Italian police Lambos are special purpose vehicles mainly used for organ transport when helicopters are not available. They now have an Urus too. Lambo gifts them for PR reason.
So in Italy Police does Organ Transport as well? Or is it more the other way around, alng the lines of "Well the Manufacturer gifted us individual units of supercars so now we need a purpose for them"?
In France organ transport can also be a mission given to the gendarmerie high speed unit. As they have faster vehicle and not every hospital has a heliport

A funny little story from the Munich police / Germany. The BMW Group gave the Munich police a Mini Cooper in the design of the Munich police force to be used at promotional events. The Chief of Police took delivery of the car and then drove it to the depot in person. On the journey it was then stopped by a police officer because they thought it was a fake police car.

Jeep Grand Cherokee from Croatia is presidental/parliament escort vehicle. Any Croatian police car that has both red and blue lights is used for goverment motorcades. Most unmarked cars in Croatia are Merc C-class, BMW 3-series, Audi A4. Mostly older models because they don't stick out in Croatia's 15 year old average car age. Sometimes they use unmarked Škoda Octavia, Superb and Mk3 Ford Focus. Right now Croatia uses Mk4 Škoda Octavia (like the Austrian from 8:03) and Mk4 Ford Focus sedan. Your first pronunciation of the Renault Megane RS was correct and also the Wasserwerfer. The "Wasserwerfer" or translated to basically "Water Thrower" is used for riot control. The 10000 behind its name is the amount of water it can carry in liters.

I think Škoda actually makes the police car conversions themselves and that's why they are so common you basically have factory support and cars are even cheaper because they are made by design and not just converted civilian cars. Škoda says we deliver police cars to 30 other countries just in Europe.
PS.: You have to check the Škoda Yeti it is almost an icon in Britain especially amongst farmers and workers it's extemely practical and quite quirky car.

Geely is quite a big player in the automotive (and other) industry. Besides the own brand it also owns the brands: Volvo, Lotus, Proton, Polestar, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, London Taxi, Radar, Geome and Geometry. And a almost 10% share in Mercedes.
You're absolutely correct when it comes to the Avensis. It is the mid-range between the Corolla and the Camry :)
Avensis came in 1998 as a namechange to the Toyota Carina/Corona/Caldina, and build on the same platform as the 80s and 90s Celica, the T-platform.
First Avensis was the T22. In 2002 the T25 was launch, and the T27 ( depicted in the video as the Finnish police vehicle ) came out in 2009. It was discontinued in 2019 ( if I remember correctly ). Toyota allready had the Corolla as a hybrid, and it was just getting bigger with every model. The Avensis never got a hybrid version, and therefore got replaced by the Corolla.
Here in Portugal, the unmarked cars can go from old Fiats to very powerful BMWs.
Once a guy was doing over 150 mph on a highway, when a car came close. The driver thought the guy coming wanted to race, so he sped up.... When he reached 169 mph, he sudendly realised that maybe, just maybe there was something wrong. It was an unmarked Police car of course! He came clean with the speeding and the racing, but he got the ticket anyway.

By the way, the police of the Czech Republic also has a Ferrari and other cars. Not only Škoda and Volkswagen.
in Portugal they used apprehended vehicles has unmarked police cars in exchange for a lower apprehension cost.
You often see even cars that are simply wrecks that no one suspects they are unmarked police vehicles.
I remenber an old van, like a GMC Sierra cargo van for example, with the radar on the front grill and the police with an office, like surveilance on movies, on the cargo area, off the side of an highway kind of road, max limit is 70km/h, with deflated tyres, rust and broken taillight.
Here in Portugal its almost like an hunting sport... they put speed traps on all sorts of places... behind the dumpster, camouflaged in bush's, they even use trucks and bus's to hide them.

I love that you are finally taking a look at the SEAT brand, my home's country (Spain) car brand, I know you like old timey small cars, take a look at the Seat Ibiza SXI from 1988. Seat is quite known for offering large quantity of variations and special editions of their cars and some of them are really cool, and funny, with special liveries and small touches and such. They had some participation in rally aswell, most famously being the Seat Ibiza Cupra Kit Car, and the Seat Córdoba WRC. Fun fact, Seat always names their car models with the name of Spanish cities. 17:53 That is a "Survivor R" heavy armored police car made by MAN and Rheinmetall. Protection against mines and IEDs, ballistic protection against calibers up to .50 BMG, incindiary bombs and granades, nuclear, biological and chemical protection,... It can be equipped with a remote controlled weapons station on top wielding a selection of weapons from a machine canon, granade launcher to anti aircraft measures.
It is also extremely off road capable.
It's basically a tank and will set you back around a million Euros depending on the equipment... 😅

