If you like TATRAs you have to check old one military TATRA 813 Kolos 8x8. Thats indestructible BEAST.
I assume you've seen it, but the Tatra uses the cab of a DAF CF, the rest is from Tatra self, and the white combination at the end is a standard Mercedes Actros with a ''walking floor'' that you can use on the road
Yes, AFAIK Tatra produces the cabs themselves, but the design is from DAF. I believe in turn DAF now uses some Tatra new cab(s) as well, though it has to be for some more special trucks, probably small serie. I think those smaller companies can benefit from cooperation.
@@oakld they probably made great deals, and so they help each other out. Tatra makes cabins under license from DAF and so it goes around the world
It's funny how he still doesn't seem to realize that Tatra uses DAF cabin.
- That teal green Tatra at 0:38 does seem to share the cabin from the DAF CF.
tatra uses daf cabins, engine and gearbox. the rest is from tatra it self. the other way round, daf uses tatra parts on its heavy construction work trucks.
@@jptv5726 The engine is 3rd party, it's French (?) Paccar. And that engine is actually (AFAIK) a dressed Cummings engine, which Tatra uses for western civilian markets (in contrast to air cooled Tatra engines, for which such a small company can't provide a world-wide service and thus is limited to military and traditional markets). Tatra uses manual Praga and automatic Allison gearboxes, which are also 3rd party and widely used in the industry. All the rest of the gearboxes (planetary, drive chain, reductions) are made by and proprietary to Tatra. As for cabs I mentioned, I recall some recent documentary, where they were showing production and they mentioned cabs on the shop flor being produced for DAF (I think those new smaller simple cabs primarily for heavy duty military and firefighting vehicles), so I don't know where and to what extent DAF uses them. I've heard also about drive chain used by DAF, which could be what you're mentioning, but I don't know any details. Would be interesting to know more about DAF tech. In that category, the buz is more about MAN, Scania or Volvo...
That all white unit at 6:54 is a Mercedes Actros with a Knapen (hard K) walkingfloor trailer.
Agrotrucks use wider tires, to reduce the pressure on ground. They even use the military technology, that allows them to control tire pressure, so they inflate them on road to go fast, and deflate in fields to spread the weight.
There are a few different methods of "flat" unloading.
There are rolling or chain floors.
A flat converyor belt or chains with bars across the floor that loop around and push the drag the load out.
Pushers.
The front wall is detached and moved by a ram to push the load out.
Walking floors.
These are REALLY cool, the floor is made up with planks in groups of three.
The entire floor moves backwards, then the individual planks move back in groups of three, the friction of two planks staying still holds the load whilst the one plank slides back, this repeats until all planks have returned.
The conveyor and walking floor units can work both ways, so you can load bales, bags or pallets at the back and move them forward so you can load more.
The back dumping, those trailers have a whats called a walking floor, it litteraly walks the stuff out the back
The first truck is a Tatra Phoenix 6x6 and what's special about it is that the vehicle is actually registered as a tractor, not a truck. Not sure how exactly Tatra pulled it off, but it passes all homologations to be a tractor. This means that you don't need a truck driver's license (you need to be 21 to get one), only a tractor one. You can get your driver's license for a tractor at the age of 17 here in the Czech Republic and it's like half the price of the truck one.
I assume most of it is in Germany. The scene with the Truck saying Fliegl on the side has a German mobile phone number on it. Fliegl is a manufacturer of agricultural vehicles and machines, located near Gera in the former east Germany.
Its truely amazing how efficient it all is today. Just think back 100 years, when farmers still used horse wagons, or at best a Lanz Bulldog that was used for everything.
Maybe the first part was in France. The powerlines kinda look more French than German to me.
@@mariohendriks1 Tatra isn't that widespread again, so I think it's more likely to be Czechien, Slovakian, or maybe Hungarian. You won't see Tatra in France or Germany.
@@mikkorenvall428I look sometimes at agricultural videos and have seen number of Tatras in German and Dutch environment. Though I've never seen one in person, they seem to specialize in agritrucks.
Yeah. 100 years ago there was more workers, and only muscle. But kind of efficient too since nobody wanted to do double work, so there was at least as much thinking as today. And there was no unployment... at least during harvesting.
That’s only partially true. Fliegl in Triptis mainly produces truck trailer for regular trucks.
The agricultural equipment get’s mainly developed and produced in upper bavaria - where Fliegl was originally founded and still produces the majority of their agricultural products.
