- In this video I show How to Make a Warhammer 40k Chainsword Foam DIY Cosplay Tutorial with a free template. This chainsword is an all foam construction so it's both lightweight and con safe. I show the steps it takes to build this foam weapon as well as the painting process to take it from raw foam to a weapon worthy of the Emperor's service.

Same chain sword, but with a rotating blade. Motorization is optional because just typing that, it sounds phenomenally difficult.

Finally finished mine. There is a lot of things to do that is not included in this video so keep in mind that after you watch it, watch it again. This isnt a bad thing because it forces you to figure it out as well as put your own spin on it (which I did). Thank you SKS for the video and the new hookup for the awesome foam. Ill be teaching a class this weekend using the foam and where to get it for their projects :)

Aways amazes me to see all you "foam fanatics" do what you do. Curious to know how hard it would have been to install a low speed motor inside to make the chain actually spin and still keep it con safe.

darrin plank I’d say barely half of each sheet, 1 10mm round, 1 10mm half round
