The first Falco actually lost it's shield counter when they fought your Prosper. The counters on it after that were +1/+1's.
Not to say that Farewell wasn't a lucky hit cause it definitely was.

If I'm not mistaken, Commander/EDH is the most popular MTG format rn and Historic Brawl is just Commander at home so its not surprising historic brawl is popular

I personally find EDH to be kind of unenjoyable (not hating on the format at all, just speaking of my own preference) and it's not something I typically like to play but honestly the people I've seen complaining about Seth talking about EDH stuff lately are super annoying and obnoxious. It might not be my preferred way to play Magic but to say he shouldn't talk about the most popular and most widely played format is just ridiculously selfish and I think it's really cool to see it, along with Brawl, get a bit more love. It's actually kind of interesting to see all of these cards I've never heard of before, kind of a fun refreshing change. It kind of has me wanting to play Brawl again, the format has changed soooooo much since I last played it lol.
I love commander, but wont touch historic brawl.
Sad how EDH evolved from what it once was. Same can be said about MtG as a whole

Shhhh, it has alchemy cards so it can't be fun.
I also mostly just play Historic Brawl, can't wait for more vids. That Blood money play was so sick. I also use it along with like four other board wipes in my Nalia DeArnise "Party Time" deck, the treasures really help when you can play off the top of the deck. it's my favorite wipe other than Doomskar

This is so freaking awesome. I love your content. I play Brawl and recently with the arrival of Prosper, started to play Historic Brawl. Is my favorite format.
I also love using Arcane Bombardment because I made my Prosper with a bunch of sorceries and instants to destroy stuff so even though it doesn’t work with Prosper, I can get so much value from it

Awesome to see historic brawl content! The arena economy is so broken that this feels like the only format players can brew in without breaking the bank.
Historic brawl is legit and almost feels like a gritty battle. Because people can’t tutor up their win cons it forces them into grounded battles
I love historic brawl, would love to see more of it. Each card working so wonderfully perfect with each other, truly the magic of commander! Standard is just: Ok, I need 4 copies of every OP card pushed into a 60card deck
I really enjoy watching Historic Brawl stuff, you know, because it's commander. It would also be cool to see commanders that you wouldn't normally expect to be played, like Dalakos, Baba Lysaga, like your opponent was playing. It's a fun format, with a lot of cool deck ideas at your disposal. Either way, keep up the good content Seth!

Historic brawl is really cool. The sets that are in it are some of my favorites, and it has some cool deck builds. Of course you have people jamming the Meta too unfortunately. Better than people tutoring up a rhystic study

My Prosper deck is one of my favorite commander decks! Love to see a fellow cultured individual piloting a different build.

I think the defacto 3 top historic brawl commanders are Kinnan, Nicol Bolas Dragon God and Esika. I think playing a prosper deck into any of those decks is kind of an auto scoop (especially Esika)
You forgot Baral, or any other "counter/removal tribal" commander
Too many people play Esika in this and it's kind of annoying (I've had days where more than half the games I played where against it), but luckily most of the players of that deck are straight up terrible so if you can remove the enchantment part of the commander they have no clue what to do

I don't know why, but the deck I played the most against with Go-Shintai is actually Go-Shintai itself and Prosper. I played the mirror match up the most. It's really weird.

Last video encouraged me to try out historical brawl. It's really fun, other than the fact that it really saps away all your rare/mythic wildcards.
I think the situation with Go-Shintai is that they are pitting it against every deck possible to get research on what decks are good, and bad against it. But that's just a theory, A game theory.
well yesterday I was using a Kenrith deck and it kept pairing me with Go-Shintai over and over again. No idea why, and even though I love Shrines, I hate that all the lists are control and so much of these lists in general are just hard control lists.
@@ryangainey94 Well, Kenrith is a top-tier commander as well, so you might as well expect being paired up with Go and Golas and Esika over and over again!
I love how you use Teferi's "Let's slow things down" quote totally out of context.
Also I hope you do make a Brawl deck with Alchemy cards some day, the Esper deck built around all the cards that "perpetually" mess with your opponent's commander is so salt-inducing.

