Ragnar is going to be so wicked! I love seeing this type of off-road conversion. No cutting, no fiberglass, just beautiful bug goodness. Fingers crossed my wife or I win. Thanks again for your content… always thorough and entertaining.
Hey Sarah, here's a share for your new hood (or undersized raincoat xD). Love that you keep personal safety up on the fly with these grand build videos. So much fun to watch.
Thanks!
@@SarahnTuned I love you
How much do I have to tip to get you to stick some sweet offroad buggy headlamps on the hood of that bug??
For those who thought that it was a coincidence that the shot of the POR15 can at about 09:00 included "better prep means better results", there are no coincidences in Sarah's OCD world.
It's not OCD, but integrity. You always put 200% into your work.
"...wouldn't be the first time". Classic. Laughed out loud.
For what it's worth, I think your natural hair looks great.
@sarah-n-tuned You do the best music and sound editing of anyone on the tube.
Hey there. Cofap was a Brazilian company created in 1955 that made shocks. It was sold to Magneti Marelli back in the 90s and it still makes shocks today. Greetings from Brazil!
@Ghost of Henry - Saudações dos Estados Unidos!
The More You Know! 😆
Shocks... A shocker is something a little different bud.. 😅
Dampers? 😆
The nut joke…….found myself laughing out loud……just great Sarah, love your videos which I have been watching for over two years now.
Probably wasn't joking. lol
The innuendo was especially on point this week.
Ah yes, POR-15. I used it on my 52 Plymouth about 20 years ago and the stains on my hands have almost disappeared.
Love your work Sarah. I like the way you handle the punches and chisels I sent ya. Your curly hair is beautiful. Marc.
The person who wins this lovely Bug, will be truly lucky. What an enjoyable project! Nice work!
Those daisy Duke's were amazin!
Your work is meticulous which results in a top notch quality car that I would have no problem driving anywhere!!
Carefuling and gentling are now part of my vocabulary
Oddball social media messages should be a regular feature. Love the reaction.
14:37 four inch taller tire only brings the axle up two inches.
Half a million subs. It will really start taking off now. The next 1/2 million will go faster than the first. Quality content, thank you.
Watching the beetle work is so much better than those other vids of girls who say they are working on their fancy cars. They never get dirty and don't even have penguins.
Fun Fact, that "Alien but Plug" you pulled off, that is the original and now the template for the Kong Dog toys.
It's very reassuring to see James May look on approvingly!
Sooooo much work. The winner of Ragnar is goingbto be one lucky duck.
....I'm glad I wear long gloves when I use POR15.
The best thing about these old Bugs , is that it's just as easy to lower it as raise it . And you don't need to buy a bunch of parts to do it .
5 inches of lift the tire is 4 inches taller but only half of that gets used. great job on the bug love it.
Yes meat and potatoes, you've done a lot here. That spray undercoating is messy but is required for off-road debris protection.
Grat job as usual.
I like that I heard a Rammstein song in there for a quick second, very fitting.
But great work! off-roading beetle sounds awesome !
You look so healthy. Keep up whatever you are doing, daughter. Super job on Rangus.
"Ruining it" 🤣🤣🤣
Noooooo !
You're making it Awesome!
Fantastic job Crazy Girl 😜
Actually, you didn't need to pull the front axle to install the steering gearbox. You could have unbolted the steering column and pulled it into the car a few inches, install the new box, then slide the column onto it. I had to do this on my '67 Bug a few years ago. For someone who's never owned a Bug before, you're doing a fantastic job.
Damn… that was a lot of work in this video, especially when one considers all the camera set ups. And of course you cleaned and painted unseen areas because “Sarah”. Thank you! 👍👍👍 P.S. Loved the Zeppelin t-shirt. 👏
@Primus54 - agreed. Because Sarah.
it is indeed a nice zepp shirt, id get one for myself but i think my tummy would get a bit cold, personally.
Love the off-the-cuff humour, feckin' hilarious 😂. The beetle looks brilliant, great work!!
Fantastic video, Sarah! Excellent work! I don't often comment on a lady's appearance but regards you, I'll make an exception ... naturally curly hair is the best! 😉 Thank you for all your work!
