that Deshret REALLY isn’t dead or his part in the story isn’t finished 😊

Deshret probably managed to separate his soul from body (filled with corrupted Forbidden Knowledge) so his soul went into Golden Slumber while the corrupted empty body/husk was eaten by Apep (since Deshret was official "dead" for rest of Teywat so their deal had to be finalized and she consumed him). Deshret soul free from corruption managed to escape from Golden Slumber at some point and manifest in Teywat as purple crystal/Sinner.
Apep said that she was not able to analyze anything from Deshret body since she had to constantly fight vs Forbidden Knowleadge corruption so this way she never was able to realize she got trolled/fooled by Deshret, she just eat stinky rotten egg without any good value

Fun quest. Second story quests really are enjoyable.
Also, I just noticed but all second story quests pull players directly into the fight. The archon quest lets us access the boss fight in the story like a normal domain, but here, we’re just going straight in
The moment it came out, I did it. The 2nd cutscene broke my heart. I was very sad yet very happy about the fact that those “fungi“ came back home. I totally didn’t expect the fire seed to just break like that and Nahida risking her life just to save Apep. In my opinion, part II of the quest was much better than part I, it was truly astonishing..
**About the bird , its imply the elemental creatures made by Apep .
The first scene of this quest is showing the bird leave the nest (their home inside Apep) for saving Apep
The last scene of this quest is showing the bird back to the nest (they can finally stay at home after this quest) .

Hi Bran! Think of the Forbidden Knowledge like, say, the polio virus. People get it, some die, some survive, but even if they get better, they will never be the same again. They no longer have polio, but signs of how it affected it would never go away. That's what's happening with forbidden knowledge. It's gone, but the damage it did to Teyvat would never go away.
Bruh just finished the story quest and its was really good.. now i know the truth about the withering zone. The reason behind the apocalypse. And the dragon. Oh boy and the fact that the elemental being describe how paimon full of human traits but different from the inside just like the elemental being like slime make me even more curious about her. And how the desert was actually created by the spike probably what we seen from dragon spine chasm etc. And btw i love the anemo fungus 😭😭😭😭😭

imagine irminsul being reset like that is a way to timelock out of certain lore because later archons will have more knowledge of khanria or something?? or some random guy who survived the war and saw it all but is forgetting everything and going crazy and also knows what happened to our sister

I loved this quest, it was simply magical, I loved the importance of the shrooms, the lore of it was also great plus Nahida is one of my fav characters so it was great to interact with her and hear her voice (she’s just so kind I want to hug her

I wonder how other players or streamers/youtubers that played this quest felt because a lot of this lore might have went over their head. I say this because the whole story and lore makes complete sense to anyone who has learned about the dragons and the era before gods. Is this technically the first quest that has directly referred to the dragons and their era besides the books and lore text?
to explain the whole turning smaller AGAIN thing, first the greater lord helped king deshret (Amun al ahmar) to sacrifice himself and rid the world of forbidden knowledge and became small but still remained as the greater lord (this was even BEFORE the archon war 2000+ and she became big again as she grew overtime) and then after in khaenri'ahs destruction all the seven were summoned by celestia to khaenri'ah but the greater lord couldnt go since she had to look after irminsul, as it turns out forbidden knowledge was still very much there and the only way was to rid herself from this word, but as she couldnt do it herself she snapped a branch from irminsul and created kusanali hoping that she will finish the job for her once and for all
cuz everyone forgot the greater lord they believe kusanali always ruled sumeru and only lost her memory and turned small 500 years ago and was able to finally rid th world of all forbidden knowledge recently by the power of 2 gnosis

Small notes tho, you seem to think Zhongli is a dragon but truth is, hes not.
And the term adeptus is complicated, it is more a state than race. It basically means Illuminated immortal and it consiste of humans, Illuminated beasts and gods bound by a contract to protect Liyue from demons and evil gods. Most of them were granted their illumination by MORAX thats why is the prime adeptus.
Illuminated beats is are a specific type of adepti, in chinese it means Illuminated immortal beasts so random that obtained illumination (mystical powers, high spiritual enlightment, ability to talk, take human form etc..)
Ex: Cloud retainer - crane
Ping - carpe etc...
Zhongli true identity is kinda vague cause he took many form, we dont know what he is. Btw his exuvia form was not a full dragon, it was specifically stated to be a half-dragon half-Qillin

Maybe you already played it but there's a small 'after credits' Quest on the next Daily reset which involves going to see how Anemo Fungus's family fares.
It's a really short Quest, less than 5 minutes.
Also, they kept showing that bird because it's a mother - like Hydro Elemental Fungus. The bird is implied to hatch eggs in the nest, much like Hydro Elemental Fungus tried her best to protect her child and her 'family' - both Fungi and Dendro Elemental beings.

Now that we've seen Nahida changing into a fungus lmao, and how they emphasise the relationship between growth (and shape shifting) and time, I kept thinking about our now yet even more sussy boi Venti... Like you grew from a small wind spirit to intentionally turn into the form of your dead friend for over 2000 years. This to me seem different from other Archons or Gods we've met, since their preceeding/alternate forms seem natural, Zhongli and the adepti has animal forms and human form, Nahida growing from a branch to her current form because she is the incarnation of Rukk and the avatar of Irminsul. Yet Venti's choice and transformation seem the most unnatural out of these. Nahida got tired after just a few moments of intentional transformation and "bending the law of time", while our boi just kept going. Just how much power does he has or has been given from the God of Time?

"Golden Nara" is the Abyss Twin. The final entry (Chapter VI: Someone's Message) in the Aranyaka (Aranara Book in our Inventory) was clearly written by "Golden Nara" and the Aranyaka we acquire was, as stated by the Aranara that gave it to us, the personal property of "Golden Nara." One of the passages of that chapter mentions the author's sibling (they outright use "Sister" or "Brother" depending on which character you chose to play as) meeting the Aranara. That combined with the facts that the Aranara feel we are very similar to "Golden Nara" (if "Golden Nara" is our Twin, well, we ARE twins so it would make sense that the Aranara would sense familiarity when meeting The Traveler) and The Traveler seems to suspect the identity of "Golden Nara" throughout the Aranara World Quest as we get more and more information about them all but confirms that "Golden Nara" is, in fact, "Abyss Twin." And now add in what we learned during Caribert that our Twin didn't become "Evil" until after the Sumeru leg of their journey across Teyvat and "Golden Nara" can be no one else.
This was one of the juiciest quests till date in genshin!!!!!
