I would usually call those bikes a kangaroos because kangaroos have a pouch and the cycle has a basket/container in the front. I think officially they are called “bakfiets” in dutch, apparently google translate says its a cargo bike in English

14:13 absolutely ! it's very hard to stole a diesel, i mean of course, if you just let go the clutch abruptly it will stole, but if you gently take it off, you can indeed take off and start driving without giving it gas. and if you let go accelerator pedal even in an uphill it will still role by itself, especially if the vehicule in question is light, it flies up hills just with the torque, it feels like nothing can stop its forward motion.

I consider a European Fordmore or less as a German car. As you said: the European Fords are so different from the American, that is almost seems like another company. Ford Europe HQ is in Cologne, Germany. You noticed that there are hardly any big pick-up trucks, massive SUV's or other big cars that are common in the USA. There are a couple of reasons for that: (I) the amount of road tax, motor vehicle tax and other taxes is based on the weight of the car, the fuel consumption and the sort of fuel the car runs on. Big cars are therefore very expensive; (ii) the fuel consumption of the big American cars is extremely high and since petrol is so expensive (at the moment EUR 2,25/liter), this makes driving such car way too expensive; (iii) these big cars are not practical in European cities with little streets, the parking spaces are not big enough, the parking garages are not big enough to maneuver through, etc,; and (iv) the common opinion of the Dutch about these cars is quite negative. They are too big, too gaudy, too vulgar and they lack every bit of finesse and class.

IWrocker. Welcome to my world. I'm retired now. I raced this circuit on bikes. Then my own reactions slowed down with age. I retired. So I schooled younger guys. Most important lesson I ever taught them was to "match your own capabilities with the capabilities of your machine"! If you go beyond either then you are no longer in control. Was a "BMW guy" back then. Can confirm the other comments about the things being designed to be turboed and chase down Porsche 935s. Rules change in the '80s, started the GTP/Group C era. Procar series was created to give them a place to run when they were suddenly obsolete. First "M" car from the factory. Love the sound..here in the US we hardly ever got to see the great CSL vs. Ford Capri battles in Europe in the US in the '70s (M1 had a similar motor to the CSL). I'm an old F1 fan, so I'm partial to the BMW M12/13 turbo "Megatron" engine: inline 4 cylinder, 1.5 liter, topping out at 1400 or so horsepower.

The inline 6 is naturally well balanced. A 3.5 L, inline 6, "normally aspirated", pumping out 470 HP and it revs to 9000. That is a hell of an engine.

We got robbed after ww1, bombed into pieces in ww2, divided by the cold War, we have basically no natural resources, and we are still the 4th biggest economy in the world. It's save to say, it doesn't matter what the future will bring, we will find a way to be productive

There is a special dark beer from the Netherlands that is called Obilisk. Which has a alcohol percentage of 45%. You guys should try it. The Netherlands actually has a lot of nice beer brands. Texels is a good one too. Not sure if they are available in the US though.

To be honest I am shocked that Americans accept that this is how the richest country in the world treat their citizens. I see Americans as patriotic, proud of their nation and ready to fight for their right - especially with all their weapons- a nation of warriors. I mean absolutely no offense but when I see this as a swede I feel so sorry for the people in USA. If you break your leg and you are poor, what will happen to you? Will you get help and be in debt or will you just get kicked out of the hospital? If people are ill and in need of care - help them!

I love the M1. I rode in one as passenger a couple times and also have driven one myself (civilian version...) I even sat in the driver seat of the Turbo X1 (the one in the museum...) 😅 which is not just a design concept, it's fully operational and driveable. It was built as a technology carrier / mobile lab vehicle and was the first BMW with ABS, and had revolutionary prototypes of first driver assistance systems. Only two ever built...