That being said, Fliegl did expand throughout europe, south america and even new zealand in the last two decades so their products can easily be found in most parts of europe.
In the part of Spain where I live, sometimes the truck is wider than the property. And I am not kidding.
The first Tatra was definitely moving floor, where the floor is made of small sliding pieces that move back and forward
nope there are chains with bars in between that drag the load out what you mean is a walking floor like the one shown at 6:53
@@Dunkler.Krieger Ok, thanks. I don't know that type you mention. But at one point you can see the trailer's back wall and it's kind of see through at 3:02, so I thought it can't be the one that pushes it out.
The part with the trailer that had 0171 as part of the phone number was in the UK as that is a London area code.
For more snowaction with Tatra's check out the Tatra Sleipnir 2; it is gonna be you're new favourite coachbus
AFAIK Agrotrucks are more a european thing than US. They are usually used to go longer distances because they are faster (80km/h) than a tractor (40-6 km/h). The bigger balloon tires are against soil compression and in weak, muddy conditions on the fields. When your fed up of Truck-Simulator, vou can try Farming Simulator and you will meet all these guys. 😉 The machine in the beginning is not a combine it is a chaff cutter, chopping maize for silage. The first trailer is shown form Joskin (pronounced Yoskin) in dutch. Fliegl is german. The silage is either dumped by a scraper floor or push of, where the front wall of the trailer is pushed to the end.
Its great to see when more people like our Tatra agro trucks. Most of these clips could be recorded in Germany, they usually are.
I seen quite a few of them in UK to.
I guess the old farming tractor manufacture been so high on there own farts so a truck is actually the better option
@@matsv201 Thing about Tatra Agro truck is that from what i know it was designed by students and initially it was made in a way that it was capable of power and speed of stardard truck but you only needed drivers license for tractor. I dont know how it works now but im sure it changed. Not sure what you mean by "old farming tractor manufacturer" since i dont remember any tractors made by Tatra but i could be wrong. They did used to make cars back in the day. And obviously Tatra sells to big part of the world so its not surprising to see them in UK.
@@Raven777777777777777 There is very few farming tractor manfactures. There is many brands, but most brands are just the same tractor.
I had to double check the rules here in Sweden. If you have a tractor license, you can run a tractor at 30km/h, if you have both a tractor and a car license you can run a tractor at 50km/h. If you have a tractor that goes faster you need a C license, but you don´t need a CDL as long as it only used for agricultural reasons.
My wife recently took both C and CDL and the C license cost here about €3200 and the CDL $3000. That is quite a lot consider she just took here B license and that cost here €600.
Tatra use to make a tractor until the 1990s
The once i seen in UK was not Tatra, but i think it was Mercedes or volvo. There is a german company that convert Mercedes, Man and Volvo to farm use.
This video shows some of them. The volvo used for farming look so cool.
czcams.com/video/qhaOd71D_aU/video.html
@@matsv201True about tractors. Zetor had some unique technologies and was known for durability and low-cost maintenance, but I believe they started to outsource a lot of things and quality has apparently dropped. As you say, now it's few models dressed up to look like many brands. As for Tatra, I don't think they ever made a tractor. I've made a road trip to their museum to show my son something cool and don't recall to see any. But by the way, even though I've been to quite few technical museums around the world as far as Japan or the US, Tatra Museum have left probably the largest impression on me. Especially looking at their car back bone chassis with integral boxer engine from 1020's (it almost looks wrong, considering the time), or later massive 6 cylinder chases for passenger cars, or all the trucks... Amazing stuff :-)
@@matsv201 Thats interesting. That Volvo looks cool. Now im curious about those Tatra tractors becuase i havent found anything about that, you got any sources i could check? I have found that they used to make cars and trucks but didnt see any tractors. I feel like i should know the history of Tatra since im Czech but im only familiar with Zetor and Skoda to some extend and since i dont work in that part of industry i never really checked on Tatra.
5:33 - The company is Schmideder - Agricultural transportation; located in Tann, Bavaria, Germany; approx. 70 miles east of Munich
Yes, favorite type of Trucks "taking huge dumps" in a very short time. Drove the Actros first series and the Scania R series 8 x 4.
You ought so check out Finnish SISU trucks; they also follow a similar path with offering specialized trucks for heavy duty end users like construction or forestry. They don't produce their cabs in-house so there have been different cabs and engines used through the years; I may recall they're currently offered with MB cabs and engines while the rest of the driveline can be spec'd according to buyers request and their frames are unique SISU designs
There is also a Tatra Tram Company.
