From my understanding, TS4 was originally meant to be an online game, but when they changed that, they didn’t push the release back and switch to a different engine, so everything is very watered down.
EA happened.
They got lazy and made it a building simulator with boring sims. Its sad...

Can we just take a second to appreciate the depth and variety that went into the world building of the Sims 3? All these stories and families and their relatives in the graveyard you really believe that this world is real. Really miss this in the sims 4, the game feels so flat.
For real. Sims 2 and 3 put so much effort into every character. The sims 4 could NEVER x
It’s amazing the levels of detail they went into. It’s like soap opera levels of drama. I really miss it too. It made everything feel real and had a purpose. Even the junk they have in their inventory matches their personalities!
Right? XD I don't get how some people complain that the sims 3 doesn't have as much lore than the sims 2. Like what??? The developers put so much effort into the sims 3, and it is imo the best of the series. I think some people prefer the sims 2 out of nostalgia, even if the sims 3 is much richer

@Lisa Ross Sims 4 feels incomplete without mods.
Is there a possibility that Tatiana battled with an eating disorder? That would explain why she has hated her own daughter despite Lala being a baby/toddler: she resented the permanent changes the pregnancy made her body go through and blames Lala for them. She ended up dying of starvation because she despised her body so much after giving birth that she starved herself for way too long in an attempt of losing weight.
I also think her traits really support this theory, Snob would explain why she feels the need to be perfect, Neat would tie into the desire for control that many people with EDs have. Also some people that battle with restrictive EDs have a really hard time maintaining sleep quality and can be quite light sleepers.

I also think Tatiana had an ED, and passed the her desire for perfection to her daughter, who in turn pursued stardom.

The Sims 3 seriously has so much drama and lore that nobody talks about! Most of the sims 3 lore that you discuss I was never even aware existed until now.
I’ve seen a lot of people act like the lore dropped off after 2, but honestly it’s easily just as prevalent in the game, so long as you pay attention.

I created a sim who wanted to be an actress. She fell for Ruben, had his kid, and he broke her heart when he found out she was pregnant.

Maybe Deidre knowing the “big secret about her daddy” is referring to his secret daughter, Tiara? That would explain her bad relationship with him, the fact that she still likes Odine, and the fact that she doesn’t have a memory of catching him cheating.

Tbh I feel like Odine never meant to have an affair with Reuben, she seems somewhat young and impressionable; she childish and easily impressed, wants to have a big family of her own, and we could guess that she’s working two jobs to support herself, as the live-in nanny and a spice runner.
At the start of the game, she’s distant friends with 2 other women, one of whom is a teen in high school. Plus her everyday wear looks kinda like a school uniform, it seems reasonable to assume that she’s still very young, and could have felt pressured even, if Reuben was the one to first make a move.
That being said, I’m gonna play the family to have odine get pregnant and kicked out, maybe she’ll move in with one of her friends...
This is what I was thinking. If she’s just barely a young adult, she could’ve met him while still in high school and been naive and impressionable. If this is the case, this makes Reuben an even bigger pos for grooming a teenager.
She was groomed by Reuben for sure. She's absolutely a victim
I wonder if Tatiana was anorexic and resented Lala for "ruining" her "perfect" figure. Maybe she was an aspiring model and starved to death due to her illness
Oh I could't disagree more about Odine. I sympathize with her. When you start up the game, she's just become a young adult, and as you said, a live-in nanny isn't very necessary for older kids like those, so she probably started working for them when she was a teen, to take care of younger kids. That implies that she probably ran away from home or didn't have any kind of home to begin with. Renee might have taken pitty on her and allowed her to move in, but only on the condition that she worked for them. And if she was living with them when she was a teen, and when you start the game she's in a romantic relantionship with Reuben, I have to assume that he groomed her, which is super f*cked up of him. Basically it's absolutely all his fault and she's just another victim
What an unfortunate undertone. Sadly, she is still strongly in relationship with him. Even when he is an elder, at least in my game. Oh, and also she became a fairy...I don't know how this happened.
@@evaab2292 This is funny because in one of my Bridgeport games I saw her outside my house and thought "she'd be a really pretty fairy" and had my sim throw the fairy elixir on her turning her into a fairy, then edited her in create a sim to give her the fairy look I wanted.