here’s a little fact in Portugal: When the police make a raid, if the criminals have sports cars like audi r8s, nissan skyline or amgs, etc… those cars get seized and turned to police duty like high speed vehicles or special purpose vehicles.
Slovak police recently switched to czech-like liveries on new purchased cars. Most common models are now BMW X3, Kia sportage, Kia Ceed and Toyota Rav4
In Brazil, each state chooses the model and design of the vehicle. Only Federal Agents have completely identical vehicles. Well.. ŠKODA is everywhere these days, almost every police dept in Europe have them. Some are also used in Australia and New Zeland! I hope that one day the VAG will decide to import them to the US as well, so that you can finaly get your hands on them... 😂
In France, unmarked police cars are used mostly for cover operations, or to move police forces to a hot spot. They are rarely used for regular patroling and getting a ticket is mostly a case of "just happened to be there".
Many of those cars are bought, but several cars were seized during a police operation (mostly the high-end ones).
For France, we have the National Police and the Gendarmerie Nationale, which is a military force active in the countryside, on freeways and in "extreme" environments.
The Renault Mégane RS is used for freeways, it's not a "regular" vehicle (as in you will rarely see it outside of the freeway networks).
The Gendarmerie uses alot of Ford cars because until some years ago, Ford had a French factory so there was a "national preference" deal. Ford closed their factory, thus the French State stopped ordering Ford. But given how slow car renewing is, we'll have Ford in the French police forces for years to come.

We have skoda wagons here in Finland as unmarked cop cars.

Skoda and Seat are both brands owned by VW group and share lots of parts and often has a "twin" in between VW models, like the Skoda Fabia and Seat Ibiza vs VW Polo and Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon vs VW Golf. Under the same umbrella. Lots of similarities but also lots of differences.
Dacia is a Romanian brand who Renault has, sins the 1970's, financial interest in. Dacia produces cheap cars (and in Europe known for poor quality) and often with parts and prints from older and outdated Renault models.
Fun fact, the Isuzu Rodeo became the Chevy Colorado around 2011 in the GM lineup. The Isuzu ended up going their own way with the D-Max

Greek here, Jeeps are commonly used among special police units as well as undercover or as regular cruisers along with economic sedans or hatchbacks.
Like most Balkan countries, we also use the Škoda Octavia along with other SUVs like the Nissan Qashqai/Rogue or Pathfinder or the Suzuki SX4. We also jse the Jeep Liberty as well although we know it as the Cherokee here.
Mercedes made an Autobahn police special of their E63 AMG wagon with the electronic limiter removed which increased it's top speed from 155mph to about 206.
Of course the police in Bavaria used BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) M5s instead.

Slovenian police mostly uses Skoda Octavias and recently also Toyota wagons, also few different vans. Highway police over here mostly uses marked and unmarked Octavias RS sedans. And a couple of BMW M550i's. But they recently ordered 10 unmarked Audi a4 3.0 tdi's and 47 marked a4 2.0 tfsi's.
Fun fact: If you see an Octavia RS sedan in other color than white, on a highway over here, it's most probably a cop. And belive me, you want to avoid the highway police here. They have no mercy.

The Skoda's were quite popular in the UK as traffic cars as they are very fast, they were using BMW cars but I think I'm right in saying they had a problem with some of them( don't quote me on that)

The danish Passats have been in service for a LONG time... It was already the car of choice since the mid 2000s, and in 2016, they extended the deal again. They are meant to be as narrow, stable, spacious, agile and powerful as they can be, since we don't see a lot of big trucks here, so you need a car with all the specs to follow a top end car on a freeway, while also being able to follow in very narrow streets, which we have a lot of in Denmark.
So the Passat was the best option as both efficient for the job, as well as not as overpriced as BMWs, Audi and Mercedes tend to be since the government buy them in bulk when they are replaced. They did have a deal with Ford for the Mondeos for a while, but VW made a better deal in the end...
Greek Police Jeeps are mostly used in the ragged, dry, mountainous islands, I've seen them patrolling some mountainous Cretan towns

Belgian ambulances have the same livery as the UK ambulances. Since about 5 years or so. Also the Dutch police cars have a new livery where the orange striping is now more like a red striping combined with the blue.
For me, nothing better than an Alfa Romeo but with the Carabinieri livery (the one dark blue with red stripes).

in Luxembourg, we have 2 tesla's but it's mostly for escort work and official state visits but not for chases or so. Then we have skoda's (Karoq, Leon), Seat, BMW X1, VW T5
Hemi Chargers are popular in my Part of Canada. There was a chase not too long ago on our huge expressway The 401. The Charger Police car went up to 143 mph(228 kph) chasing a McLaren 540c. The dude in the Supercar went up to 148 mph(237 kph) before pulling over for the female officer.

