Those “groups of disabled people” are usually classes for people with a variety of disabilities to learn social skills, life skills, and job skills. They visit my job often (a grocery store) and we show them what tasks we do throughout the day so they can get a grasp of an average day of work and they are taught life skills like how to budget and simply take care of themselves. It’s a very important service offered to people and it’s important we treat them with respect and dignity to reinforce to them that they are safe and welcome in an environment that is likely overwhelming and over - stimulating. Disabled people are just people and there’s nothing “tragic” about existing in a disabled body it’s simply different.

    • @jenniferredd1430

I take the bus regularly, I often in the middle of the day see those groups of disabled people with assistants helping them learn which stop to get off on, how to behave, how to pull the cord. Some of the group members like to talk to others on the bus, and the assistants let them unless they seem to be bothering others, they are human and deserve human interaction. It is life skills for them. Many of them when "graduating" have a 1 on 1 assistant to help them get to their job, work, and get home. Yes it might seem easy for some of us, but it isn't "tragic" it is just their lives that they are making the best of just like the rest of us.

My brother has 24/7 staff we frequently encourage his staff to take him out to walk places so he can get out of his house and do more than just swing and swim at the pool. It's become a bit of a social safety net for him as well, we live in a smaller town so he's a very recognized person people know him and they know who his family is, if something seems fishy or they haven't seen him somewhere for a long time the staff at those workplaces are more than happy to rat out his staff to us. It's how we've learned they've stopped taking him into the pharmacy when they pick up prescriptions for him because the staff there said oh we haven't seen him in such a long time the last time my mum brought him in to drop off some unused medications.

I used to work in a grocery store and once a week, a local group would come in and they would tour around the store. Basically, they were teaching adults with developmental disabilities about how to grocery shop and get what they need and how to budget and what things are staples that last a long time, and what things go bad fast so don't buy too much of them at once. We loved having them in and provided them a space to sit and discuss after they shopped and offered snacks and drinks. I don't know how anyone could be so cruel as she is here.

I made a hotel employee laugh by making my own beep beep beep backup sounds while getting out of an elevator yesterday, though. He saw me struggling in the parking lot and stayed with me the whole way through check-in to make sure I got settled okay. He didn't have to do any of that, and while I was embarrassed in the moment, it's a moment of kindness that I never want to forget. Today was the first time I was really visible in public all day, and it was around mostly teenagers. I'm very happy to share with you that those kids didn't bat an eye at my chair, and what's more, they worked around (or, rather, worked with) me to accommodate my needs in ways that felt like cursory politeness, and it was awesome. ❤❤❤

When I used to work at a store in a mall we'd often have a bus of intellectually disabled young adults come in to practice daily living independently. They'd be given a shopping list of things they would have to find then they would have to buy something and pay with cash. I can't imagine thinking anything negative about that. It's great that they are given an opportunity to be a part of society instead of just hiding them away because they make certain people "uncomfortable " I mean, get tf over it. As someone who works in a jewelry boutique where we make some of our pieces, we do buy findings, such as ear wire, chain, O rings, clasps, and even charms. However, we take those findings and create a product. At first, I thought that was what she was doing when i saw the charms, but when I saw the huggies, I realized she wasn't altering, adding, or creating anything new. This is definitely not handmade.

I agree. When she started rambling about how it's unfair how people are "defaming" her or whatever, my first thought was: Well, just show your process, then. That would prove the point nicely and stop all the comments. But due to how obvious it is that she's drop shipping, she has nothing to show...

These days, it pays to show your process. Many paying customers actively look for such vids & pics. It's people like HRH who are quickly ruining Etsy and other platforms. My point is that if she were really making the jewelry, she'd be very eager to show her process, workshop, etc. It's practically free marketing. However, we all know she isn't making anything.

I make jewelry (mostly silver fabricating w some casting) and I remember looking at her site a while back in a bit of disbelief because it did not look like handmade jewelry (and she does not look like someone who is hunched over in a jewelry studio all day) but I figured I was missing something cause clearly people were buying it. Then I saw one interview where she said that she ~designs~ jewelry, so I thought ‘ok she must outsource her designs to some larger manufacturer to cast in bulk’ which was still confusing because that would mean she had to set the stones herself and I don’t believe she does, however it made more sense than her hand making them. It never occurred to me she was drop-shipping because I figured someone would’ve called her out years ago for it (also I don’t follow her so I didn’t think too much on it).
My guess is that she flips pieces and then also buys some of the charms (like the robot ones) and puts them on a chain with a clasp and boxes them herself; that way she can claim she “made them”. I’m a left a little speechless because it’s pathetic but also kind of funny lol.

As an artist, who also makes jewelry.. her level of handmade and her pricing are just unreasonable. Putting ready-made pendant on ready-made necklace isn’t handmade, its assembly. And gold-plated jewelry shouldn’t be over hundred bucks, since it simply doesn’t last. But when her whole character is about her preciousness (insecurity) and unreasonableness, it’s sorta on theme at least.
Also her “vintage Swarovski” hearts.. actually the color is named antique rose, not that they are vintage. Nearly choked on licorice for laughing so hard!

I make jewelry as well and am working with my husband on getting a faire booth up... I think you hit on something with the handmade vs. assembly..