The Sims 3 really does have a lot of deep stuff that you can miss at first glance. It’s really interesting. One mystery I haven’t seen people talk about, but that I can’t stop thinking about, is Lotta Greaves. She’s buried at Plasma 501 yet she’s a human. I feel like something isn’t quite right when you look her circle of friends. Nothing romantic...but it’s still strange. I feel like she was the victim of something.
Prob a victim of a vampire..
I had a little backstory for them:
Tatiana was a barista and after one night stand, got pregnant with Lala. Se had to stop working to take care of her daughter who was always making a mess in the house and this made her hate Lala even more. Eventually, Lala run away from her toxic home and tryed to survive on her own, getting a job in the bussiness career. When she was young adult she met Reuben and the two got together, eventually she got pregnant but Reuben at the time didn't want to take part on that and abandoned a pregnant Lala. We can say that Lala was naive, her childish trait, thats why she felt in love with Reuben.
Eventually Lala managed to rise on her carreer and become the person her mother wasn't.
(This is a bit dark but i think that Tatiana felt the guilt after Lala ran away from home and the depression made her not eat until she eventually die)
Lala got a plastic surgery and a stage name so she could have a fresh start with her daughter in the rich part of the city. She bought a house next to the Littlers and is planning on revealing to Reuben's new Wife, Renee, about his past.
As for the Littlers:
He eventually went on to marry Renee, she wanted kids so they had two despite his hatred. Like Daniel Pleasant, he is a cheating bastard sleeping with the nanny. Bronson and Deidre have that typical Lilith vs Angela brotherhood dispute. Also she knows only that her father is cheating on her mother, but still doesn't know the person he's sleeping with is her own nanny, thats why they are still friends

@@yenisoediro in my version, she died soon after Lala left. Both had children when they were very young (like 1st day of young adult in a game perspective or a teen pregnancy in a more realistic point of view)
If they had kids at 18 then it makes sense. Technically still teens.

I’ve been playing Late Night sooo much, and girl, my vampire sim has been getting all the women 👀 He’s in a relationship too, Elvira Slayer asked him on a date, Bridgeport is something else with the lore and drama😂

First thing I thought after you read Deidre's bio was that somehow she knew about Tiara being Reuben's daughter and was blackmailing him. It fits their (Deidre's and Reuben's) relationship status, Deidre's traits (I mean, c'mon, what other sim would blackmail anyone if not the ambitious and grumpy one 😅), the fact that she is still friends with Odine (she doesn't have a clue about this affair, she just knows about Tiara) and the fact that she's like, ten? and has the most expensive computer in her inventory 🤔
Thinking back on this, I can't help but think that Odine might be portrayed as so innocent and not wanting to be a part of the drama might be because of an implied power dynamic abuse? Reuben is one of Odine's bosses, after all. She might genuinely not want to be involved with any of this, but feel pressured to because of the power he has over her. Not to mention that she's a live-in maid, meaning he also has the power to take away her current housing.
Maybe tatjana staved because she was anorexic?
I was just thinking that maybe it was the developers commenting on the fact that celebrities starve themselves/used to starve themselves!!
Or maybe she starved due to poverty or as a means of suicide?
I don't think little Deidre knows about her father's affair with Odine; she probably knows about Reuben's adult daughter, who is their neighbor (that is the secret mentioned in her biography)
These were my thoughts too.
I love the EA houses in the Sims 3, they’re the size of five football pitches and they have about six items of furniture and I am living for it.
Deidre is enemies with her father not because she witnessed Odine & Reuben it is because Deidre knows all about the "illegitimate" child which is Tiara. Reuben is married only to have a look of "good family man" to other people and to earn some sort of fame & fortune, not because he loves his wife. To portray as a good family man, he had kids, not because he wanted to have kids. He is such a trickster.
You should do a video on the mysterious urn in the basement of the library in Moonlight Falls,the one hidden behind the secret bookcase door!
Even in Bridgeport, there's a gravestone by the dumpster behind the theater, Sinjon Frank a vampire ghost .Also Lotta Greaves another vampire ghost buried in the tiny cemetary plot beside the vampire lounge Plasma 501

Fun fact about pretending to be sisters. I actually thought that Tiara and Lala were sisters before reading the lore 😂
It reminds me of the time when my mom was called my sister by a receptionist at the hotel where we were staying. My mom is really young looking.
I actually am playing as Matthew Hamming and romancing Lala. You know, giving her a life she deserves and making her even happier than she already is.
Here I am with my creepy theory.
If you compare Tatiana and Lala's physic, especially their clothes, you will see that they are very different: Tatiana has a quite traditional look - with a bun, a quite long dress - and Lala is more modern, with a shorter dress that has a print that could remind us of the sixties or seventies. Tatiana's traits are also very "traditional" as she is a snob, light sleeper - so we can think she was delicate - and neat, like a "good wife" of the 50s.
In contrast, Lala is childish, frugal, insane, schmoozer and flirty, quite different from Tatiana. That could explain why they have a horrible relationship, probably Tatiana wants a more traditional life for her daughter but also she would want to control her because she was too immature - represented by her childish trait - quite mad, and also excessively flirty. A flirty woman in a traditional society would not be well seen.
Lala, tired of her mom being all the time with her, decided that she would run away. She locked Tatiana in the attic or basement - that is why she die of hunger - in madness attack - Lala is insane, another reason to control her - and then she ran away to become an actress, changing her name to not be found.

I think Ruben is the type to promise stardom to get his way with woman. I feel like he probably used his stars to promise Lala to stardom. When he found out she was preggers her took off, and WOW Odine though. She the definition of young and naive or she's used to gaslighting. Maybe more of gaslighting. Idk XD.