Re the high performance Ford Focus estate/wagon; back in the 1980's the Ford Escort had a high performance version called the XR3, and the local police had (it was rumored) an XR3 estate, which Ford bought back to see how it held up after being used as an emergency vehicle.
In Czech Republic we have unmarked Škoda Octavia and Superb (light blue, silver, black, brown-ish..) and it's happening all the time to me that I've to slown down worrying thats cops and its mum with kid in the back. Im driving V6 estate bimmer E91 so no wonders I guess 😁

in Malaysia... back in the days we use our local brand cars up until 2010 and uo where we start changing our fleet to foreign cars ehich mostly from Japan like Honda Civic and the most well known and hated... the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X that we just called "Polis Evo" or Evo Police... some department do still use the old local cars... mainly the Proton Waja and some use a local version of the Evo called Proton Inspira... anither famous one that haven't changed troughout the year is our transporter which is an old Land Rover Defender... and then there's Black Maria, nickname for prisorner transporter truck...

The most recent unmarked cars i've seen here in the uk (as in last week) were a black skoda octavia VRS estate and a black peugeot 508 estate, they were both moving at quite some pace

The Ford Focus estate at the start is UK, both the number plate and the battenburg print are giveaways.
Unmarked cars are here (Belgium) too. They are often used for speed traps and such. I actually bought two second hand police cars without knowing but pretty obvious when you drive them. One was an Opel Vectra with steelies (nothing fancy, surveillance use) and the other one was a German souped up Volvo V70 D5 (Diesel 2,5L 5cyl) which had quite some cosmetice damage (scratches,...) so that one was used in pursuits and such.
The belgian water canon truck is used to control crowds (mostly protests and football). I can see from the picture that this picture is in Brussels. They are also used for safety of the EU parliament, G7, NATO,... when important visitors are around (such as your POTUS) but hardly need to be actually used then, except when protests ar held because of visiting parties.

Don't they use unmarked cars? Here in, Hungary, traffipax (the local name for a radar or laser speedometer) is almost only found in such vehicles. Not only in passenger cars, but also in vans.
For cars sold by the Police, the blue stripes are usually left on, only the inscription and other extras used by the police are removed before sale. And the new owner signs his new company car with the characters used by the Police, this is how he advertises himself. Everyone else is freaking out because they think the police have come...
By the way, there is a real game going on between the Police and the speeders.

Glad youre diving into Seat :D! The wickest police car i personally seen was at Barcelona like 20 years ago, and was a high speed chase unit, wich was a properly fitted Mitsubishi Evo 9, never saw any other vehicle of that high speed chase unit.
talking about Dacia Dusters, something crazy happens when a tourist gets under the wheel of a Duster, their percieved driving skill is (in their eyes only) immediately better, and they can brave whatever the harsh nature can throw at them... and then 5 minutes later iceland search n rescue gets a call from a them, stuck in a river, glacier, cave, brand new lava that just came out of the earth last week??

The UK pattern is the "Sillitoe Tartan". It's the tartan UK police have on their cars and uniform. It has been copied by many countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Mexico, Norway etc. And even in the US it's used on police hats in Chicago and Pittsburgh.

Plenty of police wagons all over the Nordics. I don't know what the Swedish and Norwegian police do with their Volvos, but straight off the assembly line they seem not to be. Maybe it's just a myth to keep us all in check, or they just handle them very well :)

It is almost impossible to be pulled over in Italy. Certainly not for speeding anyway. James May, of The Grand Tour, was once pulled over whilst driving an Aston Martin. His infraction? He'd left the filler cap open. He received a dirty look from the Italian policeman for ruining the look of the car, who then closed the filler cap, and then drove off. Leaving him much bemused.

In France we had Subaru Impreza WRX during the early 2000's, replaced by Renault Megane RS until recently when they shifted to Alpine A110. All of those cars are sport cars, sportier than the big crown Vic which is a big car with a big engine when european fast cars are light and agile (the Alpine is a small car with a simple 4 cylinder engine, but it can stick to the back of a big Mercedes without any problems)

Here's history of Finnish police car (in Finnish only). The history starts from the early 1900s. Police cars were one of the first cars around, and often Fords, and whatever was available: "POL.doc: Poliisiautot". Motorcycle police came into the picture in the 1920s: "POL.doc: Moottoripyöräpoliisit". A video on history of police driving training: "POL.doc: Poliisin ajokoulutus". A former rally driver with Audi RS6 against a motorcycle police: "Markku Alén & Audi RS6 VS poliisimoottoripyörä (Teknavi 2013)".