I have 2 Historic Brawl decks, Vannifar Brawl is very competitive and I've been fine tuning it for a while, it's a blast to play and super strong.
Prosper is my favorite commander both in paper and in Arena. My build is more of a "death by a thousand cuts" style, I have cards like Mayhem Devil, Reckless Fireweaver, Marionette Master that hits my opponents whenever I create/sacrifice a treasure. Other cards that I recommend:
-Bolas' Citadel: Insane card draw engine, I had games where my opponent was at 25 life and I played it and won that game. Sac'ing 10 nonland permanents to hit each opponent for 10 usually wins the game if there are other cards on the field that trigger from treasures getting sac'ed.
-Magda: Ramps to Prosper, fetches Citadel and Goldspan. Really solid card.
-Tendrils of Agony: We can easily get to a storm count of 3-4 which doesn't make Tendrils deal lethal damage by itself but we usually have other effects that deal damage so it's enough, even if it's not lethal it gains life which is good against aggro and good with Citadel.
-Birgi: Don't sleep on the front side of this card. Boasting twice is insanely powerful :D But seriously getting 1 mana whenever you cast a card is busted if you have multiple cards that are impulse drawing. You can really storm of if you have Birgi + Prosper.
-Xorn: Doubles the treasures you get from Prosper. It usually gets killed immediately but if it survives gives an unbelievable amount of value.
If you have other interesting cards that goes well with Prosper (in EDH or in HBrawl) I would love to hear them :)
Historic brawl was fun too watch once again. I might have to give it another try I stopped playing because I just kept running into control decks over and over.
Brawl and Seth are two amazing tastes that taste even better together!

I've been playing nothing but historic brawl since we finally made it a perma queue way back when. To me the color and singleton restrictions make the historic format so much healthier and more creative. I 100% support any future brawl content!

I would love to see you come up with a deck centered on Breathstealer's Crypt. I use to love that card. That with Undermind was so much fun. Pay 3 life to draw the creature you need, then watch it get countered and lose another three.
Nice, thanks again. Historic Brawl is the best format in Arena, hands down. Would still love to see a panharmonicon/yarok deck :D its so much fun. Or Omnath, Locus of the roil landfall :D those are my favorite decks and especially yarok is quite competetive i think.
Prosper and Go-Shintai were just added to Arena not long ago. I have a feeling Wizards hasn't gotten around to throwing those two and Miirym into one of the high tier hell queues yet.

I just had an idea... Against the Odds Modern featuring a combo you normally only see in EDH in having a deck built around Darien, King of Kjeldor. Cheating it out or ramping into it, giving it protection, and having lifegain for creatures entering. Then your opponent has to win through mill or alt win condition (or just one really freaking big hit)
I love historic brawl, and it really is the only format I play. Aside from a draft per season from the pass, haha
Last match instead of chandra, I think you win if you just fire up the den. Either, love the deck. Prosper is my favorite edh deck I own. So fun.
The main top tier commanders for historic brawl in the highest bracket for matchmaking include Esika, Sythis, Golos, Kinnan, Muxus, Any Bolas, and Any mono blue counterspell deck (Baral, Talrand, Jin Gitaxias)

Regarding the match-maker: as soon as Sythis came out, I demolished all decks that I came across for a couple of weeks.
After that, I got paired against nothing but nicol bolas/other control+planeswalker decks.
It takes on average a week for arena to "learn" what your deck wants to do before pitting you against the perfect counter for it (if it's a deck from a popular youtuber it only takes a couple of days)
Which is why I enjoy the building of so many historic decks - I only play a deck 5-10 times before I make another.
I hope you try Kennan bonder prodigy, such a killer brawl deck

Ones I face a good bit when playing a stronger deck are baral, kinnan bonder prodigy, and some bolas control/super friends deck

It is because Magic does not have interesting art anymore. The new Faithless Looting would be right at home if it had come out in the era of cards like Stasis.

Decided to give it one very last chance, Satsuki Saga deck what do I get paired against? Vorinclex of course, and they played it turn 4 thanks to ramping, shutting down all my sagas and basically all my deck. I can't be asked.
I have Anje madness in commander and prosper is super fun just getting treasures for all my super cheap madness cards. I need to add chesty McGee to get sweet madness-monicon synergies
If you like drawing cards, I would like to suggest Rielle the Everwise. Nothing quite like turning your discards into draw!

When did they change the matchmaking system for Brawl?
Since you asked at the start of that Esika game: imo Kinnan stands out as probably the best commander for Historic Brawl, it seems tough to build a deck that can consistently beat him without being hopeless against the other top commanders (Golos, Bolas Dragon God, Teferi HoD, Esika, etc).

In my experience prosper is not quite a t1 commander. I think the t1 commanders are probably Kinnan, Baral, Teferi and Sythis.
