Nope. We say E-L-O as in the three letters that start each word in Electric Light Orchestra. Love watching you discover songs that are new to you, but I love it even more when the lights go on in your eyes and smile when you rediscover a song you had heard before and are now learning more about it. Stay safe and well, my brother! :o)

Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra from The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame site: "Picking up where the Beatles left off, ELO expanded the concept of great melodies, epic song structures and grand orchestrations. ELO added an exciting mix of elements into rock and roll, including disco rhythms and electronic studio wizardry. Imagine a marriage of tuneful, rocking pop songs with instruments from the symphonic realm, and you’ve got the blueprint for what made ELO one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and beyond.
Jeff Lynne, ELO’s vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, co-founder, and frontman, conceived of a rarefied musical sphere in which cellos coexisted with guitars, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled, radio-friendly pop.
The result: ELO’s boundary-breaking approach to rock that resonated with a global audience, both as a pop singles act and as album-oriented rockers with deep-track appeal".

All the late 60s and 70s music crossed right over into the lives of us 80s teenagers, and was still incredibly popular. Our baby boomer parents had the greatest music ever, but a lot of great music was released back when we were kids, so we enjoyed it with our parents. Baby boomers and Generation X are the most closely linked generations, when it comes to music. Now our own kids, raised on it from us generation x'ers, are the newest fans. Timeless!!

So cool to see young people discovering all the great music of the '70s. Unfortunately for them, they don't have the associated memories. This song takes me right back to the mid '70s, cruising around in my GTO with my buddies, getting high, picking up chicks, grabbing some beer, driving out to a swimming hole and skinny dipping, a little "Afternoon Delight", all the while the radio is playing the soundtrack of our wonder years.
I'm comfortably retired now but I still have my vintage '70s stereo system and a good collection of vinyl and a few classic muscle cars and hot rods. These things make me smile and remember the good ol' days but if I had the ability, I'd snap my fingers and go right back to being 19 years old in 1975.

It was in the mid 2000s when I first heard ELO. I was watching a tv show and their song Twilight came on and I just remember my eyes opening wide and thinking "what is this sound?" It was different than anything I could remember! It completely resonated with me and I started looking for more songs of theirs. I got hooked and became a fan ever since! They are my all time favorite band.