7:00 that's a Mercedes Actros MP4
You should check out the northern Norwegian plow trucks. The hardest roads to plow, both climate and geography wise. Scanias and Volvos doing a Great job. 😁👌
"Fliegl" you see on Mercedes trucks, is trailer company from Germany. They also produce all kind of special equipment for communal services (e.g. road sweepers, snowplows etc.)
That white one was an Actros!
the white trailer was using a walking floor system . i think most of the clips was footage from germany .
i've done transport in the agro sector . but with a normal truck like the one with the white trailer . driving on the fields is awesome . i've done carrots , potato , peas , green beans and flax also pig transport
At least red and blue Mercedes Actros are from south-east bavaria, lower bavaria to be exact. Also rather close to austria and about ~ 150km east from Munich.
2:24 Walking floors or these have the advantage that they can also be unloaded in the roof and they do not tip over as quickly as end dump tippers.
4:20 You can drive to the field all day long but three drops of rain and the fun is over and you can go home.
6:10 Can´t reconise the company. Fliegel is the body manufacturer. Like Meiller or Scharzmüller. It's dangerous to tip over like going uphill, with a dipper. They tend to tip over or the hydraulic rams break off. CZcams is full of them. Better such a pusher.
That cool Tatra do look like a big Tonka Toy truck . . . ,😎.
I don't know if you know it, but trucks used in agriculture are in Bohemia counted as tractors, and you cant use them on highway, their speed is litited at 45 mph, driver needs driving license for tractors with trailer and user don't pay tax for using truck.
Very GOOD Channel And Footage!
Mercedes’ and Scania and MAN are awesome
In Czech Republic we say "Tatra, nezná bratra" (Tatra, she doesn't know her brother) :-))
You wana look at the ford max truck it doesn't get sold in the UK but is in some eu countries.
Looks like cattle feed from Corn left overs😊
White truck looks like woodchips😊
White semi looks like MB Actros
What trucks murica using for harvesting? Greetings from Czechia 🙂 BTW I rly liked how you called Tatra she...bcs it is how we call it 🙂
The all white truck with the walking floor that was ejecting the wood chips was a scania
Tatra and kamaz are my favourite
red mercedes dropping silage is definitely in germany.
You should check out the Brazilian trucking scene. Truck brands from all over the world, old and new school, extreme conditions. Insane in both a good and bad way.
Speaking of Scania, check out Bruce Wilson he has bought his 3rd scania and importing it from canada
What? That’s crazy haha he’s living the dream with all those Scanias 🎉
@IWrocker he sure is and its great to see them get noticed there 🤘🤘
How's the sim pedals and wheel going Ian?
You should check military versions of Tatra trucks :)
It is not a combined it is a forest harvester
With a 100+k followers, I believe that you could land "a day at the farm" agreement with a farm owner...
Often agriculture feels that they get unfair critique, and wouldn't mind showing what actually goes on.
If you don't take care of your land, your yield will diminish...
But of course, I don't know if you have time for that.
I would love to pursue some content like that and meet some people in industries like this. Get their perspective on things and see some cool equipment up close
I don't think it's as difficult as you believe.
Of course call ahead, farmers don't need tourists during sowing or harvesting.
I believe that you could be allowed in on the job. If you're ready to ride a tractor or truck when it makes sense.
My uncle used to be a keeper of milking cows, if my cousin and I found ourselves bored, he'd say grab that machine and that tractor, feed the calfs.
We were around 12 at that time. 😂 and we weren't paid. He got a few hours off. And then the swimming pool was heated for us the rest of the day.
To put it simple, ask in advance. If you'd like to operate the equipment, say so, and be willing to actually carry out a task.
I wasn't allowed on public roads, because Danish law, but I had a lot of fun on my uncles private property.
So, just ask 'em... farmers are fun-loving people too... of course they have stuff they must do. But most also own some really amazing machines. It doesn't hurt to ask, and in this case the answer will most likely be "sure, but don't ruin/break anything."
Edit: I think it's important to say that here in the EU, farmers are obligated to have some fields dedicated to nature... don't go ruin some farmer's harvest..
The Blue Mercedes-Trucks is in Germany
since you are also fascinated by trucks you should watch a few videos of a truck trial championship
Would love to see you in a video about salvage trucks
I guess Germany or Poland. Probably the north as they have a lot of silage companies. Buildings in the images suggest that too.