That Groovy Happy Positive backing track @4:23 is how i hope your life will be. Nice Work Sarah 👍
The VW needs a home in my garage in Sweden ! You are the best restorer in the world .
Hi Sarah,
Curly hair or not, greasy or not, you are ALWAYS gorgeous. 🥰😘
Can't wait to see Ragnar finished. 😉
Regards
so much love is going into this bug
That opener clip was priceless. Haha!
I love to see James and Keanu getting along.
Sharing a gin and tonic.
@@chriswilliams3180 A James Gin
😆
Both of them are overly polite
Curly hair is amazing! 😍
Correction, of course we care. 😉. Whom said it’s a mess? Looks normal to me. 👍🏻
This beetle is going to be better than new when all is said and done. 👏🏻😎
Natural hair Sarah and bug content is fire!
Great video Sarah. You're doing a great work on Ragnar. Every video he's looking more and more beautiful.
Loved the Aerosmith & Zeppelin t shirts. Keep up the quality work on the bug.
I'm already envisioning sliding it around in the snow!
I never understand why car restorers don't do this kind of cleaning and undercoating work you did here.
All your work looks great and makes a huge difference in the finished product.
You probably gave that Bug another fifty years of life as long as the new owner does'nt run it into a river and drown it.
Please keep up the great work and videos, SarahnTuned
Don’t you know bugs float if you seal up all the holes in the floorboards. I grew up near Houston and it flooded every so often. This was in the seventies when Beatles were still common. Wasn’t uncommon to see a Beatle go floating down the street during a flood. If the water wasn’t moving to fast, just floor the gas petal and let the tires propel you along. You could get up to 4 or 5 knots.
Sarah you are freakin awesome!!
Long live RagNar !! Hot Vws magazine needs to do a feature on this when have you seen a girl like Sarah do this this is a man's world!!
Got to hand it to you Sarah hat's off to you!!
OK I'm dying to see you take this car out for a drive!! Want too it see all covered in dirt......it's a must!!
Congratulations 🎉 🎊 👏 on the 500k subs miss Sarah 👍👍
Great video, Sarah. The Beetle is really taking shape and looks great. BTW...I ran in to some guys from the Mustang Club of Tucson over the weekend. We were at our club's show called Mustangs by the Bay. Your name came up and they know you and where your shop is located. They also know about your Ranger. We agreed that they should talk to you about entering it in Fords OFF Fourth. So, they said they would hit you up to enter it in the show. We all agreed that it will be a guaranteed winner in its class. Keep up the great work.
my cat and I love watching these builds together
Love it how everything you touch has to be clean and one color to match everything. Its not obsessive its..being meticulous. I do the same thing everything i fix on mine. Love the series!! Save the VWs!!
Love the curly hair Sarah!
I'm somewhat surprised Sarah didn't clean, paint & overhaul the parts cleaner.
“Wouldn’t be the first time” love it!
Time flies when you're having fun (or working your ass off)! You should wear 'classic rock' Tees more often; I feel it adds a certain 70's flavor, to the robot butt-plugs and fugacious flying fasteners. CHEERS!!!
Hey... Gotta tell you a secret... If your shop is clean then no work is getting done. Best to hope for is keep your tools where they are supposed to be and then once a quarter have a straighten up day.
As for the bug... It's looking great. I have no idea what the lean of an off road big should be but considering the engine is in the rear I would think that would be slightly higher... It will be fun to drive but a shame to get totally pigged up on day one off road.
My new car is coming along very nicely :-)
Don't go flying. Goes flying.
An hits the camera.
This is getting to be very exciting. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and for the awesome chance to win this great Bug!
It is indeed!
In grad school, I bought a bug that raced in the Baja 500 in the late 60's or early 70's/ It had portal axles from a bus and big rear tires. Ran strong and went everywhere. Classic bugs were amazing.
i myself am model year 1969 .. and when watchinig these ragnar videos, i wonder if i also have that many rust spots and need such a thorough restoration 😳
that steering box came out way cleaner than I ever thought it would great job.
It's really moving forward much progress, It's neat seeing you take it apart and upgrade it.
Thanks for these cool videos Sarah.