Funny you mention Woohoo in the Wastelands. I just got off my game a little bit ago and was playing with Lucky Palms and playing with several sims and Marisol Loera,who is flirty, had that book, too. Seems it ends up in the hands of alot of flirty sims 😂 Speaking of Lucky Palms, there's a bit of drama there that could definitely be covered. ❤
This is my favorite sims channel, seriously. I never really explored any of these families, i thought they were just there, but these videos made me see they have so much lore and backstories than i’ve ever imagined. The Sims Lore, you are the best!

I was surprised to see Littler since I married a sim with the same last name just to realize I'm married to Rueben in my current gameplay and we have twins 😭😭😭🤣🤣 and Renee and her children are enemies with my sim 🤷🏽♀️😂

16:05 Deidre is not Odine's enemy because Odine took care of her and children tend to love their nannies and probably because she doesn't know Odine is the lover of her father. It's because she knows she has a secret sister and she has probably been threaten by her father if she tells it to mom. If a father ignores her children the relationship is not good or bad, just acquaintances. So, there's something darker than a father not spending time or talking with her child. Deidre is considered a good girl by her mom because she is ambitious and a bookworm, very personality traits to get good grades and good grades means success in Sims 3. However she has also the grumpy trait because she has planned to run away from home and verbal and maybe physical abuse from her dad when she gets old.

I loved this Episode! Really interesting! My Theory is that Tatiana might have been obsessed with her weight, meaning she could have been anorexic. She might have had a one night stand and got pregnant. She didn't know what to do and felt like the baby Was ruining her career. After the birth she put on weight and maybe she refused to eat. She could have worn a ring to pretend she was married so the people wouldn't judge her for being a Single mother. Or that is at least my theory.
Sims drama is so interesting that I always just fall into a four hour rabbit hole of it
This may be strange, but Bronson reminds me of David from The Lost Boys. He looks similar to him and his bio states he is in trouble with a local vampire clan. It made me raise an eyebrow as it seems out of place for someone in his family or even in this part of Bridgeport. What is he doing in his spare time?
As ShinersTheSeagull said, Deidre could be hating because she’s found out about her dad’s secret daughter. Maybe she found out through investigating on the laptop, and that’s why she has it. They have made her quite smart.
Alternatively, perhaps there’s a rumour her dad is cheating and she found out through her classmate, which is why she hates her. Would be interesting to see her classmate’s family bio.

I still get a doubletake whenever i see the game refer to 'bridgeport' - because it's a section of chicago and it's where a lot of the poorest urban people, myself included, live. and it's a dangerous place. so to see it all glitzy and glamorous is so strange!

I know it is a reach, Your Honor, but Littler's remind me of characters from polish novel *The Morality of Mrs. Dulska*, where the lady of the house believes that it's morally good that her son is... woohooing the housemaid unless it happens under her roof and that this kind of behaviour is morally better than making an ambulance come near the Mrs. Dulska house. Maybe Renee is allowing her husband to cheat on her with the housemaid unless no one else knows about that? That would also explain why Deidra hates her father? Because she doesn't understand that?

Why does everyone hates Odine so much, while Rueben gets away with what he's done?
She is a single woman and technically she can do whatever she wants, unlike Rueben, who is actually married and IS responsible for, i dunno, being LOYAL to her wife
It's not like she forced him to do anything - the romance between them would not exist without Rueben being interested in it.

I agree that Rueben should take more blame and hatred because he is a married man in the relationship but Odine should also be blamed too. Your excuse of "shes a single woman" is pretty bad because that means shes a homewrecker
I think they're both 100% responsible. It takes 2 to tango and clearly here, Odine knows well he's married and shouldn't have gone for him and the deadbeat dad is just that. Opportunistic and plain evil! 😬

As for theories, it's not an option in the Sims but maybe Tatiana had some sort of eating disorder, especially after having a child, that would be tough mentally.
For Odine it's kind of scary hearing people be so rough on her. She's a woman of colour, working as a nanny ( even though she's also in the culinary career) in a game that's mostly full of white Sims. I just want people to think more broadly especially as we're in the "Me Too" era. The Sims 3 came out about, 2009? I imagine Bridgeport would have been a few years after that, but roughly 10 years ago, if you're a poc woman working as a nanny, there is a huge power disparity between you and your white, male boss. No one even touches on the fact that there might be major pressure there to give into an affair or lose your job, and in real life that might also mean being deported. Not saying this is the case, but the whole painting Odine as a home wrecker seems to lack a gender, race and class analysis.

Plot twist: either a) odine and renee are also having an affair and end up raising the kids together, b) odine runs off with the kids c) renee is actually writing a whole exposé on her husband and his many affairs and work shenanigans and him been a deadbeat dad and that’s how she become level 10
I knew exactly who you meant. I promise you, that 15 year old me could not get enough of the drama in sims 3. Like, as much lore as sims 2 but harder to piece together, so when you do it's more rewarding!

I been waiting for this I'm so excited. Anyways back when I played sims 3 in 2017 I made Reuben marry my sim chasity and they had two kids togther. I also recreated this family in sims 4. Also Happy 2021 everyone.