I looked up some facts about Tatra after this video and my assumtion was right. They are basically the off highway versions of DAF trucks. I hought they were pretty similar looking already.
Did you know you actually can use agro trucks as tractors too? You can fit them out with three point attachers and stuff,... The Tatra in the beginning at least had a three point linkage in the front. MAN has very nice agro trucks too.
Have you seen the British tractor the Field Marshall?
U should see the MB Trac
Zdarec ,mě se líbí tatra 111 tatra 138 tatra 148 a tatra 813,ony mají takový ten písklavý zvuk ..tatra 815 to nemá ona má jiný zvuk.
Ian, you know you are quite nuts. That's OK. I have something else to rock your boat. The now finished service Alvis Stalwart 6X6 amphibious truck. The Rolls Royce 8L petrol was a fire spitter. Yes the British military were mad too, they had armoured car, armoured personnel carrier and fire truck version.
From the company name at the back of that blue Mercedes, I assume that's in Germany, because that's a German company, the other clue is, most trucks on this video are Mercedes.
Will be some video on Zetor
czcams.com/video/iMAtfzD5hvY/video.htmlsi=jx-fbvl62s_r_AL1
i would still love to see u react to Bruce Wilson on YT... he has a lot of vids with SCANIA trucks...
Some of them are maybe in austria germany ireland england or tge alps
And that white truck was mercedes
Most if not all are in Germany.
You should play Farming Simulator 22 once in a while.
Lots of cool trucks and machinery there and a ton more with mods.
The Mercedes is definitely in Germany judging by the company name and number. Where in Germany, I don't know. Swiss or Austria are unlikely because of the phone number.
That white one lookes like Scania, not sure..
Was a Mercedes Actros
@@lanzonova Ok, thanks...
Telefon No. on the Mercedes Truck is german. So it should be in Germany.
do you know the tatra bus? :D it is cool too :D
the Mercedes' had a German mobile number on them
😎
Did you see anything from the Dakar rally 2024? Here's a truck compilation: czcams.com/video/aJcn1CIEb_4/video.htmlsi=OQhXiz_UDnmO62Fj
Moving flatbed
well.. you know there is a possibility to drive an European style truck in the USA. Bruce Wilson (czcams.com/video/YNpsGt9b4LY/video.htmlsi=2BCj62RZtjdcpHNr) got some Scania Cabover .. maybe it is time for a collab :D
You can't turn the Tatra on the roof: czcams.com/video/95500qincoY/video.html
Hey you should check some Chinese trucks
Some Chinese trucks are just copies of European trucks.
i would take a MAN Agro truck. in black they look mean as hell.
Big ag
This is far from the coolest video. There is video where they do actuall agricutural work with truck-tractors . Typicall agricultal work where the need to carry a lot of mass like spraying and seeding and pretty much everything when they pull stuff into the field.
czcams.com/video/qhaOd71D_aU/video.html
Here is some videos where they do real agricultal work and not just transporting. Yes, truck can transport, we alreddy know that. But can the bale.. yes, they can. Can the spreed manure, yes they can that also.
But can they line hay.. yes
I don't want to disappoint you but Tatra are very rare in Europe.
Maybe you can see a Tarta in Eastern Europe. Tatra's biggest market is Asia and especially India.
Tatra has collaborated with Russian Kamaz. Tatra is manufactured in Czechoslovakia.
Tatra also manufactures trams that are also used in Western Europe. It is because German
Siemens owns that part of Tatra and got the latest technology.
Tatra's military trucks are used in Russian Siberia but also in the northern part of Finland due to their simple construction and can handle severe cold climates.
Just think about it: every else there are Pro-Trucks. Only in the Us there are Semi-Trucks. Did you know that Umerican Trucks have the lowest power compared to the Trucks on earth? It is because Umerica suck at everything. Greetings from Germany.
The new Tatra is not a Tatra, they use a cab and a chassis from DAF
I would bet that they do not use the DAF chassis, Tatra drivetrain is not suitable for a traditional ladder frame. Also by the look of the Tatra Phoenix you can tell that the cab doesn't really really fit. 🙂
They don't seem to use chassis from DAF, but the cab design is from a DAF.
The Tatra uses cabs supplied by DAF, and engines from PACCAR. The model is a Tatra Phoenix.
czcams.com/video/yAXoiSQUCJc/video.html
Tatra is way overrated !!!!
Scania,Volvo,MAN and Mercedes’ are way better

nothing about mercedes trucks are beast... just cheap and nasty