Sarah, did your droid buddy pass on to the big room above where dust is no longer? Been missing the penguin interludes too. If you'll be using paint-cans in the future, take a look at spending just a dollar or two on one of those paint can 'paint gun' sprayers you insert into the can. Makes using a paint-can so much easier.
Yep, it drank water
The rest of the country just did away with re-setting the clocks on Nov. 6 except for Florida. Arizona was already like that.
That body condom does you absolutely no justice you've done a very stinky amazing job in the car looks fantastic
Who ever wins Ragnar will be getting a really nice Vehicle , just love your attention to detail.
POR-15 can be painted, let it dry to be tacky, then paint. If you let it dry completely, Por-15 is so smooth for paint to stick. it is great for under a mower deck. POR-15 will brake down with UV light (the sun).
the 4 inchs difference on the tire is only a 2 inchs lift
You have accomplished more in days, than I have managed in years!
Somehow when we tuned in we were not expecting to watch Sarah shower. But I suppose this shower fits the channels content criteria. lol
An off road bug project kool Sarah always wanted to see someone do this from ground up u being 1st is fun & nice job with prep for undercarriage & suspension which means going one awesome dirt buggy.
I'm gonna be jealous of whoever wins Ragnar. When I was a kid in the San Diego area, I saw Baja bugs all over the place and thought they were among the coolest rides around. I still think they'd be a blast to drive. Keep up the great work, Sarah!
Steering, Suspension, and Brakes...Agreed. Doing the same on my 1973 Volvo 164E.
Sarah after this build. you need a lil vacation don’t burn your self out. Great work as always never give up
Rammstein! 8:28 You have chosen.... Wisely
I used to take the A60 every day to work, so yes I have driven on the actual Autobahn while listening to Rammstein.
The steering box will go right in from the bottom without lowering anything. You just have to have the pitman arm and the input shaft coupler off of it. Then put them back on once the box is on. They can only go on in one position.
Aircooled VWs of the USA
I LOVE all Ragnar content. If all that this channel did was work on Ragnar, I'd watch every episode, twice. Three times in a pandemic. RAGNAAAAAAR!!!!!!!!!
Love the lift!👏👌
I'm all about the Zeppelin cutoff
You are such an inspiration Sarah. Thanks for all you do. For so many years now, it’s still is amazing to see your dedication. Love you!
That is a lot of work Sarah,
This may be obvious but if you are working above shoulder height, your gloves need to come _over_ your sleeves to prevent them acting as big funnels directing everything that falls from above directly in to your armpit & beyond. Taping the glove to your arm just gave the chemicals a clearer run towards your belly button! Tape your sleeves to your wrists & go for some gauntlet style gloves :-).
A true comrade in arms. Keep them Flying.
Gentling and Carefulling!! 👍
Love your outfit in this episode. Real Sniffy. ❤️
Itchy Blisters, new band name.
@-suphur - agreed - or sick clown name : Itchy Blister.
Thanks!
Lucky nut your hair looks great and I enjoy your videos very much !!! Thank you Sara
Notch the rear spring plate or it will ride like a tank!!!
You are so funny. Your videos always make me smile
If there is a 3” difference in the two tire heights, you only get about an inch and a half lift out of it. The center points will be the same giving you 1.5” on top, and 1.5” on bottom. I know, you were just excited when you said that, but still.
This car is going to be badass, can’t wait to see the end result
Your stickers earned a spot in the hallowed ground of my toolbox lid. Also got a koozie which works great! Although, it's not as tight as I thought it would be. 😂
Congrats on 500K - well deserved - I hope this really steam rolls for you now! Really enjoy your uploads - really like your quirkiness and expertise! Best wishes on the rest of this build!
You accomplished alot so far for doing most of the work yourself
Great job. You rock!!
@ 3:35 Yes we have achieved cheek exposure. Sweet, beautiful, huggable, squeezable, kissable, lovely, cheek ! Penguin score...5 ! Thank you Sarah 😍 so nice
Sarah-n-Tuned...
Such a GEM!
Ok if the winner of this sweet bug, does not appreciate the work time and blood and sweat that Sarah has put into this build, that person is not a car nut!!
I like watching videos by Sarah :)