I'm no Toyota expert, but a quick google search suggest that the Prado is just a Land Cruiser sold in some markets as Prado.

Here in Armenia, most of the capital's police cars are Škoda Octavias! And in Georgia's capital too! Also, we have Camrys and Fortuners for regional police. There are also some other, less common vehicles like the electric Chevrolet Menlos for example.
The police here in UK use unmarked cars, some are used by traffic police, some are used by detectives or even undercover armed police, have recovered/ towed several, had to pick one locally that had a stone go threw the radiator, had to have police officers with me as they had their weapons locked in back

Prado isn't used as a name for the Landcruiser in Europe. I've only heard about the Prado from Australia so I was kind of surprised hearing from someone from USA.
Funny fact about the Romanian police livery - in Bulgaria we have an agency that's specifically made to control the toll that every vehicle has to pay when it leaves the village/town/city. It's called BGToll (we're absolutely smashing it with creativity, I know) and it uses cars with the same exact (or at least almost) livery as the Romanian police. This was pretty interesting to me when I visited Romania for the first time recently and ever since I got back home after the trip I kinda look at BGToll cars differently 😂 It's just something I thought you may find interesting.
As a Romanian who visited Bulgaria that's totally true, when the new BGtoll cars were introduced I thought they were police. I then saw the yellow lights instead of blue and realised they are just the vignette enforcers. They still fined my family for not having the lights on during the day which is fair, but do they have that competence? I thought only the police can fine you for not respecting traffic laws. We paid the fine either way.

more interestingly, vehicles used for highway chases are not the basic ones. For exemple, In France, among gendarmerie (a well known military force with law enforcement duties among the civilian population), the BRI (Rapid Intervention Clamps) used Alpine Renault and SM Maserati (1973), Subaru Impreza WRX (2006), now Alpine A110 pure (2021)

That Iveco is a military-grade vehicle, not on sale. Carabinieri is a militarized police force, so they have access to the Italian army equivalent of Humvees, which is not used by the army anymore (they use an Iveco called LINCE), but it's still in use by the Carabinieri.

Over here in Croatia we now have a ridiculous amount of different police cars. Obviously Škodas are the most common but now Audi, VW, Mercedes and even Smart cars are becoming more common.
Interestingly enough the highway police now even uses a few Audi RS6's and even an R8 which they use when they see someone speeding so badly that regular police cars aren't quick enough to catch up, and rumor has it that all of those 600hp Audis are driven by policewomen. I guess that getting caught by them is an interesting experience to say the least. 😅

That is why you can see BMW, WV, Audi, Ford, Škoda, Seat, Reanult, Citröen, Peugeot as regular vehicles, but also vehicles seized by criminals or customs.

speaking for my home country Germany it is not that difficult to discern a car to be an unmarked police vehicle because those usually a registered in the state capital and have what could be considered an extended vanity plate of sorts (lacking a better suited descriptor).
In my case that would be WI for Wiesbaden capital of Hessen
IIRC police departments don't actually get a ton of the money they collect from violations and infractions. Fer percent of their revenue total max. Rest goes to city/county departments.
In Finland, cops get none of it directly, it all goes into a pool at the Ministry of Finance who distribute them. UK has a nasty policy to earmark automatic speed camera revenue back to camera builds and operation, so it's a massive trap for cash.

Portugal has 3 super cars only on his fleet, that R8 was from a drug dealer that got arrested so the car was given to the police, than we have a GTR but normally used only for urgent organ transport, and we have a Ford Mustang GT and some subarus for pursuits
One of the main purposes of unmarked policecars in Germany for example is to sniff out what bad boys - who are already known to be bad boys - are up to to get more evidence before arresting them and bringing them to justice.

The Europeans mostly uses serial vehicles with sometimes larger engines with small modifications, not like the US with special models only made for LE, eg the Police Interceptor or Pursuit or PPV models from Ford or Dodge or Chevrolet.
Those SLOVAKIA ones are still around but those are the older ones.
The green liveries look different.
Mostly now they are shifting to white+blue / blue+gray ones with green checkered reflective patterns.
In New South Wales, Australia we also have the VW Passat as police cars.
You should definitely check out all of Renault but especially all generations of RS Clio’s and Megane’s, they’re amazing hot hatches that can dominate on any track day quite easily in the right hands. The history on Renault and in motorsport is very fascinating too!
Georgia is a country with territory in both Europe *and* Asia, just like Turkey and Russia.
I believe that their capital is in the Asian part though, so in the end it's probably considered a Asian country with territory in Europe.
But culturally we have close ties to them since they where Christians for so long, they've been allying with Christians in a whole heap of wars.
With the Byzantines, with Crusaders and with others.
So they *feel* very western.
